It's still early, but the scores are pretty close to what regular My Hero is.(Also the vigilantes manga) Makes sense considering it's a spinoff. I love My Hero, but all forms of it are just an average shonen

7 is average, 8 and beyond is good ( A C on a test is 70% which is average)

The story is just about to begin, give it time, when the "hype moment" drops, the score probably reaches above 7.80 by the end.

7.5 isn't low. I don't understand how ya'll grade stuff if you view 7.5 as low. By MAL own standards 7=good 8=great so 7.5 falls between the two.

You should automatically assume a series is two points lower than the score you give it,

and three points lower than yours, in everyone elses eyes

Well it's probably because you hold this show to a higher regard than the majority, which is a very normal thing. I think it's pointless to ask why the score is too high or too low. In the end it's the masses who decide the score and if you disagree with it then you're a part of the minority.

The score of a show reflects the collective opinion. Not yours.

Anything above a 7 is not low... You can start complaining if a show is around a low 6 bordering on a 5.

Anime nowadays are rated oppositely, bad shows getting overrated and good shows underrated.

The dialogue sucks. The main character says “life isn’t fair” at one point. Like wtf dude you have a superpower that lets you glide up walls. That power is super good wtf does he mean life isn’t fair. Also the main girl is just damsel in distress simulator. She doesn’t do anything important she just gets captured and has to be saved. When she’s captured she doesn’t do anything interesting either, she just begs for her life.
On top of that, coincidentally running into those biker gang rejects 3 separate times in episode 1 was flat out dumb. Even more, knuckle duster goes from trying to save people when heroes aren’t there, to assaulting random civilians in the name of “justice” in like 5 minutes. Basically none of the character are properly written. I could honestly keep going but I don’t have time for that. I like my hero as much as the next guy, but this show sucks.

Personally I don’t take the scores to seriously since everyone taste is subjective and just because people don’t like it doesn’t mean I won’t like it either.

First episode was boring AF. The last two have been more fun. Unless it gets awesome, it’ll never get above a seven from me. So far, still a fun show.

School concept beats vigilantes concept in the same way stuff like Naruto and Harry Potter are so popular. And I cant blame people for prefering it. there are still 10 episodes left to increase that "low score" but keep in mind anime score usually goes in hand with the manga one, so dont expect something above 8/10 at the end of the season.

EVerything below a score of 8.0 is unwatchable garbage... with few exceptions (Prison School). I guess this one is one of these exceptions.

yea it was amazing, I think Deku KW is better than the original Deku. For a side story, 7.5 is a solid score. But let's be real, I love this Deku KW more - the character design, personality, and thoughts are all on point, and he's not naive, haha!

Is 7.5 really a low score? The mainline seasons all range around the high 7s to low 8s, so 7.5 seems about right for a spinoff. Fun, engaging action anime are fine but unless you're doing something really different a lot of shows meet the baseline standard of being fun and engaging. 8.5 is really high. I mean, A Place Further Than The Universe is an 8.51 and that's gotta be one of the best shows of the 2010s.

Personally, I have to admit that I somehow like this anime more than the actual my hero academia. Even though I personally would like to see more story about Stain, for example, and somehow I can't shake the feeling that Knuckleduster could possibly be him.
