| Man, the wings growing out of her back was disgusting. Also the really small wings are making laugh. Well, this was a pretty interesting first episode by all counts. Can't say I understand where the symbolism everyone else is talking about. |

| Surprised at nobody pointing out that the ED looks like a clear Eva reference (just compare it to Fly me to the moon visually). The show promises to be pretty moody, and wings growing made me remember the largely unknown "Seraphim" manga (by Kon and Oshii) |

| I adore everything about this first episode. Besides the stunning visuals, picturesque countryside dreamscape, personable characters, and immediate world-building; even the visceral wing growth scene felt emotional and entrancing. |

| Welcome to Old Home, Rakka. I'm looking forward to this anime very much. I hope that it can get as deep and meaningful as Serial Experiments Lain. Hopefully I won't have to see that elitist wannabe guy with 3 gatsu no lion avatar on this series's thread from Boogiepop Phantom. Such a shame that anime's legacy with ruined, well it never had a clear massage to begin with. |

| Rewatching this after 6 years and having bare memories of this, but man this was an excellent first episode. The birth of the wings had me grimace a bit (and I haven't done that too often) but was well-executed, the world is very intriguing to study already from the glimpses shown in this episode, the music and atmosphere was serene and overall, I was hooked with this. |
| It's not at the same level of disturbing as biblically accurate angels but I'm never gonna look at angel wings the same way ever again |
| Finally got around to watching this. I really like the art, atmosphere and pacing of the anime. It's just what I needed right now. |
| What a great first episode and way to open up a work. The scene of Rakka's wings piercing through her skin and flesh was gnarly. There are certain implications which are very intriguing. 5/5 |
