| I'm so glad I finally saw this one. Best of the 4 by far. Poor Roy. War damages everyone involved, some worse than others. I have a newfound respect for Hughes. Like Mustang was thinking, that's some kind of strength Maes has. Man, I CRIED. That music - ugh it hurts. So well done. I WANT MOAR! |

| i love it!!!! definitely the best one, 2nd is the Izumi training. it definitely showed how the rivalry started, and it started because of a food LOL. the fight with those stupid bullies are awesome, though they were punished by digging as well XD i actually thought the Isbalan was Miles not Heathcliff Erbe. so that's how he died huh? i guess he got kicked out of the military due to them carrying the operation, and Heathcliff wanting to protect his people so he went back to Ishbal. poor Roy having to kill the Isbhala and see the same person who he's protecting, it's a good thing Maes was there to kill him. if it weren't for his State Alchemy watch Roy would have died back there. poor Roy having no one to see, they could have at least included Riza here!!!!! overall the series is a 9/10, this episode definitely bump up the score quite something. seeing Roy in 18 is amazing!!!!! now im off to watching the Milos movie! can't wait!!!!!! |
| Finally,we have seen the history of how Mustang and Hughes met and how they became friends. Did they become rival for just a piece of omlet. Hughes speech was damn great. It proved that being strong doesn't just involve physical strength,it also requires unbreakable resistance to violence |

| The best OVA of the fourth, it speak about the meet between Roy and Hughes during their military period. Very good, Roy is disturbed because he must kill a lot of people, the plot is interesting and the feels are here ! |
| A rivalry and friendship started because of spinach quiche xD The ending to the happy, light-hearted first half contrasted so well into the next dark, psychological half. My two favorite genres. Definitely the best episode of the four, and now there are no more FMAB to watch T^T |

| I kind of thought it was weird how Roy saw Maes as a rival and not the other trio that bullied Heathcliffe. But I guess it started with that quiche. xD But man, I did not expect Maes to act like that during his military training. =( Kind of sad looking back at it now. And I thought Heathcliffe was Miles for a sec. Haha, nope. |

| That got pretty damn dark pretty damn fast. Starts out with Mustang training, standing up for others, and befriending Hughes and Heathcliffe the Ishvalan, and then switches to Mustang bombing the Ishvalans and Hughes shooting Heathcliffe in the head. Shows hoe horrible that war of annihilation was. You could really see their friendship though - Hughes went up to the roof after Mustang knowing it would be dangerous, shot Heathcliffe right after Mustang was shot, gave him an extra 30 seconds to relax, etc. Nice backstory there, it was good to see more of Hughes and Mustang's developing friendship. This was the best of the OVAs in my opinion. |

| So Hughes decided to hide his awful part of his personality... to make his wife happy..? Sounds fake. Lol. Mustang realized that what they're doing is extermination of a nation and still proceeded to do it. These two make me sick even more now and I don't understand people who like them so much. |

| Reminds me that most of the so called heroes and good guys in the show are actually mass murderers; hypocritical killers and bastards and bitches. *sighs* Still I am coming close to finishing with this franchise. NOw back to the actual brotherhood series. 8 episodes to go before its all done with. |

| The last OVA narrates Roy Mustang's past in his freshman year in the military and in Ishbal, he meets a Ishbalan when he's 18 called Reiss Clif and has to fight him when Amestris is at war. The story is really well written, as it shows us the difficulties Roy had in 1908 and the deceptions that would later build his character in Brotherhood. I forgot to mention he meets Maes Hughes when he's in the military and competes against him to be the best one of their class (I'm not a veteran or anything, so I don't know what classes in the military are called :P) which is pretty neat. For those who didn't know, in the 2009 adaptation some parts of the so called Ishbal Arc were cut out from the manga, which showed the developement of Roy, Maes and Riza in the Ishbalan War. Well, I think that this OVA compensates this. I seldom rate an OVA so highly, but the fourth a last OVA gets a round 10 that it really deserves, in my opinion. |

| I felt like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood did not have enough scenes related to the war in Ishval. The episode itself was very good, filled with action and emotions. First and last episode from the 4 we got were the best, in my oppinion. |
| I absolutely loved these OVAs because they're all masterfully made with each special adding more depth into the lovely characters as if they weren't superbly developed already. Hohenheim appearing in the cover kinda made me expect that he'd be here too but he wasn't after all. That beginning gave me some Fullmetal Jacket vibes but that's probably how every military training scenes look like. It's a very tragic twist that the person Mustang and Hughes stood up for ended up becoming an enemy during the Ishvalan Extermination Operation and knowing the reason why the whole war started made me feel even sadder about Heathcliffe. They don't have much of a choice but to grit their teeth and go through the mission and that sucks. Maes was lucky that he has people to go home to and forget about all the things that happened during the campaign with but Roy doesn't have anyone like that except for Hawkeye I guess. |

| Probably my favorite episode from these 4 specials,really nice to see Roy flashback before the war itself have even happened. As a whole the specials were good and showed some things that viewers definitely wanted to known more about. I'd rate this overall 7.8/10 |

| This is quite a depressing episode.The ishvalan war of extermination is terrible.Threating ishvalans as outcast or lower cast.It was awful.This is end of the Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood ovas collection.The Bloopers of English dub of this anime is hilarious.You must watch it.. |

| So Hughes and Mustang weren't always so close? Both of them seem so out of character in this. Their younger selves, during their time in the academy, do not match what they become hardly at all. I was expecting Hughes gun to be like a BB gun or pellets, something like that. He really pulled a real, presumably loaded, gun on these guys, lmao. Despite being a fairly normal human, Hughes is really impressive in this anime full of characters with superpowers. I may have liked these specials more than I liked Brotherhood. |

| great backstory. didn't know ishabal's were discriminated against from earlier times and it wasn't nice to see. almost makes you wanna hate amestrisians. roy is probably still a virign though. |

| Probably the best one out of the four, or at least the best along with OVA 1. Anyway, glad we got to know more about Hughes, Mustang and the Ishvalan War of Extermination. |
