Definitely something happened in between Adventure 02 and Tri. 02 group including Ken may have had a breakdown between 01 group. Judging by Takeru's digivice in Saikai - Episode 2, Takeru definitely was a part of the 02 group before. |

Hey, at least Digimon Kaiser design is better here. There are so many plot holes, I don't even what they are thinking. Maybe this world isn't actually real but a made up one? The one where 02 kids are erased from existence? But Ken exist or is he? We only see Digimon Kaiser anyway, could be seperate thing. |

Too many plot holes, and this Meimei girl piss me off. She have a lot screen times, and being a spotlight in the entire episodes. The animation is lazy. I watch it just because the old characters. Hope they will make the 3rd movie better. |

2nd episode be like 2 hours of digimon SoL+high school dramas+5 mins of digimon battle. Not like I didn't enjoy them. I totally buy into all those kawaii digimon SoL. Watching them eating snacks and fool around the bath is a pleasure. OTOH Mimi's high school drama and Joe's struggle on finding a meaning to fight and stay with his childhood friends are relatable and executed fairly decent. The digi-evolution scenes are staggering and great. Toei's art is pretty crappy as everyone knows so no point complaining it anymore. RIP Imperialdramon. Ufotable should be the one making the movies. But can Toei pulls away with this pacing next time in the coming movies? Like it's literally just 5 minutes of Digimon battles. 5 minutes in a 2 hours long featured film Orz It feels draggy just past the half way of the movie and it's coming from a fanboy's POV. No idea how freshers stick with this. Hope there will be more actions next movie. Meicoomon y u kill Leomon (ಥ﹏ಥ) |

Man I swear it got even worse compared to the first one. Do they even try to ANIMATE it? It feels like they use still images swapping places with freaking POWER POINT. Taking aside the "technical" stuff... First 3 episodes were very nice. Characters development and slice of life moments that I truly enjoy. Last episode was so damn bad. Forced evolutions, forced attacks, forced reactions, forced dialogues, FORCED EVERYTHING. Nothing felt natural and everything was rushed. Pfff... Hikari said one line to Joe and then BOOM Ultimate Evolution. Joe said one line to Mimi then BOOM the same. If they say that the darkness they went through was that mini-depression they went though (or as normal people call it: they were a little bit sad for a while) ... I don't even know. I hope I'm just wrong in this one. |

I get their "darkness" part (Taichi especially), but is there a point for "desire true power and go beyond" for their Digimon since they already unlock their Megas (and beyond). Every pair will most likely get their individual riddle that speaks to just them. Just as Tai and Yamato recieved and solved theirs in Adventure. This time it was Joe and Mimi, next movie will likely showcase two others and deal with their new personality and problems. |

LOVED THE MOVIE Omg from the funny scenes in the hot springs and the festival so good! Finally we see Gomamon and Palmon evolve to mega ladder-style! Idk if its only me but that ring that goes trough them when they are evolving from ultimate to mega reminds me of Tailmon's tailring...... idk Theory: Alphamon and the mysterious digimon hackmon are in cahoots monitoring meicoomon but i don't think they are the antagonists. I read somewhere else that meicoomon could be patient zero of the disease and that Alphamon was trying to kill it for that said reason so that's my theory. Also Leomon confirmed the Kenny of Digimon! |

Ken has a deceased older brother (Osamu), the one he tried to impersonate when he was the Kaiser. Is there a possibility that he's actually not dead and is the one behind this ? Although the presence of Imperialdramon is fishy. Or the infection can be transmitted to humans. That, or they completely reinvented the events of season 02 without telling anyone. Oh Toei. ;_; |

I have a bad feeling there are going to be a lot of plot holes by the end of the series, mainly because there are a lot now, but if it turns out this is like an alternate setting from 02, then fine by me. As for the movie itself, it was enjoyable but had similar issues to the first one. Overall, I liked it. |

A mixed bag this episode, the onsen visit very silly lots of goofiness and hilarity ensuing but it is Digimon it's rather to be expected and I got some laughs out of it, I would be lying if I said I didn't. The movie was a little too much like a slice-of-life anime and not quite the Digimon movie I was hoping for but on the flip side we still got some nice character development out of it. Mimi has to deal with being her self and Joe has to confront his reservations of having to be a Digidestined again. Of course Leomon dies! The ending was good but left me more laughing because it was just "of course Leomon dies! What else is new?!" Yamato (Matt) and Taichi (Tai) still on frosty terms with each other. (Also what else is new?) A bit of good a bit of bad and a lot of Digimon silliness. Good times. Also I wish Toei would settle on just making this a reboot already and ignoring 02 you pretty much have already and they just keep writing gaping plot holes around now by reintroducing Ken. Awesome idea but for new viewers it's bound to be "Ken, Ken who?" |

Goddammit with all the Hackmon teases!! I swear, they should invent a drinking game where you take shots whenever you see Hackmon. It's pretty obvious that Hackmon was the one that sent the spam about Ultimate/Mega Evolution, given how he's stalking the chosen children. Overall, I gotta say, this movie was a huge improvement over Seikai in terms of plot and character development. The ending pissed me off for the sole fact that it ended in a cliffhanger and I have to wait 6 MONTHS to know what happens next...GODDAMMIT! Oh, soundtrack was consistent btw. Animation was meh. That Lillymon evolution looked like someone drew it and they clearly got lazy with Imperialdramon. Though I won't complain about it as I'm not surprised, considering it's Toei. Honestly, fans should not bother watching Tri for the animation since I doubt Toei will even bother to care. Just watch it for the plot and character development and pray they keep at least that good. For chapter 3:confession, please make it an info dump chapter where we get an explanation of what's going on via Hackmon or Alphamon. Also, make the villain "TALK". The silent-act was good for the chap 1&2 as it set a proper tone for the intros, but if it continues in 3&4, it'll just be annoying and fruitless. |

This episode gave me so many questions, I don't even know where to start. 1. Where is this in relation to the timeline of Season 1 and 2? Is it even in the same timeline, or is this some alternate universe where season 2 never happened. 2. Why is Ken suddenly evil again if this is post/during season 2? 3. If this isn't post season 2, why do TK and Kari know who Ken is? 4. Imperialdramon, is that Wormmon + Veemon? If so, where is Davis and how did he just let Ken walk off with his digimon. 5. Hime is clearly not aligned entirely with the kids, she smirked when Meicoomon took out Leomon. 6. Is Ken causing the infections? Seems plausible given what he did in season 2 with dark rings and spirals. 7. How did Gomamon and Palmon randomly digivolve to Mega? Seems like that might be explained next movie. I'm sure there were more questions I had that I can't remember at this time. |

That data is being projected by this digimon i think gomamon and palmon managed to get to mega, it's because Joe and Mimi managed to know their own darkness, so they could get beyond? |

I'm sure there were more questions I had that I can't remember at this time. 1. It was confirmed that this takes place 3 years after Season 2. 2. We don't know (yet). It should be revealed in the upcoming chapters, probably Chapter 3 since the promo-poster shows Meicoomon's evolution (whom is most likely the antagonist for the chapter). 3. It is post-02 and they are shown to recall who he is. However, in Seikai, it was revealed that they lost contact with the 02 kids. My guess would be that they were defeated by the "mastermind" and then captured/corrupted by him/her/it, resulting in memory alterations in the 01 group. Hence why Ken became the emperor as it signified his evil persona. 4. It's most likely the same wormmon + veemon, considering it came with Ken. He's probably "captured", meaning that we'll probably see them towards the end of the season as this season is all about 01. If he's also corrupted, then we'll see him soon probably. Either case, he can't do anything to help Veemon. That and Veemon is also corrupted. 5. She obviously knows more than she's letting on. I'm pretty sure Hackmon and Alphamon are the only trustworthy ones as Hackmon is an evil detector if I recall and Alphamon only appears when the DW is in major crisis. 6. Meicoomon is the one confirmed to be the carrier. Ken, most likely did something to it (mei's digivice goes black) as I find it hard to believe that he'd just let him go like that and retreat (while smirking), resulting in Leomon's death. Though, I doubt he's the mastermind as in Seikai, we see a glimpse of the 02 group being defeated. 7. The spam izzy got, otherwise known as "the prophecy", implied that to attain a new power, one had to conquer his/her inner darkness. In this case, the new power is Mega digivolution and to attain it, the group need to overcome their current SoL dilemma. In this case, both Mimi and Joe realize that they should stop trying to be someone else and just be themselves. Mimi shouldn't care that she's egotistical and controlling while Joe should stop trying so hard to be the guy that fits in with society and instead be the guy who'll look out for the people who truly care for him (eg. his friends, gomamon, etc.). A lot of people don't seem to like this reason (from what i've heard) as it doesn't justify Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon. IMO, it's fine like this as people seem to forget that there is always more than one way to digivolve a digimon. Gennai even confirmed this in the 01-ending, saying that Skullgreymon was not a "wrong evolution". We even see Leomon gaining the ability to digivolve to mega in 01 just by being exposed to the digivice only. Also, I'd like to add that if the energy needed for digivolution is proportion to our passion and beliefs, then this is justifiable as IMO, our passion and beliefs are strongest in our teen-years (we're just usually embarrassed to publicly show it). Just realized my answers were too texty. My bad, lol. Hopefully this answers your questions. |

Actar said: Yes, Maki (the female agent) is in on the entire thing. She deliberately leaves Meicoomon in a place where Ken could pick her up and smiles when Meicoomon evolves. Yeah, I picked this up too while watching. She is definatly hiding something. I saw a theory on Crunchyroll that speculated that the secret organization that Maki and Nishijima is in is actully founded by the Digidestined before Taichi and the others. Now that I think about it, it does make some sense. Nishijima said that Maki changed since she was in highschool when they were at the school festival. The amount of knowledge the organization have on Digimon and their close relationship with each other definately supports this theory. If Maki was different in highschool could she be like Joe but instead chose to become an adult and changed? Her speech about not knowing what to do was linked to Joe when the camra was already on Joe but Maki was still talking, even though they are at completely different locations, so I think is hinted that Joe is facing the same problem that Maki faced in highschool but the two chose different paths: Joe chose to stay a digidestined, whereas Maki chose to become an adult. Anyone agrees? I would love to disscuss this with someone else. |

They gang knew Ken since they called his name when they saw him. The fight with Imperialdramon was good. We got to see Dragon mode and Fighter mode. Rosemon and Vikemon were awesome. They managed to take down Imperialdramon. Although they didn't seem to be worried about the other 2 Digimon that make up Imperialdramon, Veemon and Wormon. Then there was Hime's smirk when Leo got killed by Meicoom(infected). Hopefully movie 3 gives answers to the current questions. Well I enjoyed this movie. I'm kinda glad the movie focused around Joe and Mimi. They never get much screen time. The first part was kinda odd. I thought it was going to be about fan serves, but not much as I thought. More comedy then anything. Second part was good focussing around Mimi going into much and causing more problems. The third part was interesting as Joe is dealing with not wanting to be a digidestined. The final part was the best. The battle was great. Good to see more Mega's on their team. Overall I enjoyed it. Now I know people are talking about Leomon dyeing, but this is a much bigger deal. Leomon dyed in the real world. He may never come back. Digimon who die in the real world have a hard time coming back. Well next part won't be for along time, but I can wait. |

And Leomon is dead, good to see that they respect the Digimon tradition. Meh Meicoomon joins the dark side, so far we have very little development on the antagonists side. I prefered the 1st movie. Totally didn't hand over Meicoomon to Ken. So glad I was not the only one who noticed that. I had to rewind it just to see that face. She's up to something. I like that Joe and Mimi got more screen time, they pretty understand each other and they have a nice conversation. Joe seems to be trying to be an adult really fast and he still questions why he's a digidestined. But I'm glad he finally has a reason to fight. I like Mimi's personality but I agree with Izzy that she's pretty much self-centered. At least she's aware of that now. Still trying to figure out about why Ken is there? But I think that woman knows something about Ken and the other 02 cast so I'm thinking she's one of the antagonist in the series. Can't wait for Movie 3 soon! |

Ken is the Digimon Emperor again, and with Imperialdramon. So I guess the 02 DigiDestined have been infected. Seeing someone else go Mega level has been what I've wanted ever since I was a kid. Did they really have to do a evolution scene for each form though, I mean come on. And of course Leomon gets killed again, I was waiting for that. Here's the hope that this series will not sway into Puella Magi Madoka Magica-style of storyline. I mean, this series can be good if you are at least aware of Digimon Adventure and 02 (being prequels themselves), but for a non-fan, this can be quite disappointing. A lot of time being wasted in SoL stuff that can just be compressed into smaller ones really in order to create more build-up about the main conflict. I understand that some episodes are there for character interactions. Also, as far as I can see, I wanted to really like that episodic approach for character development but it felt that it is not normal once the series was finished and therefore I cannot. After all, the development of certain Chosen Children were there as reference for their development in Digimon Adventure series (the first two are a reference for Digimon Adventure, while the second two are a reference for Digimon Adventure 02, only replacing Miyako and Iori with Sora and Koshiro, respectively). Like...
I honestly thought the series should be adding more build-up to their relationship with their Digimon, as well as the human characters' interactions relating to the main conflict. I do enjoy this series for the stuff but I cannot definitely say whether it will be better than Digimon Tamers. |

First, i was confused about that guy named Ken. i thought he was a new character but Hikari and T.K looked like knew him, so i tried to seach that guy named Ken in Digimon Adventure 02, LOL!!! i'm suprised. i thought that guy was Daisuke....now every thing makes sense to me, it's not suprising if Ken became like that since he was like that in Digimon Adventure 02. but i still remember he turned into a good guy, so how did he ended up like that again ? what about the other, his other friends ? Iori and Miako and Daisuke ? where are they ? Imperialdramon is a combination between V-mon and Wormmon, so, V-mon ? Wormmon ? got infected ? And then second, really got my attention very well at the end. That lady with black suit (i forget her name) she was smiling after Meicoomon kill Leomon (poor Leomon, how many times he got killed ?) she was freaking smiling!!!! was that a new plot ? why she was smiling ? that got my attention! If i combine Alfamon appearence and Ken appearence.....are they working together ? because it doesn't seem Alfamon got infected so i'm guessting they are working together.... Theory aside, LOL FANSERVICE even tho there were no hardcore fanservice in this one....but that joke, When Meicoomon said "Senpai!!!!" fucking LMAO at that one XD XD XD Leomon can't stand it either.....i seriously feel bad for Leomon... ;_; Meicoomon didn't look like get infected either..... what is going on??? For the action, DAMN! that is epic imo. The evolution was really great.....i have no words for the action, speechless..... :D Wait a minute! Where is Warp Evolution ?!!! i was expecting that to happen !!! C'mon m8..... Warp Evo please!!! i'm guessing the next movie will be Patamon and Tailmon ultimate evolution ? or don't tell me something bad will happen to them ??? i can't wait to see what will happen. and it's obvious that Hikari and T.K will be together...... the ship will sail in the next movie guys....... Edit: i wonder what happen if Omegamon went throught into that darkness......turn into what ??? Beyond Omegamon ? i just can't think of anything. i wonder what will happen too if Alphamon go through that darkness...you ain't gonna tell me all of their digimon will warp evo like what happened in the final episode of Digimon Frontier ?!!! LOL! and i agree. that is too much SOL. it's not like i dislike it. it's good but they put too much of it. episode 1-3 is basically just SoL scene. |

Leomon dies again....the moment I saw him, I was wondering how long it was gonna take for him to be axed. What a brutal way to die too. xD Seeing Ken return brought up several questions and most have already been pointed out in the thread. So hopefully the next movie will clear some of these up and we will find out more on what happened with the 02 kids because that is still confusing! Taking Imperialdramon down without any issue was another eyebrow raiser when all of this came into play. Really enjoyed the character development for both Joe and Mimi. The first two 'episodes' of the movie weren't too interesting but it started to pick up after that. Loved the development for both of them though and Joe is the third(?) to get his Mega Digimon! Would of loved to see the Warp digivolve animation but I didn't mind the way that they did it. Overall probably a 7 or 8 out of 10 for me. Bit better than the first movie. Can't believe we have to wait until September now. :( |

The way things are going, only the two last movies will deal with the plot iself and the first four will be about the group overcoming their personal issues....That was what I was going to say before the ending. Literally at the last minute Leomon gets impaled, cat Digimon goes angry and disappears. I guess dark spores are behind this. It would explain Ken going back to the Kaiser persona. I think he tampered with Meicoomon while the others were fighting Imperialdramon. The next movie poster only shows HerculesKabuterimon and Patamon, so I can only suppose he's going to something big and tragic next time, like before.Maybe something like purifying Meicoomon? It's possible. |

So Ken becomes a bad guy again and has control over 2 digimon, huh. He got Imperialdramon means he has Veemon and Wormon. The question is, where's Daisuke. There are also mysteries about Meicoomon and Himekawa. Seems it must wait for the next movies. 2nd movie felt slower and rather a lot of slice of life, pretty good character development though. Hope the next movies would be better and more questions answered. |

Ah I just can't enjoy this very much so far. It can be nice to see them going in a different direction, they are older and its showing that they are not the care free kids who will jump into danger they once were. But they are laying it on a bit too much. Joe was just gah, yeah I get it, but this is Digimon, we want to see digimon fighting. sure you can try and add some character development, but I don't know just seemed to be a bit much for me personally. Well it has been a while since I watched digimon, I need to rewatch it, does this not take place after season 2 when ken was good? Well looking at other comments no one is quite sure where this takes place.. Well we will see in nature part(s). Nice to see old digimon back again in some form i suppose :P. |

I thought this movie was alright, a little better than the last one but probably cause I found Mimi and Joe's plight more interesting. If each of these movies is going to focus on a pair of characters then my boy Koshiro better get his time too. I feel like the person sending him those emails might be Ken and he's planning to use him somehow. Don't know but it would be cool to see Koshiro and Ken facing off somehow, battle of the nerds if you will. And the whole Izzy crush on Mimi thing better be going somewhere in the end, I don't like teasing for the sake of teasing. |

And with this movie it's painfully obvious that this is targeted toward people who grew up with the franchise, thus adults. Heck, there's even an official art of the girls baking cakes while wearing bikinis for some reason. And it's not just fanservice, this movie's tone is so much darker than the tv series it almost feels like it's Digimon Adventure in name only. We already had a darker and edgier Digimon, it was called Tamers. It just seems wrong, seeing Leomon bleeding at the beginning. Meiko just isn't an interesting character. These fragile flower types get tiresome pretty easily and watching her blush and stammer her way through this movie was just.. ugh. Hopefully it's just her Digimon that's a plot device, cause that one is by far the more interesting of the pair. I kinda get Joe's situation, especially when you look at it from the perspective of someone living in Japan. There's a lot more pressure over there when it comes to studying and careers. His and Mimi's development in the movie was alright. I liked that Mimi started to see that she can be kind of overbearing, to the point of being thoughtless. And like last time, they pace out the battle by sticking with the earlier evolutions instead of just going with their strongest right away. It would have been so much better if Lilymon at least fought her best in that form, instead of staying Togemon most of the time. And the jiggle with Rosemon was really unnecessary. Considering Zero Two's wonky explanations about why the S1 crew couldn't evolve I was honestly surprise they could even reach their previously final stages. But of course I have more questions, like "KEN???" "Him again... why?" Uh... T.K., Takeru, whatever? Isn't that guy your friend? You make it sound like you guys ejected him from the canon and he won't stop coming back. I'm sure he just means the Emperor/Kaiser persona but still. And as mentioned above, I have to question if they're even aware that they just destroyed one of their allies. Yet somehow Leomon's death comes off as more of a shock. Really at this point it's gotten tiresome and trying to pull a shock value cliffhanger out of it is just sad. I don't think Digimon Adventure was perfect by any means, but it had a certain spirit to it. A fun, adventure show with lovable characters that I feel can be appreciated by both kids and adults. These movies clearly lack that, and are trying to appeal to their former audience by making them more "adult", making for a hollow experience. |

That was real Imperialdramon not a Black version? I was under the impression it was black version made of data collected from fighting the real Imperialdramon and his fighter mode. That is why no1 went emotional over this. They may also have faith in Ken, believe he would not turn evil on his own. Meicoomon is either the infected digimon source or a creature that works both ways. He corrupts but also feeds on corrupted data. I may have seen things but after Imperialdramon died "Kaiser" put Meicoomon into his sparkly data thing. Was that trigger to going crazy and killing Leomon? What if Meicoomon nature is kill infected Digimon and that is what he/she did to Leomon? I want to see more of Lilymon in future movies. She might be a source of many creepy faces. Rosemon jiggly boobs were fun to see too. Drawn out evolution and signature attack of each stage were a little too long. On the other hand the Ultimate and Mega levels of Agumon and Gabumon were skipped. Is that a sign of them having new evolution line or having X-antibody mode? In Digimon World: Next Order trailer at the end of it there is a black version of Omegamon. Would this fit in the whole darkness and getting more powerful theme? Would like it more if Vikemon was more savage with his weapons, breaking some of Imperialdramon armor first while Rosemon goes for bondage with thorn whip >:) |

SO is Mimi so in the wrong for acting, and Joe and Tai so in the wrong for not acting? I'm not saying she's right but it seems everyone seems so uncertain of what to do that anyone who makes any decision is being blamed for it being the wrong one for the sake of the plot. Like IN THE SAME SCENE THEY ARE MAD AT MIMI FOR FIGHTING A DIGIMON AND ALSO MAD AT JOE FOR NOT SHOWING UP, TO… NOT FIGHT THE DIGIMON? SO HE COULD WATCH THEM ALL SIT THERE AND NOT FIGHT? WHY? WHAT PURPOSE IS THERE FOR JOE TO BE THERE IF THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FIGHT? By their own logic they invalidated not only his own reasoning for being their but all of them. Truth is the writers seem to be the ones in identity crisis because that was such a nonsensical scene. And not just that scene but all the times they are deciding when to act and not act and kinda just stringing along on what to do or not do. All Mimi did this movie is what everyone wished Tai would man up and do last episode lol. I dunno. To me this reads like a pretty good fan fiction drama with some comedy and the occasional 'oh shit its digimon lets battle for 30 seconds and win/lose/opponent flees' but really disappointing canon material. The drama feels like its trying too hard but not quite getting it, the humor is kinda… awkwardly uncomfortable for digimon sometimes. Despite being Joe's episode there wasn't really a whole lot of airtime for him just "joe is sad" "joe thinks he's a coward" "why don't you love me joe!" "Fine you can leave me!" "you can do it joe!" "Joe does it yay!" It was relatable yes but stripped to the bare bones, same with Mimi. Same with the struggle Tai had that they didn't really fully articulate last time and kept to basic language and grunts, and is apparently still happening this episode but again he isn't talking so you're left to fill in the blanks annoyingly. Nothing really going on with Kari Sora or Takeru, Yamato is just there to Get Tai to stop whining… Its frustrating. As for their complete lack of concern for why their 02 friends are completely missing and why one of them suddenly showed back up very evil again without any effort to reconnect is unsettling. Its not even been hinted at that they know or care. Vikemon and Lilymon, finally on screen after so many many years of waiting and wishing Gomamon would get a mega onscreen and finally seeing it… well it was kinda cool but that was a ridiculously short, shallow and disappointing fight. It looked cool yeah but if they'd cut out some of the whiny drama they'd have had time to actually show a fight. Same as with last movie's fight, it was pretty pathetic and having just finished the episode it doesn't stick in my memory too much, even with Vikemon being one of my favourite digimon. The animation was a bit better than last time around but really, this entire venture just feels like a fan wanted to write their OC into a high school drama and occasionally put a fight into it. Its enjoyable seeing the characters interact and everything and it really does have a really strong base to it, the premise is workable, the new characters are okay, the struggles the characters face are relatable, but ultimately they just are not delivering the kind of story they could be. I mean, I guess they wanted to age it up a bit for the original audience but keep it young enough for very young kids but they didn't know how to find that middle ground? I mean when you have Tai worrying that he might end up killing someone that's pretty deep so I wish they'd stuck with a mature audience instead of failing to deliver on both ends. By more fully exploring the struggle the characters face instead of awkward silence their victories would be more meaningful and the spirit of digimon that they've lost could have been found anew. Instead its hanging in a kind of purgatory. Hell, what are our main characters even doing? Plus the whole lack of digimon battles and their tendency to be ridiculously short and shoddily animated. I really really want to love this but I'm struggling. I don't hate it I just really wish they were doing a better job with it. |
