Just wanted to say: sorry if I offended you, all those years ago. I joked about a book you sent me, which I was grateful for, and you helped me with Windows. Plus commented on my shitty blogs. Didn't mean to be a dick.

And I can't believe we had 30-60 paragraph messages. No wonder you stopped using MAL! Now I'm much to lazy. We both learned the hard way.

I don't mind you running away to escape my 30-60 paragraph messages; I always felt the same way. I enjoyed our exchanges but, at the same time, was pained by the endurance required.

All I want to know is this: DID YOU LIKE OCEAN WAVES!?

PS: I hope you're doing ok/aren't dead, and - slightly seriously - I'm sorry for being insensitive about your struggles, if I was.

Happy xmas, early, in case you never revive. I regret to inform you no card was sent.

Me, always in a rush? I do believe you're forgetting the small matter of me still not having answered messages you sent at the start of the previous month. Aging and losing the ability to retain memories - the true tragedy of life as the flame starts to burnout...

And don't change the subject: I do believe we were discussing you sending me Kodocha 1-10, out of affection for me/devotion to me/something.

Just read V3 and stop bit... ok, I'm being insensitive; not taking your gender into consideration - stop moaning. I wouldn't have recommended the series to you if it didn't become insanely awesome, later on. If you need incentive, know that you can read my Gantz blog post without the fear of spoilers, 8.5 volumes in.

You'll HAVE to agree with me about the awesomeness of Gantz once the kickboxing woman takes on the acid-throwing/laser-shooting Buddha statue. THERE'S NO CHOICE!

It seems the bonfire festivities have now passed, going on the fact the dumb bitch is no longer clawing at the living room door. I swear she's more brain-dead than the average yaoi-loving female on this website - she greeted me happily yesterday moaning; even after being beaten within an inch of her life with a slipper, the night before.

After celebrating the explosion noises by finishing some short anime, I'm going to bed for a few. Farewell, until next we type.

No message when you updated your list? I'm insulted.

Yes - it's very sad that Kodocha is OOP. Tragic, almost. But, y'see, that isn't why I linked you to Amazon. Do you see all those cheap used copies that are readily available? I want you to buy them, put them in a large box and send them to Warsaw.

You're mistaken if you think my £6.33 generosity was an act of kindness - it was a future investment. After my 'supportive' email, where I decided to type about NHK to you, awakened your maternal instincts, you're sure to feel a combination of affection and pity, and this will lead you to buying Kodocha for me.

Do you see how smart I am, now?

As for the scans, I have them downloaded in case I feel the urge to read, whenever I manage to finish the anime. If it's as fillerized as I'm expecting, then it'll prove difficult for me to handle 51 episodes without Bailey talking non-stop/rapping. Switching voices and...

...wait a sec, my dog is still crying like a bitch, at 12 AM. Time to beat her with a slipper. Brb.

I give up tonight, I really do: the next door neighbor just knocked the door and handed me a half-empty bottle of milk, after coming back from the pub... leading to dog crying like a bitch over her bald love, instead of fireworks.

...where was I? Voices. It's going to be horrible reading subtitles after listening to the series in English for 51/102.

About the filler: I might be ever so slightly off with my comments. According to the volume three/four (can't remember) description, it sounded like the first 19 episodes only covered up to around there, roughly. How could so little manga content have been included when everything seemed decently/fast-paced? Sana rapping adds a few minutes each episode, but still...

A good chunk of the early Gantz content, in-between the games, fleshes out the leads. If I recall, Kato is the first male in the series to suffer from the topdog in his school being huge AND a queer. (Oku has something about school subplots involving queer gym teachers.) You've already had a taste of Tits' suffering. And Kurono is deeply troubled by his penis craving to be inserted into holes. Even the supporting cast get time... though I can't remember how much time is anime filler.

Pet is aimed at women who finger themselves over the prospect of 'owning' a ladyboy. Even if it's to better understand you, I don't think I really want to go THAT far...

Yakumo isn't great. The first few episodic stories were simplistic and hard to care about. The following stories have been a little better, but I'm troubled by how the villains look like they're ready for an anime convention. And Yakumo's 'daddy' talking about the true darkness contained within human hearts, in the usual evil villain way, makes my eyes roll.

Have you read Ghost Hunt, yet? It's the +1/2 version of Yakumo, and was written by the author of Twelve Kingdoms. The heroine's fiery/likable/expressive and her relationship with Naru the Narcissist is entertaining. I'd recommend the anime since it's cheap as chips thanks to Funi's budget release and has MUCH improved art than the shoujo it was based on, but you don't watch anime.

Goodbye - I go sleep now.

AironicallyHuman Nov 3, 2010 4:19 AM
...what did I neglect to say last night when you abused my kindness by delaying my early morning anime session......

1: Early on it might not be readily apparent, but Kurono's growth as a person is believable enough to ground Gantz in *SOME* realism. Everything else is crazy, and the fact everyone other than the lead has the possibility of death keeps the games gripping, but his thought process and the changes he goes through make him a contender for best character ever. It's surprising when Oku only cares about big boobies and, later, the series supposedly enters a dark brown phase, but there we go.

V1 is really just an introduction; a set-up volume. So, I eagerly await your future Gantz thoughts, and I might even listen to a rec of yours in return if you progress far enough.

2: I probably wasn't crystal clear about why, exactly, the last 4/5 episodes of Kodocha I watched irked me so much, after I loved 1-19. Before the start of episodic shorts involving Sana's little sister going missing and orphanage visits, each arc lead into the next perfectly; scripted without seeming scripted. First Sana overcame the bully, then she became nosy and solved his family crisis, then Akita fell hard for the helpfully nosy one; highlighting that Rei wasn't really her boyfriend, and then he returned the favour to Sana by being there for her in her time of need - when her mother released her book of secrets. There not being any progress after that point - after Sana trusted Akito enough to sleep in his room for comfort, when staying with him - seriously bugged me. I don't want to watch filler-esque episodes about Sana not being good at math - I WANT TWEEN LOVE!!!!

3: I feel stupid for caring so much about the love lives of fictional 11-year-olds. I blame Akito not sounding 11 AT ALL and Sana having more maturity than most adults... love/mating density aside, that is. When I'm getting angry over potential main relationship ruiners simply entered the picture and getting in the way, it means I care too much - it means the author has done a great job.

Will type a little about Alita if I win the auction. I don't mind letting you waste your time explaining but I don't wanna waste my time until I know I will 100% be reading it. I have my poor back to consider.

PS: You have NHK as a reference when giving advice to me about my problems. It's unfair that I don't have a manga to read to know how to give you advice. I've got most my knowledge from back-to-front comic books, so I kind of need you to throw me a bone, here...

PS2: lol @ you taking my last line of the GMail-thing seriously. And well done being the one person I've used an IM-thing on in years - I wasn't lying about that. My brain is not made to handle those conversations where you say a little, bit at a time, waiting for the other party to respond. My 20-60 paragraph messages probably already alerted you to this truth.

PS3: Since you care...

PS4: I'm gonna Google to find your boss and inform her about these comic book chats you have at work if you don't send me Eden 8-9. Seriously. Don't push me.

Going to bed now, but your stalking impressed me - messaging me within minutes of me updating my list before fucking off to bedfordshire. I'll have to remember to look out for the green light, next time you ignore me for weeks on end.

Here are a few bits that wouldn't have worked in the GMail-thing:

This makes me sad: Kodocha OOP

Here's my favourite ending, and I'll leave you to ponder the deep meaning behind it, for I reveal no spoilers:

(I'm sure you can appreciate Spanish subs.)

^ More Sana rapping.

Goodbye/morning.

Hello.

I too am sorry for not responding to both your previous message and email. Outside of attempting to stop a certain someone crying like a baby because of neglect (he sent me DVDs to get me to type ;___;), I've been bad at responding to everyone, equally - so much so that I've made Yoro die... again.

Kodocha is awesome. Almost too awesome. The bizarre opening left me lost for words, and the characters ages did worry me at first, but it quickly became apparent that Sana never shutting up makes her one of the best characters ever and her chemistry with poker-face Akito is great. I was taken aback by just much development time got fitted into the first six or so episodes; Sana converting Akito from being a mean ol' bully AND solving his family crisis. You're 100% right when you say it's far more adult than other shoujo mush I've read, where blushing and rape attempts are constants. After the early bonding of the lead duo, it freaked me out that Sana's mom allowed her to sleep with a tramp/allowed a tramp to stay, on her tween daughter's say-so, but that aside I totally <3 the series. I'll bet you I'll be at 24/102, when I next log-in.

It does confuse me how a ten volume manga could possibly get a 102 episode adaptation, though. No idea how that worked when, if anything, the first 12 episodes seemed fast-paced - quite possibly because of how much fun the series is.

The most depressing thing for me is that Funimation only released 51/102 episodes on DVD. You know what this means? NO SANA/BAILEY RANDOMLY RAPPING AFTER THAT POINT ONWARDS!!!11!!!

You're busy; I'm not. I'm refreshing my MAL page; you're ignoring me. Same old, same old. I'm too used to it now to get angry. And 'Roy' has me well trained: him/her/it ignoring me for months. There's no need to lie about the internet going down.

I hope you enjoy Gantz. Really, I do. At the point I'm at, Kurono has just survived being chased by multiple T-Rex's shooting power-balls from their mouths at him, by riding on a single-wheel bike... thing. From the start, the series gradually becomes more and more intense, and everything comes full circle during the epic Buddha battle towards the end of the single digit volumes. Male or female, it doesn't matter: the action is far too compelling for gender differences/boob service to matter.

I'll look forward to reading your Gantz insights/boob-size complaints. Be sure to watch out for Kei's introduction and time how long the first rape attempt takes.

I might type more later, in response to your now outdated postings. Depends on my mood. Lately, all I feel like doing is updating my info, then escaping from my stalker/best internet friend-person.

Goodbye.

I cba to type much of anything atm. Instead, here's a Gantz anime review from another UK fella:

Seriously: just start the manga. I want to read your thoughts, and you haven't started anything I've told you to in AGES. That pisses me off. Idc about your real-life stresses - I just want 20+ paragraphs about comics.

On a totally random note, I figured this might tempt you to give Gantz time: http://read.mangashare.com/Gantz/chapter-129/page003.html

Far too lazy to do what I usually do and respond to five paragraphs with ten, at the minute. It seems my recent anime watching has left me totally burned out; forcing me back to my bed & lamp for some manga reading. But I'm so much of a lazy sod that even reading is too much for my brain, at times...

Just so you know, the Denpa-people are currently angered by the fact the OVA is set to end at two episodes, completely unfinished. The good news for you is that you'll be able to add a finished anime to your (pathetic, tbh) anime list, after all of two episodes. The bad news is that it's all ultimately a bit pointless without an ending. Still worth watching for a tingly first episode, but pointless, nonetheless.

I wouldn't expect a box sent from the UK to the US to arrive so fast; even though I did pay £6.33 to send it by air, for added speed. Without getting my ball(s?) out to check, I'd say it'll be with you sometime during the first half of next week... unless some dumbfuck misreads my 7 in 407 for a 1; you're screwed, then, 'cause I'm not paying £15 + £6.33 again unless you look good and send pictures to prove it.

Not sure why you'd look in my direction when thinking of psychotic school girls that avoid having personalities, but ok?...

I'm going to go back to being depressed over my general lack of motivation for breathing now. Goodbye.

PS: School Rumble is one of the few comedies I/Aion likes. It's hilarious; Harima unwittingly building a harem and never coming close to getting it on with the one girl he likes. (I <3 Eri, btw. Tsunderes FTW.)

Edit 2: Since I cba to type about Higurashi...

AironicallyHuman Oct 6, 2010 8:39 PM
You want me to block/delete you and regret sending you a £6.33 (don't feel the need to offer to cover the cost) package, with your latest avatar change, don't you?

That line has been there for at least a week now. Maybe two; I can't even remember when I finished MI. Too much anime; too much time. I fear your observational skills are not the best...

Denpa's first episode twist made me go all tingly. Psychotic school girls have that effect on me. It's a sure thing you'll like it, if not School Days, whenever you're done with Higurashi.

By the by, does Higurashi start to make sense, in S2? Do the green-haired twins - the only girls in Higurashi it didn't seem wrong to mentally violate - appear frequently? Is it good? The bomb business at the end of S1 put me off starting S2...

I'm glad you didn't send me 20+ paragraphs tonight/this morning/whatever. I don't even want to know how long it took me to get up to date with my fans.

My harem plans were kinda ruined when all the young girls on MAL realized I'm not the most sane pervert around; what with my rambling and all. Now, I view the men who ask for my hand of friendship as submissive ladies. Ignorance is bliss.

I'm going to bed now, for a few. Goodbye.
AironicallyHuman Oct 5, 2010 7:54 AM
Fuck, I KNEW I forgot something, this morning: http://myanimelist.net/anime/5177/Denpateki_na_Kanojo

Psycho school girls holding weapons; gory murders; plot twists - all the good stuff from Higurashi. The twist at the end of the first episode will set you up nicely for School Days.
