This is the result when you let that serial killer, Oosato Masaki the one who killed both Neko and Haruto, freely roam in your hotel. If you tried to kick him out on the first day, or constrained and imprisoned him inside a room. Things would be safer than this.

Masaki is beyond saving, with his acts done in living world he's destined to end in hell. I hope the little Neko doesn't end up doing something wrong and reckless, while trying to bring justice to Haruto.

The Hotel Manager maybe a goofy-ass and hilarious, but he knows everything about the people that come to the hotel. I can feel that Kiriko's after something, more like entertainment, just hoping that he doesn't turn out to be another bad monkey.

I understand that the manager has to be neutral in this situation, but I also understand Neko's frustration... I actually don't understand why Neko didn't tell Atori the truth, but maybe she wanted to avenge herself too.

But yeah, if Osoto said that he shouldn't kill Atori in the real world, why would he want to kill Atori in the current world they're living? After all, Atori was most likely already dead. Hmm maybe I didn't understand or the next two episodes will explain it further.

That monkey face is really ugh suspicious and makes me uncomfortable. Haven't liked him since the episode where he gave Osoto the idea about killing the guest a few episodes ago -__- looking forward to the last two episodes!

Their exchange by the pool was brimming with ambiance. Anyway, Osoto relayed during that little poolside chat that he found it a fateful and surprising lucky coincidence that three of the people he had previously killed would end up in this otherworldly hotel with him. If Atori and Tsukahara are two then who is the third? Tsukahara confirmed in this episode that she believes she is actually still alive. If she is indeed alive then does Osoto also believe or know that to be the case, thus excluding her from the aforementioned three leaving two others apart from Atori? That last point might be an overly semantic consideration, but it's unclear and worth pondering. Anyway, that's a general question said out loud (or typed...in open sight, if we're being literal), but one to be shot up into the aether. Not coyly soliciting the sharing and spreading of spoilers from source material players or anything of that sort.

But while there is much else which could be said about this episode in particular and all the principal players involved, I'll just say for now that Tsukahara is truly a beautiful soul indeed. Before the latest developments or revelations which can serve as the creation of a new rupture between them, her recognition of the small helpful acts, regardless of whether they were charitable or mutually beneficial and self-serving, that Osoto had done for her in recent times and sense of budding friendship, and with it willingness to put aside his past and lifestyle, as long as she and her small circle was not harmed, was relatable, noteworthy, powerful, and really spoke to me as that simple attitude revealed an authenticity and depth of character I don't too often see outside of intensive dramas.

And that lemur/aye-aye/primate-of-some-sort guy is a perfect self-insert for the most extreme of us voyeurs out in the audience.

Yeah, they can still bungle the last few episodes but at this point it seems safe to say this has secured its lead as first ahead of all the other seasonals I'm watching and even though it's only winter, has strong prospects of remaining up there among the better series of the year. I'd say that it has already surpassed its spiritual predecessor, Death Parade, for me personally. It never ceases to amaze me how two shows which can sound like carbon copy clones in a general overview on paper can be so radically different in execution with where they go from and what they do with the common base premise, and so different in the resulting assortment of thoughts and feelings they inspire. It's another Girls Band Cry vs. Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai situation from last year all over again (even though Death Parade is obviously a now 10 year old 2015 series).

The story's climax has begun.

Although it was somewhat expected that Oosoto would be Neko's killer, I didn't anticipate that he would also be Atori's killer. However, their connection in the real world was obvious, and even the ED hinted at it. By the way, the new ED is amazing.

If Oosoto was already despicable, he seems even more so now. I believe his obsession with Atori stems from the fact that Oosoto's parents seemed more attached to him than to Oosoto himself. Now, Neko is finally determined to get rid of Oosoto, like Sherlock Holmes versus James Moriarty.

That monkey gives me worse vibes than Oosoto himself.

My favorite episode so far!! They actually clutched the interactions between Neko and Osoto that happened in earlier chapters. Neko's line about how she wouldn't mind being friends as long as Osoto doesn't harm her or her friends finally shows her morally ambiguous nature.

The hidden room scene was executed well too, I loved the voice acting for Osoto's notes in his diary. Also, apparently the scene at the pool is a reference to Holmes and Moriarty's first meeting, so that's a cool detail.

Atori listening to Neko not to enter Osoto's room despite her crappy bomb excuse because she told him to was really sweet. I love them.

I liked the characterization for Manager too. Now we see that he does have his own feelings on the matter, but his position and the nature of the hotel (and perhaps partially his own nature) requires him to remain impartial despite it.

I LOVED THE ED SO MUCH. It's great how they used the song for Renewal (the game's remake) and added new visuals! I got goosebumps watching it the first time. The last frame with Neko, Osoto and Atori in the background is perfect. My destined trio.

@WatchTillTandava the "killed three people" part is a mistranslation. According to my friend who understands and translates Japanese, what he said was closer to the lines of "me and (two of the) people I've laid my hands on, the three of us".

You nailed it on Osoto and Neko's odd friendship/dynamic — it's extremely interesting that she can look past everything he's done if only he didn't cross a line and transgress that boundary of hurting her or people she cared about. It's not everyday you see a protagonist who's willing to befriend a criminal. That makes it somewhat tragic too, and him turning out to have attacked her and killed Atori feels like a betrayal because of it.

Hmm, I was already suspicious about the monkey person, but now I feel more sure that he feels like a temptation. Like, maybe he sort of represents the devil of the hotel? As the Manager must stay neutral, it kind of makes sense there would be one to shake things up... (But if that's the case, there should be an opposite power to him, but there seemingly isn't.) Anyway, it's kind of interesting how he seems to have a 'solution' for Neko... I'm interested to see what kind it's, and Neko will get in trouble because of that (Knowing her, she will).

Oooh! That ending with Ali Project was fantastic~. I really loved the visual for it and how it basically summed up Neko's and Osoto's relationship.

To start the "I'll be your friend if you don't hurt me or the people I cared about" is a bit silly when she's seen him drive 2 people to death and 1 to hell just in the hotel, forget all the murders in the real world.

The clarifying and doubling down on the murder rule is also silly when as stated above Oosoto did exactly what the manager said not to do.

Also again, why is the entire hotel not told about him beforehand so they can be safe and informed? I understand not telling Atari the truth because she doesn't want him remembering and disappearing, but everything else should at least be on the table.

Also wondering what the rules are for people "working" at the hotel since they seem to be unnecessarily useless in preventing things before they happen in the name of "serving the guests".

The standoff by the pool was intense, I kind of suspected that Osato was the one who attacked Neko but I'm glad to see it confirmed.

Robota?! Is that you?! I guess the D.A disposed of him after all...

Dude we need this guy GONE before he brings about more casualties. It's been a while since I hated a character as much as Osoto, like at this point if I could I would strangle him with my own two hands lol, that being said he's a great villain for this show. I guess Atori really is dead in the real world, still wish that turned out to be false somehow :(

This show is seriously underrated, I understand that it's quite eccentric and maybe a little slow for some people but to me it's intriguing and suspenseful. Like the part where Neko inspected Osoto's room was sooo good and exactly why I love this show, the way the mysteries unravel is great. Glad I decided to watch this after wavering for a good while initially.

Neko did it again - completely oblivious to common knowledge outside of the few things she is hyper-focused on. Also I like how she wasn't that surprised and didn't panicked.

Hummm, Moriarty being a dog, was that a reference to Meitantei Holmes - https://myanimelist.net/anime/1972/Meitantei_Holmes or it's a common name for pets used in Japan?

I guess she don't stand a chance against Osato in a battle of wits, unless some cat instinct pulls her out or outside of the box thinking.

Seriously, what the hell is the deal with that little monkey dude? Why is he even in the hotel? As far as I can tell he just sits around getting drunk and then sometimes doing evil stuff when he gets bored.
