i was impressed with Badgiruel actually doing the right thing there in the end, didn't think she'd be able to stop blindly following orders and actually defy that psycho.

too bad coming to self realizations for her and Flay came to late for them to further act on their change in their personalities :(

You guys are getting ahead of yourselves. Flay isn't dead...yet. And one of the "biological cpus" survived until the episode 50.

Think of that, a pilot in one mobile suit managing to 'absorb' (well, he did get destroyed, but still) the superweapon of a heavy assault cruiser. I'd say they got the 'More agile than a jet, more heavily armored than a tank and more heavily armed than a battleship' which they were looking for when making the mobile suits.

Wow. Mu La Flaga's sacrifice made me cry. I'm a guy, and I like never cry, even when I try.

Natarle took too long to choose the right path, but at least she did at the very end.
Cagalli's not a natural!? Though I guess it shouldn't be that surprising, considering her brother isn't.

Yes Azrael, shoot Natarle, the commander of the ship and that'll definitely get you somewhere =_= I'd shoot that guy first if I was her. And yes Azrael, shoot her some more to force her to open the door, because then she will definitely open it for you. What a desperate guy.

Honestly, this was the saddest episode in this anime (unless the last episode is even worse...?) I cried loads when Mu died...NOOOO! WHY?!?! He was honestly my favorite character in GS! T__T And Natarle's death...both of them were noble in the very end. Seriously, she had to suffer being shot multiple times, yet she stood her ground for what she believed to be the right thing to do, even though just a little too late.

Sorry can't help it. The episode count for the remastered version is not the same as the original one.

Oh lol it's okay XD I realized afterward that it might've been because I was watching the remastered version. It's actually not that big of a deal since we explicitly see them go into seed mode for like 2 seconds anyways.

I'm a bit disappointed that Strike didn't launch with all gear in the remaster like during the Orb battle.

Nooo Mu and Natarle too? ;_; Oh well, atleast Azrael is gone. He won't be missed, but I must admit he played the role of slime ball pretty well.

What's with Yzak getting all the kills all of a sudden? After all the trouble they've been giving Kira and Athrun I was sure they'd be the ones dealing the finishing blow.

The drama is too much, my heart cannot handle the loss of all these characters. I feel for Ramius. And I think Le Creuset felt something too when he felt Mu die. Even if he won't admit it.

Noooooo, not Muuuu!! Why, one of the best characters?! And to top it off poor Captain Ramius is alone again. That woman deserves some happiness!

It took Natarle too long to work thing out. She could have prevented a lot of this if only she'd listen to her conscience earlier instead of blindly following orders.

I was very surprised that the non-Seed or new generation Gundam equipped Yzak was the one who took out one of the crazies. I guess it takes one to take another one out, LOL.

Almost masterpiece!
This is the first thing that comes to mind watching this episode.
Even more compelling narrative of the previous episode, I remember almost the end of AGK, but here it goes very well with a tale of bloody and sadistic at the right point.
What we are told is shown in a masterly manner, not just to the scene; this is the real secret of this TV series.
Too bad it is out of the picture Mu, although I had an inkling already long ago, but I hoped would not happen.
Totally unexpected death of Natarle which chagrin.
Drawings and animations good, but too bad he recycled a little too certain scenes.

This episode was nothing short of badass! Finally, those three Earth mobile suit guys are defeated, Azrael is maddened to insanity and then destroyed thanks to Natarle and the Archangel, and the action just got cooler! Hell, Yzak actually did something COOL for once!

Bye Mu, and those cute girl pilots.

It literally takes 2 pilots to co-ordinate an actual successfull kill on any of the biological CPU's at once, they were actually really skilled and able to fight on par (and in some episodes) completely overpower SEED mode Kira and Athrun.

Given how the western fandom constantly says that "Gundam Seed is one of the worst anime ever", I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a rather decent show. In fact, I'd probably put it up there among the top Gundam AUs. Seed had a few problems (Kira and Waltfield inexplicably surviving their mobile suits exploding, rushed romances), but they were minor and didn't aggravate me like the constant hypocritical preachiness or WTH moments of Wing and 00. Most of the cast was likeable. In fact, it'd probably easier to list the characters I didn't like (namely the three Earth Forces mobile suit pilots who get introduced in the last 1/3rd of the show).

There are only really two bad things about Seed:

1. like all Gundam shows, there is just far, far too much standing around and contemplating boring philosophy and morality for my liking. No Gundam show after the Tomino trilogy really has had anything new to say on the topic and just regurgitates the same musings over and over. Yes, this drama so you want downtime in between fights, but the downtime doesn't need to be the same boring monologues over and over again. Dragonar had entertaining stuff going on in between fights like the pilots chasing after girls, or the pilots planning their tactics, and so on.

2. Little to no stakes. The show has a strong start with the attack on the colony, the Archangel's crew being wiped out, and everyone desperately trying to survive, and the initial pursuit of the Archangel. But then they go down to Earth and the episodes tick away, and nobody has died. A couple minor side characters die about halfway through the series, and then that's it. Without actual stakes, each battle starts feeling less like an actual threat, and more like filler. Either the show should have been shorter, or the writer should have manned up and killed off more characters along the way.

Overall, a good-ish 7/10. Very enjoyable show and likeable characters, just too much filler for my liking and too little tension for most of the show's duration.

Question: what happened to Kuzzey? He got off the Archangel while at Alaska, right? So did he manage to fly out of Alaska in time before the base got nuked?

How did Lacus acquire all of her resources?

They killed off mad characters in this episode. And I'm not talking about about the poor souls that were turned into living fire cracker. Holy shit, named characters died left and right and I was happy to see that it was finally time for Azrael to follow suit, even tho Natarle had to sacrifice herself for it. Badass way to go out for sure, respect. And I lol'd when Azrael slapped Flay. Didn't like him, but well done xD

Firing the laser that costed La Flaga his life was on the other hand was foul play. Leaves a bad aftertaste that such a sleazy bitch took two characters with him. Or perhaps it made him a great villain, I guess it depends how you look at it. Although, I like to complain, I'm rather in the latter camp.

Awesome episode.

P.S. Props to Yzak for kicking ass.

As sad as Natarle and Mu dying was, I can't say it was unexpected. Mu was the highest on my "going to die" list and Natarle was close by. I do think their deaths were handled well at least. Also thank goodness those ridiculous CPUs are dead, I was waiting for that to finally happen. Overall, wonderful episode that builds up well into the finale.

That fact actually worried me as I thought I had mismatched posts with the episodes. Thankfully, I didn't (I think), but that is annoying. Don't know what they could do to fix it though.
