"the Super Aerial Attack"

This was a good, violent, depressing episode, which apparently has become the hallmark of this series. Uso meets the family of the BESPA pilot he defeated the previous ep. One of the things I liked was how this time Tomino doesn't give you glimpse into the cockpit of the enemy pilot using that POWERFUL mobile suit. I say powerful b/c it brushes off a blast from a mega particle cannon with its own rifle! Not seeing in the cockpit makes the already sudden & mysterious attack scarier & the mobile suit more forboding & mysterious. It looks intimidating like the old Psycho Gundams. Which means I bet there is some crazy Cyber-Newtype biotch behind the controls.

I was glad the pilot's family have found Kasarelia. That way, they can live the way he wanted for them to live.

Even nothing really important for the plot happening in the last episodes, I'm really enjoying them. Next episode is back to space again, and I hope the quality remains.

i think we just got a final boss preview, looking forword to seeing more of that mech. Good episode, im really liking the series so far despite its random drops in quality. Though this apparently has one of the worst finales in the entire series from people i talk to so lets hope it doesnt live up to that hype

Already knew that Fuala would be the pilot, thank you NEXT Plus. So that's why whenever I face the thing in next plus there's accompanying bell sounds.
"Fortress Maximus has come himself. Okay! Then I shall get Fortress Maximus to fight me, huh huh huh!"

Another great episode. Uso's regret and depression was very nicely portrayed here. That mom/woman seemed like a very nice person too.

I have to admit I don't even remember who this Fuala is. Probably because I had such a long break between the episode 17 and 18. :/

Oh well, hopefully there's a flashback or something next episode. Also, Uso's dad? Well this'll be interesting.

fuala was the zanscare woman with pink hair who was actually quite human and friendly to uso's gang early on in the series who was given a punishment of being outcasted to space

Its funny how going back on the episode discussions as i stalk cupc's posts and seeing how much a fucking negative nancy i was while watching this series, hell the finale for this series ended up being one of my favorite in the franchise save for one really retarded scene and one really retarded death of a super minor character. Curious if i lighten the fuck up in the finale's ep discussions cause i recall being really engrossed in them and eager to get through a day of school to finish the last 3 episodes

Another good episode that has no place 10eps before the end. This series looks like a mollusc with no skeleton!

Bringing the family to Kasarelia and accidentally realizing the dead man's wish was kind of nice to see (especially in a show that focuses so much on illustrating the war in a depressive way).

You just can't tell a story if you are making mostly eps who bring nothing to it even with only 10weeks remaining. Their placement is a nuisance to those good episodes.

4/5 Oh! A mysterious ennemy! With strange designs and a portable mega particle cannon! (looks like Seed didn't invent this thing) That's exactly what we need when the time left has already been so shrinked.

I know the show still isn't going in any clear direction despite being so close to the end, but I still felt this episode was really good ; the way the BESPA pilot's family drama was handled and its effect on Uso were nice to see.

I had a hunch about who the pilot of the weird ass Mobile Suit was, and it looks like the previews confirmed it.

These past episodes have been really solid, even if they kind of hit you one after the other with emotional appeals. Didn't think Tomino had it in him to tell these more personal, emotional little stories.

Conflicted opinions about Uso's feelings regarding this man and his family. On the one hand I get why a kid like him is devastated by seeing the family of the man he ended up killing, on the other hand this guilt feels out of place because Uso was acting in self-defense against an army that exterminated civilians, breached a peace treaty and attacked him first. Same should be said about the man's family - I understand why they might feel that way towards Uso and all, but have some understanding about who your husband/father was and what he did. He was an accomplice. Still, a well-handed drama with nice resolution.

I just discovered that Flanders, Connie, Karlmann and Suzy are voiced by the same person

She also has a lot of roles playing pets and children. Funny.

Fuala is back?

This is Kino.
Hard to believe people hate on this series when we have such banger episodes as this one.
Genuinely this episode epitomizes everything I love about the mobile suit Gundam franchise. Uso is the kindest, most compassionate Gundam pilot, and my heart breaks for all the things he has to endure.

I don’t think people give this series enough credit. The grave scene in this episode is too sad. This gundam series specifically has done a great job at showing how terrifying and upsetting war can be, especially for children. I don’t care what other people say, this is some of Tomino’s best work.
