Well this looks quite fascinating :)
The first anime of the Science Visual Novel series =^.^=
Hopefully better than the previous ones from the Science Adventure Series. Looking forward to a great story and beautiful OSTs

isn't it already explained that they has nothing to do with steins;gate verse unlike chaos;child and robotic;notes?

Yeah, my mistake earlier

Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Robotics;Note, and their respective spin-offs/sequels are one series. this is different~
Not sure if Anonymous;Code is with the Occultic;Nine series but I think it is :3 will double check

@Wiziliz - steins;gate was good, but nothing special. I think this will be much more difficult to decipher in terms of story but if it does it well, it could be just as good as steins;gate without a problem

EDIT: Got some clarification on that. Science Adventure Series = Chaos;Head ... etc
Occultic;Nine and Anonymous;Code are Science VN series. Funny that though since Occultic;Nine's being adapted from the LN directly :3

Hilarious and witty, not to mention delivered with excellent word choice and concise, straight-to-the-point clarity. A real HQ zinger.

my impression of the light novel was really really really good, despite it only have 2 volumes. I don't know about everyone else but my standards aren't too high.

-a variety of characters with interesting perspectives
-Sci-fi vs occult
-nice cliffhangers and story of course

judging from the PV, the redraws and animation looks like itd go well too.

Don't you ever get tired of Japanese companies who blacklist their own promotional media so outside countries can't view it. It's rather counterproductive don't you think?

but your forum icons from an a-1 light novel adaptation that had ass in the pvs (an adaptation that turned out to be quite good in the end at that). even more ironic is the fact that occultic nines from the same publisher as grimgar and theyre the only two from overlap bunko that have received adaptations.

dammit someone found out my game here shit

Of course I knew that, the joke here (if you really did take the time to look over my MAL profile) is that I'm a sucker for generic anime. Of course Occultic Nine is probably going to be garbage due to A-1's steady release of pretty generic anime over the years, but I'm still going to watch it. The joke here is that most people I've seen around MAL discussions don't fall for the same crap I do, so I posted that as a little reference to say that "I know it's shit, but screw it we're all gonna watch it here amirite"

As for Grimgar, I would've dropped it midway and ignored it completely if I didn't see promise in it. Of course I'm setting the bar a little high because it's A-1, but I still think it has the potential to be really good so I'm keeping my eyes peeled on it. Plus that and the background animation is pretty gorgeous.

its from VN not LN. but well it doesn't have to be A1, every VN adaptation turning into pure fanservice anime lately regardless which studio doing it. not like i'm complaining though.

You can't really just look at the studio. From what I found out, most of the staff that do this is exactly from the staff that did shigatsu, including the music.

I hope this is in the same universe as S;G, R;N, and C;H. I mean I don't think it would be so far fetched that the comittee of 300 is behind the events in this series as well. Either way, can't wait for this.

I don't see why people complain about A-1.
Mystery shows like Erased, Subete ga F ni maru, Shinsekai Yori. They adapted pretty good. I could say Mystery is the one of the best genre for them.
So I will waiting for it.

Not speaking for anyone else, but the reason "I" complain about A-1 is because they have made over seventy anime and I've hated every single one. I don't even like the "good" stuff they've made like ERASED, Shinsekai Yori, Tsuritama, Silver Spoon, Birdy the Mighty Decode, etc because they go in directions I don't find very appealing (and they're paced terribly to boot). Animation-wise, they're hit-and-miss, but nothing I'd put my faith in.

And even if they weren't attached, Occultic;Nine gets some early disdain from me because it's one of those semicolon anime. And I HATE these semicolon anime. Do you know why Steins;Gate is the only one of these to get all those sequels and spinoffs? Because the creators know it's the only entry of the franchise that people give a damn about.

Still watching this mind you. Regardless of previous history, unless it belongs to a genre I don't care about, I must give everything a chance to surprise me.

I have a better idea. Ignore the staff entirely and wait for the show to speak for itself.

Addendum: Okay, I do like their Persona 3 movies, but how much of my fondness for them can you place on A-1? The action in those films were also pretty bad, so it felt like i enjoyed them in spite of the studio.

I didn't know who A-1 was until after I finished those shows. And yes I dislike them. According to my friends, it takes Shinsekai Yori 18 episodes to get interesting and Silver Spoon takes 9 (in both seasons). That's too long to wait for whatever interesting drama the shows are apparently really about, especially when you have an utter disdain for the slice-of-life genre.

What? Shin Sekai is interesting from episode 1. Yeah it's a slow show, but the intrigue and mystery is always there.

Silver Spoon is a slife of life yeah, but there's still challenges the creators faced. The story was adapted faithfully and the original author is of Full Metal Alchemist fame.

Are you really judging these shows second hand?

Intrigue and mystery can only keep me in for like ten minutes. After that, you need something else, because otherwise, you're nothing more than a series-long version of David Fincher's awful Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie. And by something else, I don't mean people going camping. I will NOT accept world-building/character-building on their own as substance. They're like explosions: fine as an element of a story, but on their own, they're terribly dull.

And I don't care if Hiromu Arakawa wrote the original manga. Watching someone take care of a dog or learning how to grow corn or whatever is not what I call fun. It'd be different if it was like Wolf Children where the mother had to get good at farming to raise her kids, but nothing of the sort ever occurred.

Also, I watched more than half of each series and found them boring, so no I'm not judging them second-hand.

i'm biased because i love the show but if anything that dissappoint about shinsekai yori is certain scene in certain episode, which is i can understand. its not because the show not interesting from the first,just... mystery is revealed after that episode but who'd want to get mystery revealed on episode 3 lol.
