| That was very surrealistic and calming, I loved it. I'm feeling the 4.0 hype here boys! As an interesting detail, Shinji's reflection in the water had no plugsuit on him, and if you pause right as Rei's eye is in the close shot, you can see Rei's reflection with the plugsuit on in Rei's eye. Quite an interesting detail, but I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean from such a short clip. Perhaps that Rei sees herself in Shinji? |

| Good episode but wasn't this meant to be for non otaku? I know eva/gundam are rather popular but you would need to watch it before hand to enjoy it how they want you to. |

| That was beautiful. Definitely beats every other episode in the series so far. I was just thinking about Evangelion combined with a winter scene yesterday, too . . Amazing. They should make more like this one, instead of garbage like the third and fifth episodes. |

| I enjoy the episodes more that aren't connected to some franchise but tell their own creative story, so this wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. But someday I will rewatch NGE with my grown experience since the time I saw it and maybe then I will understand it's popularity... |

| Very nice short. Those vivid colours and blood red landscapes though. That slow pan up Shinji where his reflection is wearing normal clothes is such a delight. Such a small signal for the audience of the conflicting thoughts and ideas Shinji contains. His reflection showcases his inner wish for escape and normality, so he's wearing ordinary clothes. Whereas his reality is him wearing the plugsuit and being a pilot. That ripple going across it is the conflict and ever changing balance between those two people he could be. Eh, that's what I got from it anyway. Pretty cool short. |

| When I saw the boy I was like "Shinji!" ... then I found out it really was. Preview for rebuild4? In general, it fits. I'm a sucker for Eva, so I liked it. |

| Short interesting about Neon Genesis Evangelion, good music, but without any script. For fans of the series they will surely appreciate it. | Oh hi Shinji. I haven't watched the third Evangelion Rebuild movie yet, so all I know is that it sparked a lot of backlash. As is though, Tadashi Hiramatsu, who did episodes for Corpse Princess and Dennou Coil, showed off what I initially thought was some hybrid of Final Fantasy's other worldliness with Makoto Shinkai's slow paced observations of ordinary scenes. Then I saw Evas and Shinji and said "ohhhh." I actually thought it was referencing the End of Evangelion, at least until I saw Asuka with an eyepatch. Anyways, this seemed to be more of an experiment to visually narrate an apparent epilogue to the third Rebuild movie. With no dialogue what so ever, in addition to pleasant music to, of course, juxtapose to Tokyo's destruction, I suppose it's supposed to be a moment of reflection for Shinji. Without having watched the film, I can't tell what has happened, nor what it'll result in. I didn't see this short as anything profound, possibly because it was the shortest length of the shorts thus far. Perhaps once I watch the third Rebuild film, I'll be able to understand what's going on here. That's for another time though. |
| This was a nice End of Evangelion tribute. Even if I haven't watched NGE, it was still possible for me to appreciate the effort done. Playing Danny Boy with that Jamaican drum thingy was a nice touch to add into the somber humanless world. Get in the robot, Shinji! |

| I imagine how people felt watching this in 2014 thinking that it may be a sign that the movie is near release when it wasn't. It's interesting how there are some details that actually reference 3.0+1.0 |
