Damn, felt bad for Shiro. The recent episodes had serious impact on his emotions.

Now, there's also the threat of Lucifer to deal with in this world. But yeah, Satan's arrival in this arc really set a path of events that led to this. Crazy really even though we all knew what would happen.

What I love to do is observing Mephisto. He obviously excuse to leave the scene to do business when in fact he knows Lucifer is not done, but he just want to have a chaos to amuse himself.

I feel so bad for Yuri. She loved Satan even in Gehenna and he just snapped her out of existence. Tragic end to her character.

ngl, this was one of the best ''sudden mid-series loredump shounen flashback arcs'' I ever watched and it is quite ridiculous that this story came out of Ao No Exorcist which was one of the most barebones shounen I've watched lol. Did our mangaka hold herself back for 5 seasons and then use her entire pent-up writing powers on this one arc or is the rest of the series genuinely good like season 5 ?

Even in the Afterlife Yuri gets no justice or peace, & her motives are still misunderstood. Damn!

@Stark700 Mephisto told Rin it would end in Tragedy. Deep in his heart he knew, which is why until now, he has avoided looking into his birth.

Ending scene was extra dark. She got her soul vaporized.

Wasn't expecting the flashbacks to keep going so strong. Was 100% of this episode.

So, who did Yuri really love? Was it Shiro or Satan?

This was definitely a slow episode after all the build up we went through. This was meant to show the aftermath of all the calamity Satan caused.

Shiro mustered the resolve to save himself and the kids. Meanwhile, Lucifer went crazy in the midst of death, but got stopped before he wreaked more havoc. Mephisto came in to save the day and we got to see a glimpse of how everyone looked after the blue night ended.

I feel bad for Shiro. Going through his memories to see how much Yuri loved him. And here he is now, having to drag her body while carrying her kids.

As for that ending. Was this like the first time we saw Gehenna?
Of all people, how’d Yuri end up there too. I feel bad for her too cuz all Yuri wanted to do was express her love but Satan just destroyed her. Talk about EVIL! All he wants is a body, nothing else.

Without a doubt the arc is adapted very well, but I don’t like one bit of the things happening on screen. It’s a tragic disaster! Yuri has such a loser story that I actually never seen before, once a victim, always a victim.

And yes Shiro could have been nicer to her.
lol why would she even fall in love with Satan when he was the biggest jerk in history!?

She obviously loved Shiro but she wanted to change satan by showing her love to the end hoping he would have a change of heart.

But what can we say Satan was an immature one and only cared about getting a human body.

Sad that Yuri was forced through her whole life and didn't get to live as she wanted

More sad for Shiro 🤧😭

@Fabienne

Because Yuri is a waste of a character. There is no development, no real reasoning. Just utter stupidity.

at this stage in the game, the backstory has kind of gone on too long. is this entire season going to be rehashing the past? it's not that it's bad, but i'd like some movement on the current time frame.
quick edit: Satan does not have the power to vaporize souls out of existence, but then again we are already super deep into blasphemy so why not?

The Blue Night is over. It wasn’t a big impact; it was the sum of many terrible things, many bad events. That, and more, was the Blue Night for me. I'm glad they told us the story that way, an arc that definitely leaves a mark in Ao no Exorcist.

As for Yuri, I don’t even want to talk about her anymore. She abandoned everyone for Satan, died, left her children without a mother, went to Gehenna, and there, the same dude she protected, Satan, ended up making her "soul" disappear.

I’ll keep my personal opinion about Yuri to myself because 🤬.

DESPICABLE!!! Why are they changing the story of the manga again? Why can't these stupid people just respect Kazue's work? Man, I'm so MAD!!! Complete garbage of an episode. Kazue-sensei deserves so much more respect. I'm certain some stupid edge lord is seeing himself too deeply into Satan's character and now thinks this is about him. GARBAGE!!!

@loveunique I'm sorry. He is right, the anime is in a different order. But does events do happen in the manga. In the manga there is a back and forth between past and present so it does't get too long. I just checked. Sorry

Welp, if they wanted us to feel bad for Yuri, it didn't work for me, in fact, I fucking hate her.
She decided to stay with Satan because she was mad at Shiro for not giving her a chance, "having Satan under control" was her mission but it really was a secondary reason, all she did was because she was mad at Shiro.
She fucked with Satan, and gave birth to his off spring, but never loved him, we can see that through the past episodes, so to make her, after death, go visit see him to told him she did loved him, nah, fuck her, Satan did the right thing obliterating her lmao

Also I really don't get it, why are all these asshole trying to help Lucifer, he should be an enemy of the exorcists, he was never good and now we see that he was whiling to kill everyone because he never got his damn body, I swear EVERYONE in this series is either a total fucking dumbass or a fucking greedy ass dumbass (tho I need to say the only exeptions are Yukio and Izumo, and that's really sad because they are also pretty stupid sometimes lmao).
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

Yuri is such a good person and Shiro as well.

That demon from the final part when he was saying that he wanted love was amazing, but now he’s gone.

So Satan goes off the deep end completely and irrevocably, Lucifer gets called on his self-serving emo edgelord shit, while Mephisto gets things done, both in the moment and in prep for the future.

Also, Angel is done for, isn't he. It couldn't be clearer that he is Lucifer's long-sought-after perfect body: he is his clone, was entranced by Lucifer to the point of not caring about his own existence just wanting to become part of Lucifer, and was left unharmed by Lucifer's otherwise devastating power... In his madness Lucifer simply overlooked the signs, but I bet you anything that Lucifer taking over Angel's body with Angel's personality (obnoxious though it is) getting erased, very nearly or completely, is gonna become a future plot point.

One of the darkest and most tragic episodes I have seen in anime. Gehenna straight up looks like the world of the Shinigami from Death Note. About those blaming Yuri, how can they not understand the strength she needed to have to sacrifice herself in an attempt to help the most powerful being in the universe understand the feeling of love and warmth that makes living in this world worthwhile despite its harsh nature and all the pain that it brings?

The scene of the Myouou sect finally let me understand the pain they were carrying all this time and why they had such a hard time accepting Rin, and yet it makes me appreciate them for mustering up the strength to actually do it.

@kurooganeko No worries, bro. I didn't mean to sound mean or aggressive, far from it. I was just confused, trying to figure out what you meant. But it's true that going back and forth in the manga does lighten up the story a bit. I couldn't agree more.

Day breaks on bruised faces. With it, the morning light, symbol of comfort and fulfillment, bitterly marks the end of this fateful Blue Night. The losses are immense, the devastation unprecedented, the hearts inconsolable. But most unbearable of all is the conclusion, the fruit of a series of disastrous choices.

All this pain, these tears, these deaths... All could have been avoided. Too many characters acted out of selfishness, starting with Shiro. He had countless opportunities to prove his love to Yuri, but fear paralyzed him. Here he is now, painfully dragging his soul and his beloved's body across this icy mountain, condemned to raise children nobody wanted.

But he's not the only one suffering. The asylum is in the grip of Lucifer's torments, ready to destroy everything to rebuild a world in his own image. In this destructive madness, we also lose our friend Rick, consumed by the merciless light of King Baal. I could, of course, have mentioned the infamous Jeremiah, but I'd rather not, in spite of all that I've said.

Beyond the walls of the Order, the scale of the disaster becomes dizzying. From Homare to Myoda, no one has been spared. The Evil One shows no mercy, and strikes indiscriminately.

But the most unbearable tragedy is that of Yuri. Pure, benevolent, luminous, she was a ray of sunshine in this dark and gloomy world. And yet she was destroyed by Satan's selfishness and self-righteousness, in an act of cruelty.
The world of Blue Exorcist, like Rin’s heart, will never regain its former peace. That time is gone. Nothing will ever be the same again, and this truth is crushing.

From a technical standpoint, a huge thank you to Studio Voln for the incredible work they’ve done. This season is a true success, both narratively and visually. The animation has reached new heights, delivering a remarkable experience, further elevated by the masterful compositions of Kohta and Sawano. Also, and maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Gehenna borrows some elements from Lovecraftian mythology—whether in its apocalyptic atmosphere or that nightmarish pillar.

Only two episodes left. I never imagined experiencing this in my childhood, but God is Merciful. With so little time remaining, I intend to savor every moment. This weekly rendezvous is something I’ll sorely miss...
