| There are people who complain that they didn't get their dark, gritty and mature Gundam, but they're just being delusional. That's never going to happen. There are people who bring Gundam money, and then there are people who bitch about it in the forums. Guess who Sunrise cares about? At best it might happen as an OVA like with Unicorn or something, but do these complainers even know what it is or what the next potential project would be? Most likely they don't. Get a reality check folks. Anyway, this wasn't too bad for what it is. I feel bad for the broken gunpla, though. |
| I pretty much liked it so far, those models of Gundam were pretty cool though. The fight simulation was also cool. Though getting used to the story, well since it is the first episode and some characters were enjoyable to watch. Well I'll stick into this. |
| I totally can imagine what happened when they planned this series... Sales A: Our Plamo sales are plummeting, the random mechs we introduced in 00 arn't selling as well as we had hoped. Sales B: I say its because the designers are running out of juice, its the same old gundams as always, and now we just add random trinkets here and there. Sales A: Then wouldn't it be better if we just advertised for the gundams that actually is good? Director: Its decided then, the next show will be a showcase of all the old "classical" gundams, lets also make sure they break so that we can indoctrinate the viewers to breaking them so that they will buy new ones~ |

| This is the first time I've ever seen any Gundam anime, and I really liked it. It felt really nostalgic for me, like watching Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade as a kid. It seemed sorta childish in that respect, but for some reason I really enjoyed that. Fast paced battles, no complicated storyline, and some cool-looking characters - it all just seems super fun. I could get into this, by which I mean I already did. |
| My guess is that after Age flopped, they are trying something else. This will, most likely, also flop, since Sunrise seems to think that the reason Age flopped was because people don't want serious Gundam shows anymore. I don't know who's in charge on Sunrise right now, but they should really look into what makes some Gundam shows sell, and try and do that. As for this series, it looks absolutely gorgeous. There's a lot of detail put into the Gundam fights, and seeing so many different Gundams in a singe show is really awesome. Sadly, I can't get behind it, because, well... it's just a game this time. The battles are about as "tense" as other sports show. And this is what this really is: a sports show with Gundams, used a giant toy commercial. |

Anyway, this series is average at best in my opinion. Fights were decent and Ramba Ral's cameo was pretty funny, but characters are as dumb as expected, along with idea to use some special "patricles" that make fighting between models possible. Well, it's not surprising given the targeted demographic, but still they could've done so much more. Would rather see another serious show, than this. |

| Liked it a lot. Both Sei and Reiji already seem like way better kid characters than Kyo was and all the little references were great. When Sei actually started talking about the plot of Wing Gundam within the show I was kind of taken aback. I guess in this universe all the Gundam shows really did exist as they do in ours, which is kind of an interesting twist. Also I swear that smug mushroom haircut kid had a Titans button pin (or maybe it was Neo Zeon, I have to go back and look) on his shirt which was a nice touch. Ramba Ral cameo goes without saying. If the action keeps up like it did in this episode and we start seeing kitbashes and units from other series this is going to be very fun. It's a good time to be an anime fan again this season. It'd also be interesting to see if the can avoid giving the girl a pink mobile suit this time (Qubeley would be acceptable though) but we'll cross that bridge when the time comes as it's unclear if she'd even be interested in competing in the tournament though it seems unlikely she isn't going to join at some point considering she already shows interest in Sei. Gundam unfortunately has a fandom sub-group to it that is obsessed with keeping up a tough guy image and are totally intolerant towards anything but the hard gritty military sci-fi world of Universal Century. Personally it's my favorite too since I think it's the most well realized universe and most fleshed out (it's undeniably the latter really due to sheer content), but I've come to appreciate the Gundam concept in general over the years and the production that usually goes into it. Plus just because a show is aimed at a younger audiences doesn't mean it can't be good. For example Gundam AGE was unpopular in it's final arc do to some really loose and nonsensical writing for Kyo Asuno's motivations and as well as the villains and that's why it has an IMO deservedly poor reputation, not because it was aimed at a younger audience. Some people would try to tell you it's demographic target was the reason, but then they're just not thinking hard enough about the issues that matter and only thinking in terms of their own insecurities and simplistic reasoning. Anyway Dmonhiro who posted in this thread in particular is one of those people I've come to the conclusion should never be listened too when it comes to opinions and recommendations IMO. Just figure that's worth throwing out there. |

Mobile Suits from all series are now together in one and the possibilities for vs duels just seem endless with so many Mobile Suits to choose from. Really good 1st episode I enjoyed it alot the fight scenes were really nice but Wing Gundam getting owned by the Gyan (which looks good in Anime form not in model kit form though :D) was hard to watch. |

| I didn't have the highest expectations for this show and it seemed like a blatant commercial, however, the first episode was actually pretty entertaining. The animation was nice, the characters were decent enough, and the soundtrack fit well. I'm excited now about seeing where this goes. |

| Now this was really entertaining. The fanservice was great. Wing getting owned by a Gyan was delicious. And nice seeing Ramba Ral haha. Hopefully he'll say his "This is no Zaku boy, no Zaku!" line. Wonder which direction it will go. They seem to have introduced "magic", so it may get a "darker" YGO-like tone later on. |

| Well first episode wasn't terrible but uninspiring. Characters aren't catching my eyes save for Reji and I'm not the biggest fan of a main who has to leech off someone else's skills. Hope fully the action picks up because thats the only good reason to watch this toy commercial really, the story looks like it's gonna be Beyblade with Gundam's basically. That said the animation of the mecha is nice and I like the Build Strike's main form, looking forward to seeing it's packs. I just hope this doesn't become has horribly formulaic and boring as the last tournament Gundam they tired... |

| As a Gundam Fan I came in with low expectation after Gundam Age. However, that changed as I saw some nostalgia in it along with some beautifully animated Gundams such as the GP01FB and GP02 and Exia, etc, etc. Loved the Cameo of Ramba Ral. I enjoyed the episode as a kid and as an adult. Just hoping to see Exia in action and osme other 00 Suits along with some RX-79 Ground Gundam (Personally if this game existed I would piloting the RX-79 Ground Gundam for a LONG time especially in Team Ground Battles!) Another thing that brought a smile to my face was a Dijeh completely wrecking Freedom. (Seriously that suit is over-rated to the highest level...) Damn good Kid show overall! Sei's mom is one hell of a MILF! <3 |

They turned the Gundam into this.. a game. a Battle. not like the other gundam like the Gundam SEED or the Gundam OO. This one is different. Even though, I like it a little bit, I'm still disappointed. Ugh! I'm still watching it though :D |

If that other "serious" show is Gundam AGE, I would gladly choose this over that in any day. The problem with Gundam AGE is not that it's "hard" to understand for kids. The problem with it is that it is stuck in a really bad transition phase between a children series while attempting to be serious with a very bad writing. This resulted in a series that didn't have a clearly defined identify of its own. At the end, it did not appeal to the children, nor did appeal to the adults. Also, you have to admit: the story really sucked hard regardless if it's a kids show or not. A kids show can have a really good story too but AGE does not fall into that category. Look at the OVA, it's much much better than the main series. That's how AGE should have been. Also, mecha design in AGE was absolutely horrible. Not the worst I have seen but way down there. I would not want to build ANY gunpla from AGE. Let's not transform this into a Gundam AGE bashing thread but everyone, including me, can't help but compare them. And so far, G Build Fighter has the upper hand in my book. |

| LOL the Hot Shounen Mom trope is inescapable. After the embarrassment that was AGE, this wasn't so bad. At least its not trying to be something it isn't. I'm enjoying it right now, though Sei seems too beta to be a main character. Hopefully I won't have to see that moptop again though, because that guy was annoying as shit. "Hey I'm just going to keep kicking your ass until you become my partner!" <--- Who does that even work for? :P |
