| Oh look we can post again... Rei's character became important later on but here she annoyed the hell out of me. I hate shipping subplots and her crush on Ryo was disturbing since he was so much older than her. |
| Between Dark Magician Girl and Maiden in Love, it's weird seeing in-universe characters acknowledge monster card cuteness. |

| I loved this episode on the first watch because of the sheer insanity of the duel with Blair (and the situation leading up to it) but yeah, on second thought this was a weak episode. Blair winning through the power of sexist logic, and then Jaden turning the tables through that same mystical force... it's not the sort of thing I'd want to rewatch. But hey, it was worth a laugh watching this with my girlfriend! I do hope we get more scenes with the cards acting out soap drama tropes, though... that was incredible. |
