I mean, why WOULD she stay when the main reason they were fighting for is gone? Now that Aki realizes she doesn’t have feelings for Yori anymore, maybe they can be friends again, or maybe something more. But yeah, It’s truly hilarious how they made it all dramatic, like Shiho ran away and something serious went down, and then she’s just sitting on the roof... sigh.

And so the whole apology/confession whatever you'd like to call it happens, and it was pretty obvious how things would play out, but it felt forced and annoying. If they’re just friends, cool, but if they’re a couple already, that’d be so dumb. If they do end up together, I hope it builds up at least.

That said, Shiho has been the most fun character in the story because she doesn’t support her crush with other people like an idiot. She works hard and sacrifices her first love to fulfill her friend’s dream. But suddenly, she becomes just another boring character stuck with another boring character who forgets her crush in a day, it felt like it could’ve been done better.

As mixed as I was about this arc, I’m just glad Shiho and Aki were able to reconcile. That kiss and the offer to dance were really sweet. And the post credit scene with Yori and Himari kissing was also sweet.

Overall, what a mess of an adaptation, of which had some potential to be good if an actual good studio had picked it up. No season two please and if you decide to pick up the manga, start from the beginning because bad visuals wasn't the only thing wrong with this adaptation. Rushing happened as well.... sigh.

Aki finding herself right in the middle of the love polygon between Shiho having a crush for her, and then having a crush on Yori, her heart's clearly not in the spirit of competition, much less seeing the love of her life fading away ever farther from her once Himari came into the picture, much less acknowledging Shiho's feelings, even if they aren't subtle. And with just a normal handshake of exchange with Yori, Aki finally finds her standing for SSGIRLS to support her back for the performance, with her request of a last-minute addition that they really worked hard for. But for Shiho to suddenly go missing from Momoka's desperate plea for help, with the intent to skip the performance altogether, there's no one that understands the runaway girl better than Himari, choosing to confront her feelings head on and forcing her to watch their gig.

SSGIRLS giving their audience a run for their time bringing their usual fun dynamics into their performance, and this stint proves that the band does things better than Laureley. This then, comes towards the final song, with Aki thinking long and hard, and giving her love's requiem to Shiho and tributing with her nostalgia song, though it would be her to anchor the song instead of Yori, otherwise it would have no rhyme and meaning to it. And when all is said and done, Shiho just can't forget how much Aki meant to her, that the competition between bands meant nothing since both girls managed to patch their relationships. Aki no longer being the dense girl that she is, and Shiho sealing their newfound relationship with a kiss, it's for the best for the couple. Even the lead females too got their first kiss, and there's that for the anime.

Great ending all things considered, for an anime that's so distraught by production hell.

Satisfying finale with an emotional performance from SSGIRLS.

Aki and Shiho became a couple after they finally made up. I'm happy for them. :)

A kiss between Yori and Himari was a cute way to end the show.

Overall, a very good show despite the production issues. I definitely want to see more wholesome yuri like this.

Despite all my problems with this show which is many at least it's done now. Really glad that despite all the production hell issues at least it finished. Maybe I'll even read the manga one day it can't be worse than the anime.

The best thing from this was probably Meritocracy the song for Laureley at least I enjoyed that. Overall a 2/10 show but I bump up to 4/10 because of Meritocracy.

They actually finished Whisper me a Love song today, only took almost a year.

This could have been so good, but instead they skipped over Yori x Hima important moments and cut huge chunks of chapters out of the adaptation, just so they could rush through and focus on Shiho and Aki drama and finish the school festival performance arc.

Yet even having taken so long for two episodes, they have scenes that are basically just colored manga panels on screen. One of the most disappointing adaptations ever for me.

just read the manga. it's so much better than this train wreck adaptation.

What a mess. I barely remember any of these characters - I certainly don't recall their motivations or goals. I'm not sure why I'm supposed to care about these side characters. I really feel like they should have focused on the main couple way more, maybe fleshed everything out more.
All of these jerky, three-episode long romances are just so boring.

The animation was also eerie at times - like during the performance. Main girl's arms were doing some very weird things. It was a bit disconcerting.

Only took them 6 months to make a passably animated episode.. these two episodes were noticeably higher quality and if the rest of the show had looked like this, we could’ve had a solid show here. Unfortunately what we got was a production mess in which the staff were merely victims themselves.

Honestly though, even without the production hell here, I don’t think the story is that good. It got much better once Shiho got introduced and we started learning about she and her previous band. I feel like a lot of the hype for this one is that it’s a lot of people’s 1st or 2nd Yuri so they gas it up, but there’s much better out there from what I’ve seen of it so far.

Credit where it’s due though. Both ships sailing in the finale and a happy ending was nice to see. Shiho FC we ate good.

I genuinely forgot this show existed but I just finished the last two episodes, and uh, it's fine, I guess? I mean, it only took them half a year to finish two episodes, so I hoped that they would be passable.

I'll give it a 5, maybe a 6, but I heard the source material is a lot better, so if I feel like giving this another chance, I'll go read it.

Finally, I can change its status to 'completed'.
This anime would be better if it didn't get any delay. It is what it is, anyway.
The final two episodes were amazing. ngl, Aki x Shiho is far more interesting and captivating than Himari x Yori.

A happy ending after waiting for so long finally realized.

I am very satisfied especially with these last two episodes, it feels like a relief after all that happened, at the same time these two episodes tell how to end this well.

Honestly, of course I want Aki and Shiho more after they managed to make up again and continue their story after that, but because this might be an ending that I feel is worthy enough to end here so I think it is impossible for us to see now. Besides, I am also happy to see this ending.

A decent last couple of episodes, we got some adorable scenes and some really good drama with Shiho/Aki.
It wasn't perfect (Aki realizing her feelings changed, right at the good moment, felt a bit convenient) but it was a solid ending.

As for the show itself: the VAs did a very good job from start to finish, loved the animation (it felt better than what we usually get for yuri shows at least), the songs were decent (even if suprisingly sparse in a show where most of the main characters are musicians) and the story itself felt fresh and cute most of the time.
Overall, not my favorite yuri but a good one for sure, and I can say I enjoyed the journey :)

Question: if I were to pick up the manga, could someone tell me on which chapter the anime ended? or do you think it is better to start from the beginning (basically, did they cut a lot of stuff) ?

It’s not the first nor the last time a good work gets a bad adaptation, and it’s far from the most striking example because, aside from the delay, the anime was still pretty good.

I’m kind of tired of mangas and prefer light novels these days, but I think I’ll make an exception and read the source of this one because it’s worth it.

It was a good ending. Despite all the time that passed, I can finally get it off my “on hold” list.

Aki finally realized her true feelings, understanding that her emotions for Yori had changed and were no longer romantic. Her words to Shiho were sweet, but I couldn’t help but feel like the drama might have come off as awkward or unnecessary for the audience who were waiting for SSGIRLS’ final song.

The anime was good overall, though I wasn’t too thrilled that the main couple, Yori and Himari, were overshadowed by Shiho and Aki’s story. Still, we at least got a kiss between Yori and Himari, which wasn’t a bad way to end things. Not bad for my first yuri anime, even with all the production issues.

This anime had a lot of production issues but it dosent take away from the fact that the story was amazing and they gave it all they had with the limited resources they had to make it.
Did the manga deserve a better anime adaptation? Yes of course but yuri is such a niche genre that we have to be grateful we even a got an adaptation for this.
So overall i really enjoyed this ending.

I enjoyed a lot these 2 last episode, it is unfortunate all that happened with the production, I feel terrible for everyone involved, the author, the studio, the fans, etc. but at the very least the finale ended up on a high note, it could always be worse much like Märchen Mädchen.

I didn't particularly care for the main couple but at the very least Himari got to do something after becoming a manager, meanwhile I found Yori whatever, I liked much more all of the supporting characters, specially Aki and Shiho and I love characters that address someone by their full name like Tsutsui Mari does.

Really a shame what happened with this adaptation…cutting massive amounts of content just to rush thru Shiho and Aki’s arc. There is so much development for Yori and Himari, namely the fireworks festival, that got completely skipped over which really surprised me. I like Shiho and Aki a lot but man, it’s just a shame what they decided to cut to squeeze everything in. Obviously not the first manga to suffer a rushed adaptation, won’t be the last, but still disappointing.

Well that was a damn sweet ending, I wasn’t sure if Shiho x Aki was a ship that could ever truly sail after all that happened between them, but that concert and kiss from Shiho set a voyage across the ocean for them lol, I love it tho, it really is the best outcome for both, Aki realized she no longer has feelings for Yori in a romantic sense, and things have started blossoming for Shiho instead, and now Shiho can stop being an edgelord and get her girl, everyone wins lol. And I was afraid we would end without one last moment for Yori and Kino, but we thankfully ended up getting it with that really cute kiss on the roof, this last arc may not have been about them but I’m glad we got that at least.

And that was the blue balling yuri anime, I say blue balling because it left us like that for 6 months lol, but really I’m just happy it finally finished after so long, because I really liked this show despite all its problems and would have hated for it to never properly end, and now that’s thankfully no longer a problem. But man the issues were definitely apparent and I can’t blame fans of the manga for being upset with the adaptation, I really would have loved more focus on the main couple than what we got, and the production wasn’t great at times so what we did get wasn’t as good as it could have been, and to top it all off we had to wait half a year for the final two episodes, it really had a rough go of it.

But as an anime only, I can say this show was good for what it was, I really enjoyed Yori and Kino’s relationship despite it being nerfed in the anime, and the plot with Shiho and Aki was pretty awesome in its dramatic goodness, the music for the anime was also great, I’m gonna have to seek out the songs played in these last two episodes if they’re available. It really was just a cute and fun time, I really wish it could have got the adaptation it deserved but I still liked what we got, and maybe one day I’ll hit the manga, I’m definitely interested now after hearing about what was skipped, and maybe one day I’ll try rewatching the show with episodes 11 and 12 not being 6 months apart from the rest just to see how that is lol.

All the 6 months of waiting was worth it to see Shiho finally be happy.

Shiho always got shafted in her life so her choice of closing off wasn't really a bad decision but Himari meddling this time did helped out. Aki was as dumb as Yori who was as dumb as Himari weird cycle but atleast she gave up on Yori at a very convenient time. When you say drama done right it is how it's done. Is it bit cliched yes but still it felt good. Shiho and Aki getting together at end is all what matter.
Cute way to finish two couples kissing. Keep going Shiho never give up✌️

Despite a trash adaptation with this level of production failure it was still a quality anime. Specially at start with Himari and Yori. At the middle of got slow + was a mess with production. But the Shiho arc was quite good and I really enjoyed it. Things got closed very satisfyingly with these last two episode. Just wished such a good story got a better treatment. Nonetheless anything below 7 for this would be a disservice.

They really stopped the anime at the perfect spot. I loved this finale and am happy that the anime ended with one of the better episodes of the series. Something was just a little off with the animations still, but this episode was much better than most of the others in that regard. Best girl Shiho and Aki finally both get their happy ending after dealing with so much heartache throughout the series. Also, a big W for Himari finding and dragging Shiho to the concert. The manga is in my favorites, but due to the studio handling this my expectations started pretty low. So, I was not as disappointed with this as a lot of people. Plus, since I am reading the manga this long gap between episodes didn't really bother me. I was able to easily jump right back in to the story.

I loved the music, story, characters and really enjoyed the series for what it was. However, it is hard for me to give this any higher than a 6 with all the anime's issues and the source material being leaps and bounds better. So, with my yuri bias and source bias included, I give this a 6.81
I will take yuri any way I can get it :)

Random faceless students thinking: "What's this blonde chick saying on stage? How awkward..."

Underwhelming final episode to conclude an overall really disastrous anime adaptation. Aki realizing, at the right moment, that her feelings towards Yori had changed was convenient to say the least and the whole reconciliation with Shiho felt cheap, corny and even wrong in my opinion. Shiho is clearly a mess to deal with and the fact of Aki being happy to return with such person after all the angst and harsh treatment she received from her is lowkey worrying (and stupid) but well. Let the idiots be idiots together, I don't know...

3/10 - Development between Yori and Himari was enjoyable tho. Such a shame studio forgot halfway through that this anime was supposed to be about their relationship and not about some annoying extras.

unfortunate adaptation, but they managed to make a decent ending, and the songs also were a good addition.
it's a case where the value of the mangaka's work still shines through even in the face of bad adaptation.
would highly recommend everyone to still read the manga, a lot of goodies were not adapted, and the art, writings are exceptional.
nevertheless, although i despise how the animation turned out to be, still thankful for the opportunity to know the manga. maybe another readaptation in the future? maybe a better team for doing a second season?

I don't know how to feel about this series and the anime itself didn't resonate with me very much, especially with all the drama involving Shiho. Not really fond of it. At least this ending resolved things between Shiho and Aki although it took a lot of time to conclude and there was so much drama involved. The anime strayed away from the focus between Himari and Yori then to all about Shiho.

That's it, I guess. I was disappointed with all the disastrous episodes which resulted from poor management and terrible production. On the plus side, I'm satisfied enough with the good ending which involved all the pairings together. Shiho and Aki made up, and that's what matters. The kiss between Himari and Yori was the best way to wrap this up.

Last but not least, that speech during the intermission felt so awkward. Some faceless students from the audience would cringe at how cheesy that speech felt, but that's just my own nitpick and it still turned out good for the girls in the end.

Some good, some bad, but as I said previously, this anime didn't resonate with me very much. 6/10, I guess the manga must have been a lot better than this.

What a heartfelt ending episode. Aki was a bit questionable with airing out her personal business to the whole school during their performance, maybe not the right place to do so but I guess she was taking desperate measures. I am happy Shiho and Aki were able to mend their relationship although the ending scene between them was interesting, seeing as Shiho still pursues a romantic relationship with Aki knowing she doesn’t feel the same. Perhaps if I read the manga more pieces will fit together. I was also hoping for a bit more development between Yori and Hima in these last few episodes but alas I am still satisfied we got that cute ending scene between them. The music in this show was just great, I love listening to it in my free time and it really made for a great show.

My opinion of the entire anime is simply very good.
I liked it, even though it had such a low rating....I found it strange to be honest lol, I mean it's an anime for those who watch it and like romance, they'll enjoy it, it has exciting and fun moments, even episodes that make you reflect on a little of your romance itself (if you have any in your life) its fun and precious moments, it doesn't matter the genre, but rather your personal taste, what you really like.
There are even dramatic moments (sadness of the characters) that are simply comforting, hoping that this can be resolved and that each step of the characters works (even sometimes being something clumsy lol) is good
Well, my rating for this anime is 9, I will read the manga in the future, and I hope it continues to be as good as it is.
