 According to Monthly Sunday GX August issue, "Black Lagoon 3" was announced to be released as an OVA (or OVA series) in 2010. The original staff and the cast produce the OVA. Black Lagoon first and second season will be released in Blu-ray. The extra manga chapters published at the end of the comic books will be animated and included in the Blu-ray as specials. The volume 9 of the manga will be released on October 19th. The rest of the "El Baile de la muerte" chapters will be published in one volume. | Well it's a logical choice seeing the Roberta revenge arc, and the blu-ray release is super good news, but I hoped for a 12 ep long series. Anyway, let's hope there will be 4-6 eps released as OVA. |

I may be speaking from lack of experience but the only time this sort of thing worked out perfectly for me was in Hellsing Ultimate. |

| OVAs have the potential to be great. All that needs to be animated is one story arc anyways, so think of it as a Tsuiokuhen-esque type of deal. But yeah, I agree that El Baile de la Muerte would have been way too violent to have been animated normally. Looking forward to reading how it ends in October! |
| Yeah I would have liked a complete third season but to have an OVA is at least some good news. Hopefully, more animes make it past 2 seasons. Wish there was a way to make it possible for anime/manga creators to be able to produce their respected mediums in a manner that allowed them to complete them. Oh wells! |

| darn, I were hoping for 12 regular eps in the 3rd season, and then in the 4th and the 5th and so on... BL could never end for me. BTW, I'm actually suprised that some of you seem to complain about the lack of realism in the 2nd season - I'd say that Lagoon was never reallistic right from the very beginning. Is there much difference between boats jumping to send torpedoes onto a helicopter and a swordsman cutting a bullet in half? |

| Just read in an article that the reason that its going to be an OVA is that the manga is being released at a slower rate and that a 3rd Black Lagoon season would overtake the manga. Well, hopefully this means that the OVA is just temporary until the actual manga catches up to deliver a 3rd season or more OVAs to complete the story. HOPEFULLY! |
