Ooh, angel combat? I was kinda looking forward to this. I used to watching Supernatural on TV so watching Angels fight so it brings back some nostologia.
Okay ending I guess. Hope William can join this conflict soon.
This episode took many liberties regarding the manga, especially since they combined 2 important events and changed everything.
Changes made, contains manga spoilers of things that won't be animated:
- In the manga William discovers the ring without Kevin or Michael noticing it.
- There is a reunion in Hell regarding Lucifer who seems to be on the verge of dying so the substitute King would become the second Lucifer.
- The opening hints that the above will be animated so I won't give details but after the huge commotion due to William and his ring, Michael orders Kevin to force ecstasy on him.
- Kevin and William go to Ascot (Uriel's domain). William starts remembering about his childhood and asks Kevin when did he start working as his butler, Kevin makes a strange face and says that shortly before William's parents death.
- William feels happy since he can read articles and books peacefully with no one disturbing him. He dreams of his childhood (the flashback at the start of the episode) and when he wakes up he realizes that Kevin should've been in university during that time so he wonders how was he in that place at that time.
- Meanwhile, the 3 demons are sent to Paris where a massacre is happening. After the ring incident, the election has been halted so Astaroth tells Dantalion to forget about what happened regarding the ring and focus on this war in Paris.
- William is reading the news about the massacre in Paris and about how the government wants to reduce the age of the death penalty. He has a conversation with Kevin about sins and punishment. William tells Kevin that punishment is not really needed but what is needed is to deal with desire. Kevin remembers Solomon's words which were similar.
- William admits that he can't deny the existence of demons anymore and wants to study about Heaven and Hell. Kevin asks him if he wants power to defeat demons and is about to force ecstasy on him but stops.
- Michael has a meeting in Heaven with other Archangels, he isn't happy about what's happening in Paris because that place is his territory where his faith in him is the strongest. One of the angels, Metatron, talks to Michael after the meeting and notices that Michael should rest soon otherwise he will fade. Michael is annoyed by him.
- We see the flashback of Uriel and Solomon. After that Kevin does the ecstasy on William but fails. In order to know why is this, he introduces himself on William's soul and sees that the reason William rejects God is linked to his parents' death. In that scene we see the dead bodies of William's parents and someone trying to kill William but the flashback stops right when the silhouette is about to stab William and Kevin is pushed back. Raguel then appears like in the anime to tell Kevin that he has to kill William.
- Unlike the anime, reverend Crosby is the one who fights against Gilles.
- William wakes up and encounters a man in his balcon, this man is Samuel Lidell Mathers. In previous chapters we saw that this guy abandoned the Church of England, where he worked as an exorcist but got fed up and is looking for work under the name of Count Glenstrae. He reveals this to William.
- He offers to become William's mentor and teach him about magic impartially, without Heaven or Hell's influence since he is just a human. William tells him that he will consider it. After that count Glenstrae stops the fight between Gilles and the reverend .
- After the war in Paris ends, Camio and Dantalion suspect that a coup d'ètat is taking place in Heaven and caused this little war in order to weaken Michael.
- The scene changes to Metatron, who comments that he wants Michael to drop dead already.
The preview indicates that they'll adapt the short chapter about the cooking contest between the Sheep Butler and Goat Butler.
That archangel Michael did hideous things. So did Uriel to Solomon in the past, which was shocking. Wonder if he would've killed William as well if that devil had not appeared. Ironically an angel was about to harm a human whilst a devil tried to save him. And of course Dantalion the unbeatable showed up at the end to shoot the trouble as expected.
Michael sent someone that sounds like saint maiden to attack demon world while sending FukuJun's character to kill Realist, but failed. Interesting story of why Toriumi-san's character became demon, to torture saint maiden. His berserk was stopped by the main demon, though. Looks like it was FukuJun's character who punished Solomon instead.
I ♥Two Syaorans from Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and TRC!!!
Wow, this episode was really good and action-packed! I love this series more and more with everyminute!! I really hope there'll be a season two, there are so many more characters and back-stories to be introduced.
Nice to finally find out "Uriel" 's secret; I also found the ending hint about Sytry's comment of "That's what happens when you let your guard down" about William's shirt being undone in his sleep hysterical xD..gosh I love this anime ^_~!
Ooh, angel combat? I was kinda looking forward to this. I used to watching Supernatural on TV so watching Angels fight so it brings back some nostologia.
This episode brought back some memories of Supernatural for me as well :d. Both are adding more depth to the angels vs demons tale, rather than keeping it black and white.
Lyyu said: Jeanne d'Arc appeared attacking the demon world LOL
I didn't expected that
I kept on thinking about the game and how the demons were her 'real' enemies instead of humans. XD
"Do you know where hell is? Inside your head" - Chrona=
"If the king doesn't move, then his subjects won't follow" - Lelouch Lamperouge
"If you pretend to feel a certain way, the feeling can become genuine all by accident" - Hei
"I want chocolate! No need for love!! Just give me sugar!!!" & "If you have time to think of a beautiful end, then live beautifully until the end" - Sakata Gintoki
Excellent episode B-). Best one in the series so far, feel they focused on the story more. The fights were really good as well. I'm looking forward to when William puts on the ring.
Lol, William couldn't experience ecstasy because he wasn't religious.
But at least he has the ring now!
A saint named Jeanne appeared and she brought Heaven's army to Hell with the power of virginity. She has experienced ecstasy and became Heaven's pawn. She seems to have a past that involves Gilles de Rais.
Speaking of Gilles de Rais, he's gone a bit insane that Dantalion had to stop him in the end because Uriel and Raguel couldn't.
Speaking of Uriel, he seems to have a past that involves Solomon.
And something's up with Michael.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.
I've noticed this for a while, but as it nears the end of the series, it becomes a little more obvious that the fights in this series are really bad, if you consider them fights. It's more of the story that matters, the fights don't really have any good animation and there aren't really any moves besides the shooting of some beams, haha.
Great episode! Everyone is unmasked and heaven and hell clash. Michael is one viscous angel and Uriel is definitely his whippin' boy. I can see the point of the series is to portray demons as the protagonist here. Classic 'BS', but it has a creative twist.
Question - can one experience true ecstasy and maintain their virginity? I think not.
