One really good arc, they could have finished the whole anime with this arc. Hope that there will be something else too in the following episodes and not just...

First and foremost... SAITOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They tied it up nicely,

- Anji (who gives me Regal Bryant vibes) willingly went to prison for 25 years. So deep.
- Soujiro has become a wanderer like Kenshin and I'm really happy for him to be genuinely smiling :)
- Fuji is working with the Military
- Saizouchi is negotiating for the Meji Government from now on
- Kamatari is a male/female exchange student spy LOL, and will live to spread Shishio's legacy
- Chou and Henya are both Government spies
- Usui is long dead
- Iwanbou is harmless, so left alone

and lastly...

- Shishio, Yumi and Houji are conquering Hell...? LOL
--

All in all, this was an excellent wrap up episode of the arc and as usual Kenshin's words/idealism at the end there finalized everything. It was a good feeling to see them all together again taking a walk (Even Megumi showed up to treat Kenshin). It's the small things like these that are so cherish-able :)

What an experience, I'm glad I got to feel it again in anime form. I'll head to re-watch the Tsuiokuhen OVAs and then re-read the flashback and Jinchu/Enishi arcs in the manga as soon as Fillers start. I still have no idea why they haven't animated that yet... it was technically the most important arc.

But, before that... on to the next episode! (last before filler)

Makoto Shishio and Yumi Komagata, and the Juppongatana. Even if their names don't make it into history, they will always remain engraved in my heart, and perhaps you'd pass that along when you visit Hoji Sadojima's grave.

I love Kenshin, omg. There's NO man in the world who beckons respect the way he does. That entire line was so touching, I just... just... ack. And what he told Yahiko: "If you're saying that the one who wins is right, then you'd be the same as Makoto Shishio." Unbelievable, just unbelievable. That entire speech of his was amazing.

I simply cannot overstate how happy I am they took this route with Shishio and the Juppongatana. "Even though we are the ones who won in the end, everything you just said makes it hard to tell which side was right." Amen!

The scene with Soujiro finalizing the arc makes a fantastic ending perfect. I know this is pretty much the end and the series onwards is just filler, but I really hope to see these guys yet again. I've come to really like the Juppongatana.

On a side note, I really like Chou. He's a cool bro and his voice acting in the dub is simply hilarious.

Also, I highly doubt Saitou is truly dead, but I confess that Sanosuke's reaction to Saitou's "sacrifice" was truly meaningful... especially if we consider the events of how Sanosuke and Saitou met each other.

This was a great way to wrap things up.

Also, holy shit, like others have said, Shishio in hell was awesome. I feel like that could make a pretty kickass spin-off OVA.

Shishio taking over hell would be amazing, though Hell is like Shishio's own little heaven.

Basically agreeing with everything this person said. XD

Sou-kun... ;w; I so glad he'll have a happy ending.

Anji... good guy.

Glad that Houji died, as cruel as that may be. He had no fighting skills, and was annoying the whole time. But I suppose he got his own twisted happy ending?

And I really hope that Saito's not dead, but... SAITOOUU!! ;-; Nooooo

Okay, I'm done.

^ Such a sublime ending so happy and sad too, wow. Kenshin was so amazing this episode, I'm glad that he will remember Shishio and the Juppongatana positively. Shishio taking over Hell is so funny and amazing lol, good for him. What an ending. I wish that Houji didn't receive a happy ending but at least he was funny in his reaction to seeing Shishio lol.. I hope that Saito is not dead, I've come to like him lol and Sano's reaction to him walking on off to the fire was amazing, Sano is such an amazing character. What an ending to this arc. It's been great.

Pretty good roundup from the past arc, with a more laid back episode, I do wonder what will happen next and what the next arc will bring!

So can someone explain to me the flower at the end of the episode? I can't quite understand who that is for.

Jeez Yahiko, you think the side that was mass murdering people indiscriminately and enslaving villages could have been right? I feel like they could have spent a bit more time fleshing out that discussion, or at least given us a better picture of what the Meiji government was doing before trying to condemn them.

At the end of the episode there is purple flower may be daisy ..... Which describes the purity and admiration in the thoughts of seta Sokoto..... Means he discussed with the old woman that he want to wander about 10 years like makoto shishio and himura kenshin did and at last they find their own truth which was totally opposite with each other ..... So he wants to find his real self in that 10 years ..... And the purple flowers gaurantee's his admiration , determination and purity in his thoughts

A nice roundup to a mostly great arc. Hope Saitou return back to the series especially considering the guy has a wife and family all that. I guess since Shishio can't take over Japan, he's going to take over hell now? Lol, good luck with that. It's nice seeing Soujiro going to a peaceful route as a wanderer like Kenshin before. Hope we see him again.

How did the former monk save Hojj from the inferno area? Also, the conclusion to this arc is bit too light hearted in my opinion. I think it could have needed a bit more bittersweet theme to it.
