In short: an experimental project to test out their new (directing and writing) style, whether it will work out or not. If you were enjoying it then it works, otherwise then yeah, they still have a long way to go.

Really, story is not the point. I still remember reading a certain fanfic work which is very very abstract at the point that you won't understand a single damn thing at all. But strangely, it still made me (and lot others) laugh out loud. Pretty mysterious indeed.

I didn't really get what was going on, but the art and stuff are pretty good, and I liked all the characters except for Koto-sama >.>

It would be better if this had been an OVA/TV anime/movie instead of just 25 minutes ONA~

It was an enjoyable ride... I wonder if they have a series or more OVAs planned after this, cause there's just so much left in the open and leaving you asking what the hell just happened. If this was only planned to be a one-time thing, the writers should of done a better job making a stand alone coherent plot along side the great action scenes.

Still better than 95% of the anime out there though. 8/10

this was so crazily insanely random, and i didnt understand nothing except the fact that the monk raised 3 kids and Koto is a host for the other Koto (reincarnation?). Perhaps we´ll have a pedo monk with Koto.

Anyway...

Amazing Ride. Definitely unique and i dont know why but it gave me a Alice in wonderland x Summer wars feeling. Great animation.

Want moarrrrr~~~~

Note, what you all watched were pre-airings.

The actual airing starts on December 10th 12:00PM Tokyo Time (18:00 on youtube/nicovideo), and something may (or may not) change.

I'm sure it's still going to be only 1 episode though.

definitely a wtf show. i even thought it was a full season series or at least there's more than 1 episode.

but got the hang of it after watching it twice.
this sort of anime is really nice to watch again and again =w=

glad that Koto is voiced by Rie Kugimiya. it was perfect.

great animation. a lot of it can go into anime scene compilation.

Do you know what that means?

This was just a total mindfuck, and not in a good way like FLCL was for me.

IF they are gonna do a TV series or an OVA, I'll have to think twice before watching it.
I was not bored out of my mind, but I wasn't impressed either.

That was beyond awesome. Like an FLCL + Summer Wars + a dash of Spirited Away and a whole load of insanity and crack.

A full series on this could be amazing but it might also ruin the mindfuck so I guess I'm happy with this much.

8/10

No rating since it obviously can't be considered an actual show/movie/whatever and is not complete.

That was definitely too much to squeeze into a show less than half an hour long. The art and the concept is great and it's loosely based on Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. I'd love it if this gets a full season.

Cool. Though they cut out a lot of parts that were in the trailer. Actually, the trailer may have been cooler than this ONA itself now that I think about it.

For those who are confused, this is Toei Animation's imagining of Lewis Carroll's 1871 work Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (Wikipedia, original text), which is said to be a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, published in 1865. Yes, it's very fast-paced and choppy, but the parallel themes are there.

The English poem at the beginning of the episode is popularly known as "A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky" through its first line, though it actually has no title. The first letter of each line in the poem spells out the name of Alice Pleasance Liddell, the namesake of Lewis Carroll's protagonist.

I'm not bothered by mysteries hanging in the air and a chaotic presentation. The thing is... the direction a mess. It just kept jumping from one scene to another, adding random stuff, just for the sake of confusion. That's neither original nor cool, but plain annoying. So yeah, a long trailer in the end.

6.5/10 because the action scenes were quite amazing and the visuals didn't fail either.

Am I the only one who understood it? It's not confusing at all.

Here is an explanation (beware of the spoilers):
A girl and two boys (the boys are not human) end up away from home (maybe they are at the other side of the mirror). That place is Kyoto, and there are a lot of spirits, gods and demons wandering around the town. They want to go back, but the only lead they have is the black bunny. While they are there, a monk takes care of them, and they hunt evil spirits.
The city is "controlled" by two brothers and their sister: a monk (younger brother), a saint (elder brother) and a demon (sister, who rules at the other side of the bridge, where demons live). Their mother left the town a long time ago, and after that, there were no more festivals. But since Koto appeared in town, everyday has been like a festival, just like before, so they think she is her reincarnation (or, maybe more accurately, her other self in the mirror). The demon and the saint then make a trial for her to check if they are right, and to bring back their mom, although the monk disagrees (one may think that he is in love with Koto by what her sister says to him while they fight). Koto fights with a giant robot (controlled by a girl on the shrine with a PSP-like controller). Shit happens, and Lady Koto comes back and saves Koto after kissing her.

The only thing I don't get is the Fox-girl. She appears from time to time, and in the end, cuts a rainbow-like sphere (in the exact moment Koto is eaten by the robot).

Anyway, it was awesome: awesome plot, and awesome art. 9/10
