I like the slow development of the characters and the mood of the show... although the end was pretty shocking! I wonder if the new commander is going to be a problem for Jinto and Lafiel..

Judging by the preview, it seems like there won't be any real issues with the new commander. The pace of this show is slow as usual, but it's one of the reasons why I'm enjoying this.

I'm hoping they will make Diaho their ship's mascot.

I just can't bring myself to like the Abh . . . I mean, they kind of sold out entirely. Somehow I just can't shake the feeling that the upper brass in the Abh don't even see the still normal humans as anything but annoying ants. I'm also not sure why they find it so dire to own the entirety of space, including trade and whatnot. I mean, the Humankind alliance or whatever is retarded too, but I feel like the Abh and the alliance only cause trouble for the majority of people just trying to live a life on one of the planets.

I guess what bothers me is how the Abh changed their genes like that, I don't feel they can any longer be considered human.

Well hopefully the idiot baron's father cleared things up with the sister. Hope she doesn't give them a hard time.

Hmm. This is seeming like it will be more plot-based than the previous season was. The characterization and dialogue is still good, but I'd like the focus to be shifted more in that direction sometime soon. We had that more or less from the get-go in the first season, and it along with the exploration of the setting and Abh culture is what made the first season so good imo.

One area I'm seeing potential for is exploring the Abh's individuality. We didn't see a lot of it in the first season aside from Lafiel, and it's still quite clear that their culture is built more around the whole than the individual, but we're still seeing more indications of rather unique, even emotive Abhs like Commander Spoor. I'm drawing a decent amount of amusement from her this time around, as odd as it may be in a war setting.

Well, that President asking her to help him get elected again was equally ridiculous and amusing.

I'm not too concerned about Jinto and Lafiel's group having issues with their new commander, for now.

The president trying to get reelected during the war is pretty ridiculous.
Of course, he is also unlucky to have contacte Spoor which seems to be "craziest" commander.

Also what do they eat on that planet ?!

I don't think Atosurya will mind the Baron's death much. He was lost in his own world and isolated from the rest of the Abh even when he was first introduced, and didn't particularly seem like the type to care much about communicating with them. There was his intentions to betray them and side with United Mankind as well, of course.
