| What the hell is going on in this thread? Have the bikinis and lewd women distracted every other watcher from the genius depth and social critique present in this one 4 minute episode alone? This was beyond all else a jab at the RPG armor trope that dictates armor is only superior due to some invisible stat, some magical force, not due to how it is constructed or how much of the body it covers. With female characters in particular, more revealing armor often has higher defense! It's irrational and foolish. The masterminds behind this beautiful piece of art recognized the lack of logic in this trope and attempted to expose it for what it is. What's more important though is not the commentary on video game elements which have no real bearing in society; what is important is the deep and intricate symbolism masked by this superficial criticism. This is not just about the idiocy of female characters and revealing armor. This is a symbolic element used to highlight how women in society gain social power not through skill, expertise, or preparation; their social ranking is determined nearly entirely by their beauty and value as a sex object. No matter how hard they try to achieve success, the dragon (symbolizing our social construct) continuously overpowers and overcomes them. They became capable of defeating the "dragon" only after they donned bikini armor and accepted their positions as lewd, lustful women. When Fighter, in a courageous and honorable attempt, rejected the nonsensical armor shift, failing to understand how a skinny piece of cloth could somehow protect her and wanting to overcome the enemy with her own prowess, she was quickly wiped away. She had no power to overcome the dragon. What more, after her allies had surrendered themselves to the bikini armor and were able to survive the dragon's onslaught because of it, they criticized and shunned Fighter for not conforming to their means of improvement. Finally, Fighter had no choice but accept the bikini armor as the only path towards salvation. She must accept her role as a sex object, for it is the only method a woman has to level up in this cruel world. What a powerful testament of feminism packed in four short minutes! This is truly an amazing feat. I revere the crew responsible for such beautiful and meaningful art and their means of handling it in the most ironic execution. Thank you, Bikini Warriors, for your social enlightenment. |

| Well if this anime accomplished something it's "plot". And it also succeeded in making fun of mmo's and rpg's in general. Which is pretty much what this show is all about, it's just to make fun of MMO's and RPG's that shove "armor" onto characters among the other things they make fun of in later episodes. Also quite surprised how not all that many of the people here seem to have realized this lol. Story? Was never intended to have one, it's JUST to make FUN of the MMO's and RPG's that are out there today. The characters having class names instead of actual names should have been a dead giveaway but apparently not. I'd give it a 7/10, because it did what it intended to do, and that is, like I've stated 2 times now, to make fun of MMO's and RPG's. There's higher rated anime out there that are just plain garbage, that never accomplished anything at all except fan service. |
