"Emary, Wilting Flower"

I love the Quin Mantha, that is a bad @ss suit! I'm really tired of all these attempts at breaking into Core 3 to get stuff done. The attempt to rescue Mineva ended up being for nothing. And if I was the Gundam Team, I'd let Glemy and Haman beat each other to death & pick up the pieces.

Another thing that bothered me was Emary's death. Throughout the show @ almost every instance of her appearing she annoyed me. She was always a horrible captain. And her actions made no sense right before her death. Why attack the Quin Mantha when it is obviously leaving already? Her death carried no weight for me b/c she wasn't a likable character and had a senseless death. The females on this show are just really bad.

Meh episode. First of all they screwed up the plan about rescuing Mineva and Emary suffered a pointless death. At least she won't be a threat to Mirai from now on~

I don't understand why suddenly Minerva would turn on Haman who's basically been her guardian for a while now.

And what's with Mashmyre's brainwashing? He's probably theguy most likely to remain loyal to Haman no matter what.

Two enemies fighting each other, so the Argama decides to interfere. Like morons they send their two best pilots, Judau and Roux, on a failed kidnapping mission. An in-character Judau would have remembered the Leina hostage situation and been morally repelled; and an in-character Mineba would have resisted capture, far from being suicidal about leaving.

It's ridiculous how much everyone has been exaggerated. Mashymere moved from carrying a rose to keeping sanity through it. Emary used to just crush on Bright, but now she's dying for him in strategically unfavorable wastes of both human and technological resources.

This Glemi x Haman conflict is getting very intersting! But I didn't understand, why the Argama had to do something? Couldn't they just wait for them to battle and then kill the weakened winner?

Why, Judau, WHY!? Mineva was in your hands, why don't you just run? Haman would try to pursue you with or without her. I bet Mineva is going to have a good "correction".

So, Emaly died. Well, at least Bright doesn't have to worry about cheating on Mirai anymore xD

Whoa whoa whoa nobody in this show makes sense anymore. Why was Mineva such a docile captive and Emaly is still really annoying and dumb and why would Haman bother doing whatever to useless mindless Mushymushy...I do not understand at all. Whatever, at least stupid Emaly died. Bright had better be faithful to Mirai now! I'm so tired of Bright being made a fool on this show.

I did like the interaction between Puru and Puru Two, however. Even though Puru Two was developed as a puppet, maybe she can be talked over to Argama's side. Then there would be two cute Purus. :D

Because he didn't want to take the chance of her getting shot down. Holy shit. This isn't hard to understand. The plan essentially failed when they were spotted by Haman.

I wouldn't exactly say Mineva is OOC because we pretty much know nothing about her personality or thoughts. It's very possible she wants to get out. Everyone else has the Stupid virus, though. Especially Emary who was just asking for it by attacking a retreating mobile suit.

At least, I was correct about Marshmallow. They probably brain-washed him to make him a more capable fighter rather than have more loyalty to Haman.

fujifruit said:

I dare say the plan failed when they sent Judau. Doesn't Judau know by now Haman senses him and thus would make their presence more likely to be know? It's ridiculous that he hasn't figured it out.

Wow what an episode!

Definitely one of the darkest in the series and even better than some episodes of Zeta.

Yeah the rescue plan was a failure since Haman really threaten them to kill Mineva. As for Mineva asking to be rescued by Judau. Do remember she has been alone since Gundam 079 after the death of his father and all.

So of course, she's gonna start acting like this after being alone for so long.

Finally, i'm just glad they got her to speak more. I thought she was gonna stay mute till the end.

Haman and Judau really knows each other. Kamille was only able to get some memories of her with Char, but it seems Judau goes deeper than that.

WTF so that's why Mashymre was acting more serious this time around. He seems to be in the same hypnosis as Chara.

Quin Mantha is a beast. Even better than Puru's Qubeley and Haman's Qubeley combined.

It's like a mixture of Psycho Gundam, Qubeley, and Big O.

And wow when Emaly screamed like that! It reminded me of Zeta deaths. Even the scene was horrifying being blown like that.

Surprise her body was still intact.

Still Puru's smirk is really cold as hell.

Definitely one of the heartless female characters in the franchise.

Shame Emaly won't be seeing Bright, though Bright already had a wife so tough luck.

Still, Bright didn't reminded her that he can't do stuff like this and instead let her cling to him.

I wonder what would Bright feel upon learning Emaly's death.

Amazing episode! Damn we're getting more and more deaths!

Last 3 episodes!! Can't wait!!

It was interesting seeing how Mineva was so quick to leave Haman's care. Maybe that's just because she's a child and wouldn't fully understand what it would mean to make that decision though. And as bad as it sounds, I was glad to see Emary get killed off. She pissed me off the entire show, so not having her around will make ZZ a bit more enjoyable for me.

Also those Doven Wolf mobile suits are so cool. I love them tbh, and just green-ish/teal mobile suits in general. I'm m a bit disappointed we haven't got to see much of them.

So, after all he went through, Judau doesn't mind kidnapping a little girl? Unless he imagined she was in a bad situation (being used as a puppet king) and wanted to free her. Anyway, as soon as Judau was asked to do it, the mission was doomed to fail (they should know better, every character is aware of Judau's bond with Haaman).
Mineva, after so many years of puppetry having Haman as a tutor/regent, after she told the ÆUG less than a year ago she was well served (by Haaman if I remember well), was actually happy to be kidnapped by foes and strangers. That was pretty weird even if explainable since a child can easily change his opinion about his caretaker(s).
Haaman discussion with Judau went a bit smoother than usual, he took the time to hear her even if he rejected her again ultimately. I understood Haman was only exploiting the Zabi name for power purposes but how is she different than Glemy. Sure, I feel like he might be worse than her but it was she who decided the colony collision and she seeks to conquer Earth as well once Neo-Zeon will be powerful enough.

Mashymre revealed to have been enhanced confirms my doubts. I find it interesting enough as a case of human enhancement because we actually know the real person well and even if he doesn't suffer such nervous/identity traumatism as the past cyber newtypes (Zeta), it still saddens me to see him so away from himself (now, I can understand how he was able to lead the colony drop operation).

The battlefield action was entertaining, but I fail to see why the heros had to interfere in the internal strife when it was actually helping them.
Ple Two is not dead yet, and more surprisingly she is interesting! I suppose her Suit is the giant final boss with funnels of this show.

Oh, yes: and Emary is dead in a meaningless way. Good news. I had no interest for this character, I still wonder why she was made so antipathetic if her death was supposed to affect us.

3.5/5

So... four episodes with this one allocated to the final battle between three parties?

@Sapewloth Something will be clearer soon.
Your three other points are irrefutable.

@SakurasouBusters Emary was an airhead husband stealer, so no.

@FMmatron How could you wish for such a thing to happen?! (also, her death surely was a hit among old followers back then, because of she was trying to get in the way of Gundam's emblematic family).

I have trouble believing Mineva would be blind enough to follow her enemies just because Haman doesn't play with her. I can understand her frustation, especially if Haman does frequently leave her alone to deal with politics and military stuff, but the pilots who came for her are clearly from the opposing faction, and the fact remains that Haman has been her guardian for God knows how many years. Looking back on Zeta, in the one episode where we saw her outside of an "official" context she actually seemed to be quite authoritative (episode 39 iirc). So yeah, I ain't buying that.

To be perfectly honest, the entire mission felt completely pointless : we know for a fact that Haman can always feel Judau's presence, so any infiltration mission involving him was doomed to fail. I also fail to understand how Judau would ever get on board with kidnapping a child, even if they didn't intend on harming her. I mean, did he already forget that he spent 2/3rds of the show trying to get back his imouto who was herself being held captive? It's clashing way too much with his own ideals and principles to make sense.

Emary's sacrifice was oddly fitting: unneeded and dumb as fuck, just like her. I won't miss this homewrecker.

It seems everyone's psychopathic transformation is proceeding nicely. I definitely didn't expect Glemy and Mashymre to end up in such a finely messed up state in the beginning of the series. Nevertheless, it is a lot more amusing this way.

Too bad for Emary, though.

Quite good episode. I really enjoyed the first part, the one with the infiltration. The use of dummies to hide the MS never convinces me, instead I don't see why they shuoldn't have chose Judau for the mission. I don't find it odd that he decided to kidnap Mineva (since it's more like "free Mineva" from his point of view probably...and anyway Elle is right), also Judau was the only one able to find the hideout of Haman for sure (and it was really probable that Mineva were near her) and it was all about timing: actually if Mineva's maid didn't go to Haman she wouldn't have noticed in time that Judau was near.
And then, after Judau's dialogue with Haman, the show starts to loose quality. I think Mineva's reaction is too unlikely.
About the decision of Emary/Nahel Argama to join the battle, in my subs before the Hyaku Shiki launch Emary says "Nahel Argama, form a warning line" and immediately after Glemy's ship detect the deployment of MS from the Nahel Argama and Glemy says to attack them. So I think Emary deployed the MS as a defensive measure ("warning line") but Glemy thought it was the beginning of an attack and so the battle started. I have a doubt about this tho: why Emary called for the warning line? Maybe because they were really near the battle zone, or to protect the return of Roux and Judau -not a good idea in the second case...
Talking about Emary, I totally agree with this:
Sapewloth said:

Her death was pointless, put there to increase the level of drama... but since no one loved her as a character, it was a failure.

Fun thing: when Emary dies she screams "Bright!" and at the same time she's surrounded by a bright light ...and that made me laugh while she died...

EDIT
PS: why Emary ordered to form a "warning line" if she didn't have a reason to get involved in the battle, since the deployment of MS could have been mistaken for an attack (as happened)? I gave myself two answers: 1) because they were too near to the battle area, so as a precaution; 2) to protect Judau and Roux's return (but it kinda backfired). Anyway, we are talking about Emary, who shouldn't be captain of anything, so whichever the answer she just made a mistake probably, since the battle could have been avoided

Finally we see how Haman actually interacts with Mashymre.

Federation forces have a fleet? Didn’t seem so throughout the entire show. :D

One thing that keeps me puzzled about Glemy’s rebellion is how did he manage to convince so many people to be on his side. What’s even his reason to rebel that can make regular soildiers and officer sympathize?

Didn’t know that La Vie en Rose could shoot those things, it was cool. And Emary will never see Bright again. Sad. Her death is basically the best thing to come from her, the romcom elements were kinda meh (I neither liked nor hated them). By the way I'm almost certain there's some doujinshi about Bright and Emary having a relationship out there...I won't try to confirm this though haha

Mashymre was “enhanced”? So basically Haman messed with his mind, just like with cybernewtypes?

And why is everybody so puzzled about Mineva's decision? She's a child and children obviously may dislike people that supposedly "care" about them. It's not hard to understand at all, it's not like we can logically explain every child's decision. It might just be spontaneous. I'm curious what'll come out of this little adorable kid. She could've made good friends with Ple, I swear ;_;
I agree though that Judau kidnapping Mineva was not very fitting for his character.

Quin Mantha looked dope, is it a Qubeley-type mobile suit (if such a type exists)?

The closing episodes are promising, especially with the seeds of doubt Ple Two seems to have.

I personally really enjoyed this episode. Emary was pretty annoying for me in previous episodes, so I can also understand why other people would feel the same way, but her death still impacted me a little bit. I think her self-sacrifice to protect the Nahel Argama and everyone else was a nice gesture at least.

So much happened in this episode, I have so much I want to talk about. The battle feels extremely intense, and it certainly feels like the climactic fight is underway. I was also kind of thrown off by Mineva being perfectly fine with the idea of being kidnapped, it was certainly out of left field. I'm not too surprised though since often Tomino is not the best writer in my opinion. Lots of messy writing and flip-floppy poorly written characters. Regardless of that, I still love this, Zeta and the original MSG.

I think even if the last three episodes aren't good, I'll still put ZZ up there (not as high as Zeta or MSG but certainly a bit below them). It still has a lot of great episodes mixed in with some meh or flat out crappy ones. I still think the good and great outweigh the bad however. I absolutely love the Queen Mansa, holy shit. I don't know what it is about it, it just seems so badass and intimidating. There were a few really well drawn scenes in this episode showcasing its power. Puru 2 is legitimately scary with how skilled she is.

My boy Mashymre is acting strangely, and in the preview for the next episode Judau mentions something about Mashymre's multiple cyber enhancements. I know Haman told Illia to watch him and to make sure he doesn't act weird, but prior to this, did we know anything about Mashymre being a cyber-newtype? I find it a bit confusing to be honest.

Rakan feels like a discount Yazan to me, but he is still pretty cool as an enemy. Speaking of Yazan, where is Yazan? I'm pretty sure he's still alive out there somewhere. Same with Amuro, somewhere in space but I don't foresee him showing up in the last few episodes. I also hope at some point we go back to Leina and Sayla, as we got a five second snippet of them a few episodes ago and nothing more.

Okay, I have a lot more I wanted to say but I already wrote so much. Here's to the last three episodes hopefully being great.

Not sure why Emary felt the need to launch the objects at Puru 2. Without that, she probably would have survived...

I guess for Judau is ok to just kidnap a girl a s long as they don't kill her. About Mineva not complaining to leave, it feels a bit forced but considering her age and that I have seen worse in this series...

So Mashmyre has been ehnanced as thus treated as a cyber-newtype? This is odd honestly...
