THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wow, I felt like I was watching an entirely different show from the first half. I wasn't really expecting this series to have two different OP sequences, but they did. I still like the first OP better though. I like the music and sequences in it better. This episode really is worlds apart from the first half, which is I guess why they felt it was necessary to put that recap episode in between this and the previous episode. The world is nothing like what it was when we last saw it, and it's looking like Daichi was the one with evil plans all along. Six months have passed, and Keita was still unconscious for the first half of the episode from the events of their encounter with Reishin. When Keita is revived and all the Terra Guardians are fighting everybody from the Kaionji Group with their artificial Thousands it was cool at first, and then it just started to look funny as everyone kept on shouting exceed as they repeatedly went at the enemies' shields. Even half-conscious Keita seems to be able to power Kuro enough to perform several Exceeds. I wonder how much of his being a sub really is an issue. This is a new arc, and a new storyline. Hopefully it can pick up where the previous could not. Not a bad episode though, one of the first pretty good ones in a while, just a little slow.

Woah it feels so much more different than the previous 12 episodes... I mean Keita is actually being mature. And using exceed like 7 times? Keita's got some insane stamina, if you know what I mean...

Woah, what did I just watch? From the very second of the first scene it felt like it was a really good anime. I really didn't like the new opening song, but the visuals were nice. On the other hand, I loved the ending. Things are finally becoming really interesting.

And on a final note, I really like Kuro's new outfit. :D

Hmm, who would have thought that it will take Kurokami merely 13 eps to become half decent. A fresh restart was just what they needed.
It wasl ridiculous sometimes but it was still the first ep I enjoyed since ep1.

Don't like the new OP music. D: Do like the OP anime.
Do like the ED change.
Great action and battles. Daichi will betray, he look like he do that.
He also made Master roots have other Mototsumitama.
When Kuro x Keita fusion. I yell out at the window "Yata Kuro, yata! Kurushite subete!" When someone ask me, I say this about anime person.
Kuro has nice new dress.
Kuro has a new dress. All like it?

Part where all got me waku waku (excited). Is when the bakabakashi protection breaks.

Wow, looks like Kurokami did a complete 180° and became a watchable show. Anyway this has easily been the best episode of the series, but they should really explain why Kuro can use exceed 15 times while Keita just came out of a coma.

So am I the only one who thought this was a bad episode? They wait until the very end to explain that it's been six months since the last episdode, and that Keita has been in a coma "just cuz." Then they synchronize while he's still in a coma, and proceeds to do more Exceeds than what caused the coma in the first place.

Now, we already know that if you go past your limit as a sub with a Mototsumitama you age. Why does Keita look the same? I just really hate it when shows completely disregard the rules that they created for flashy action, which is what happened here.

Also, I hope you guys aren't fooled that this show is going to continue with this "quality" animation for the remainder of the series. This feels like episode 1 all over again.

I won't be fooled.

well maybe the reason for using exceed so often could be, that he got his share of all that Terra emitted when that Stone was destroyed...but as you say, I hope they'll explain
will the next ep air next week, or do we have to wait again?

Huh? Kuro said that 6 months have passed during the very first scene...

Anyway, I liked this episode. It was interesting to see more of Kuraki's plans and ambitions, and how he has kept Akane in the dark these past months.
Can't wait to see how this arc will play out.

New OP/ED are nice aswell :)

lol not to be disrespectful or anything, but I've noticed you dislike almost every anime that comes out now or has come out in the past year. I think you're expecting to much from shows like this or at the very least over analyzing things that are missing.

PS. at the beginning of the episode it was mentioned that 6 months had passed. It was mentioned again by glasses face as well.

It's my fault I didn't see that they mentioned the 6 months at the beginning. I was eating, but that's no excuse.

As for liking shows, of what I've seen and talked about, off the top of my head, I liked Skip Beat, Zoku and Natsume Yuujinchou, Soul Eater, Mouryou no Hako, Haruhi-chan, Sunred, Kannagi, Nodame Paris, Itazura na Kiss, Birdy 1 and 2, Allison & Lillia, and a bunch of others.

I started off praising Kurozuka, Rideback, White Album, Special A, Xam'd, Casshern, Kuroshitsuji, Nabari no ou, Ryoko's Case Files, Toradora, etc.

For this season, I like Eden, Shangri-la, Guin, FMA, Ristorante, Valkyria, Hayate, and all of them have elements that I find interesting.

It's just that for the sake of discussion, it's easier, and more productive I think, for me to point out the flaw since normally people like to overlook them. Do I think this was a well directed and animated episode? Yes. But no one was really talking about the absurdity of what was going on regarding Keita, and seemingly pinning their hopes up like at the beginning of the series in episode one. I don't believe that this felt like a new show. It felt like the same show with a polished exterior, and I felt someone needed to say it.

Of course, discussion as in discussing what happens in the story. I don't got the right to tell you what you should or shouldn't do, but I'd like to point out that everyone on this topic has likely seen eps 1-12, and are fully aware of what this show is and isn't.

What I was saying was that based off of the tone of the conversation, people seemed to be forgetting that the show started off really flashy, and were saying that the show felt new. I disagreed with that notion. But that wasn't even the meat of what I was talking about. I was talking about the narrative element of not sticking to the rules that you make. You can discuss more than the story. We can talk about the music, direction, animation, etc.

The point I was trying to make is that many of the members here (including myself) are casual anime fans who just try to enjoy what we can get out of it. If the show isn't meet your own standards, then go ahead and rate it a 0 and say you didn't like it, but you don't have to add a partypooper phrase like

noteDhero said:

Well, I personally don't see why a casual anime fan would torrent and discuss individual episodes on a website, but I would say that there are many members who like to discuss episodes, but because of some of the inanity that always happens in forums don't bother to come in.

Honestly, part of my rhetoric it aimed at sparking discussion, especially if I'm bored. I'd like to think that I don't preach, but rather try to engage in a dialogue with anyone who wants to, so if you find my comments preachy, then I'm sorry that you feel that way, but that's never the intent. And as for being a party pooper, like I said, it's not a discussion if everyone is just coming in to talk about the same single thing that they liked about the episode. I just don't see the point in that. If it's an episode where everyone hates it, if I have nothing to add on the "hate it" side, I'll talk about something I liked. Like in the last couple of episodes of Bleach...people seem to hate it, but I didn't and I said something.

Overall the story had a pretty nice start like many had said, but the ending sorta went way downhill. The exceed spams sorta broke the episode. And, I would actually enjoy it better if the story were to continue with the emo mood at the start, I mean that mood sorta disappeared when keita woke up and all.

Theres more to the sub - master complex, from my viewpoint.

Its probably something about free will, choice, possibly love.

The trance song was a little odd, but I enjoyed it all.

Its obvious Daichi has been corrupted by his power and ability to carve the world in his own image, it follows that ideology that many sacrifices lead to a greater good.

I could have had my little rant (just as the next person) about how ridiculous it was with the infinite exceeds and how Keita didn't even break a sweat, but I don't like to state the obvious (even if I usually end up doing just that). Plus I was glad to see a fight that wasn't totally one sided.

But, I'm with you. Let's talk about whether people prefer the stupid, less-than-1-dimensional Keita over the annoying emo Keita (as I think about it, Linebarrels probably had better char dev.) and how terrible this show handles its characters in general, with probably KeitaMom's sub as the best example.

I was thinking there's also the fact that he's been asleep for six months. That must account for some sort of regeneration of Terra.

Wow, saying Linebarrels had better character development when it had little to no development? Can't say I disagree with that statement. But what is emo Keita? The Keita at the beginning of the show? Ok, yea, I'm totally forgetting he was like that in the beginning. Well, I don't know which one I prefer since both are one-dimensional to me (flashback with Daichi nonwithstanding). I don't know what I want to see with Keita that would make me like him, so that really is a difficult question.

It's hard to really consider what this show has spent its time on instead of developing characters. We know the basics about Kuro's past, we know all about Keita by the flashback, nothing really about Ibuki even though she's pretty much a main character, and nothing about all the random Mototsumitama/human pairs. But then, once Daichi gets his real introduction he is instantly interesting, and then in the next episode, they skip 6 months, and now he's just super evil. I wish we could have seen that progression.

If you remember at the beginning Keita was an emo wuss ranting about his feelings right after his ass was just saved. Then at one point he realized he's bored of seeing Kuro getting the s**t beat out of her, so ever since he's shouting "fight-o~" from the sideline and sometimes he's using his magic ring to achieve absolutely nothing. While I found his initial attitude annoying, i think his current version is even more shallow than before.

What I missed that at the start of the ep Kuro looked like this 6 months broke her down and her only remaining purpose for living was to take care of Keita. It would have been a new turn for her character, even if it's not something we've never seen before. At least it could have made her a bit more interesting, since her backstory failed to do that (at least for me). But this imo huge potential wasn't used, and got totally ditched in 10 minutes.

It would have been nice to go the remainder of the show without Keita and spend it on the 6 months in between, with the last few episodes having Keita awaken and save the day with whatever specialness they're going to make up for him.

This show is really as predictable, and almost the same as Shikabane Hime. I still contend that he is some kind of sub we've never heard of before, or he has the ability to absorb Tera from the world around him or some crap. Otherwise, this show is going nowhere.

To be honest, I only liked episode 1 and 2. Then it went downhill extremely fast. These past few episodes where decent but this latest episode made up for some of the suck at the beginning of the series. It really does feel like a different show now.

The only reason why I ever made the comment directed at noteDhero was because I started noticing every new episode thread I looked at for newer anime had him mentioning how he disliked the show lol. It was starting to feel like he was out to spite all forms of anime XD.

I didn't like this episode much, but I did like Kuro's new dress. There are lots of flaws in this anime that people can nitpick at, which is why I don't blame those who dropped this series, but looking at Kurokami from an entertainment and animation perspective is why I like it so much. Although, the fact that Kuro could use multiple Exceeds after Keita just came out of a coma, seemed a little too much for me.

Well average episode. The result of Kuro fighting was predictable as always, what doesn't make this show great. The fight was once again visually awesome and all, but Kuro and Keita winning it was obvious. And what's up with multiple exceeds...

Didn't like the new OP, still liked the first one. Can't believe Kuro went out alone to Okinawa. Keita must of f'ed up his tera pretty badly to stay in bed for 6 months. The new contractees and Mototsumitama seemed very weak. The fake thousands sucks if he was destroyed by Yakumo's punches... On the plus side, Kuro looks a lot better in her new outfit.

The only problem I have with this episode and this anime in general is how Kuro and Keita always manage to come through when things are looking dark. It annoys me when they do that in series. They just manage to break every barrier and exceed everyone's expectations when they're suppose to have a huge disadvantage. Hopefully there'll be some reason behind it all at the end, instead of it just being "good always beats evil".

Other than that I enjoyed this episode. The fight scene with Kuro was great as are most fight scenes in this series, except for the part where everyone begins to win just because she is. And this new storyline could prove to be interesting.

I never like dropping shows, so I'm gonna try and stick this out to the end. All that I was going to post has been said already, such as the Exceed spam. When used too much, people, it takes away from the significance, take Trans-Am for example. Or GN Particles. There can be too much of a good thing. Speaking of which, there were also artificial Particles as there were those Thousands. Whaddayaknow.

Anyway, it was an alright ep. I'm not expecting much anymore, but the apparent villain-switch was interesting. At least we're focusing a little on characters other than Kuro/Keita? Hopefully Excel will be making an appearance soon.

Oh em gee, is this the first time ever that Kuro's Exceed has really worked on someone? If I were her I'd probably go drunk with power at this point, using it on everything. Mook looking at me the wrong way? Exceed. Need to open a door? Exceed, baby.

I agree the narrative logic of how often people can use their superpowers is pretty patchy at this point, but we're watching strictly for the lulz and the fights, so we're not bothered.

Keita being in a coma for six months is very fitting for his character. He eventually woke up, at least.

Kuro's new outfit is sexier than her old one. Good stuff.
