Oh this episode...Renge and her reactions:

To say the least, I am pleased with the comedy still with the girls. And it looks like we get to see Renge riding her cute little bike. Adorable imo and it brings a sort of nostalgic feeling. I especially loved the final few moments of this episode with the camera angles and Renge riding that bike with spirit. Same with the other girls :D

I remember in elementary school when everyone thought that finger trick was amazing.

Renge continues to impress, she can multiply faster than me... Renge must be really smart for her age considering she is only in first grade, but at the same time she seemed to really believe the monster thing... So it's hard for me to say that.

Great episode as always, I'll be sad when this show goes.

Man that first part.... my dad used to play the same trick on me.. tho he didnt say he was a monster, he said he was David Copperfield's apprentice and I actually believed him. xD
The Candy Store x Renge moments were so sweet... Candy Store-san will make a great mum!
Great episode as always!

Always great to have a Renge episode. Such a fast learner, she is growing too fast xD

It was adorable of Renge to go seek Candy Store to supervise her. Then Candy Store rushing in to see the sick Renge and also spending her day off with Renge, it really brings out a sense of warmth.

But seeing Renge practicing to get rid of her training wheels, sure does bring back memories! All those band-aids are like trophies illustrating her efforts and determination, maybe elbow and knee pads should been worn, but yet it diminishes the effect, nevertheless, it was wonderful to see Renge falling and then to see her pick herself back up.

The pv looks like fun!

Believing in monsters doesn't make her less intelligent especially since she's still a kid. Believing in monsters shows that she is adventurous and willing to explore things that seems weird to other people. I say her eccentric behaviors shows off her intelligence. She thinks and says things no one ever thinks of.

Heh, my uncle loved doing that thumb gag to my siblings and I when we were young. I actually never learned to ride a bike, wasn't much of an outdoors kid. Still, the combination of Ren-chon x Candy Store made for a fantastic outing...again! :D

Hahaha. That thumb trick. I used to find that awesome too. It was fun to see Konomi being amazed by Ren-chon doing the multiplication properly and quick.

And of course. Any episode with Renge and Dagashiya are too awesome.

That thumb trick was neat.

But Ren-chon's multiplication via adding skill is even more so.

Kaede's affections for Renge is beautiful. The bike practicing session was probably the highlight of this episode. Natsumi picking on her about it was pretty funny though. PV for next week looks wild!

Intelligence does not mean closed minded.
Mysterious things, when you were a child you used to think "They exist for sure!", but all of a sudden it changes to, "It would be nice if they existed." I wonder when and why you stop believing.

Dagashi-ya san would make a good mother with the way she cares about Renge.
And Koyomi teasing Renge like that was funny.

Renge learning how to ride a bicycle was nice, i liked how she didn't give up she has a lot of spirit.

The dialogue between Konomi and Ren-chon during the first segment was so well done. Renge's reactions were hilarious. "I have a band-aid today, I'll use it to operate!!" Ha ha ha.

The second part where Kaede helps Renge with learning how to balance on her bike without the training wheels was heartwarming for sure. Some of the best moments of this show are the interactions between these two.

Heheh, Konomi is such a trickster, isn't she? :D Those arithmetic skills Renge-chan has though! :))

And Renge on her mini-bike was so cute! Her interactions with Candy Store were just great and the scene during sunset when Renge went off screen finally learning cycling was really moving. It almost felt like when parents leaves their grown-up child.

Those episodes of late are really getting better and better!

D'awww!! The bike riding scenes were some of the cutest scenes ever in this series. I really wouldn't mind if they just scrapped the other characters and just focus on Renge and Dagashiya-san; to me, they're the only two characters that really matter.

Also, LOL @ the preview.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

NNB is at its best when it goes for these tranquil, nostalgic episodes. The scene with Renge cycling out of view with Candy Store at the opposite end of the frame watching her go, along with the glowing sunset in the background... that was exquisite.

Yup! This is what I'm talking about! My father must've got quite the kick out of messing with me too. I absolutely can relate to the shock and awe that Renge felt when she saw the trick for the first time. Took me awhile to catch on, being so young and naive...

In support of what others here have been saying, I'll just say that this episode will definitely go down as a classic. As infatuated as I am with Hotaru, Renge and Candy Store have consistently been the forefront of this series' success.

Towards anyone who has watched "Little Bear" when they were younger, does this anime at times remind you of that cartoon? The speech-less moments with soft music in the background, a group of friends using their imagination with stuff around them to have simple fun, it's slow pace & touching moments.

This was such an adorable episode. The sunset scene where Renge rides off as Dagashiya stood there felt touching but sad & lonely. Felt as if she would ride off never to be seen again. The growing up feeling I guess.
