Even as someone who's read the manga, I gotta say, these character designs are really something else LMFAO

With what the last 3 episodes have given us, feels like the story is well and truly getting under way now. Started off as a nice sweet graduation episode for the girls and the start of their college journey and ended with one of the biggest wtf moments of the season.

First of all, is no one gonna talk about Kadode and Watarase sensei relationship cause shit is so weird 😭 he’s been trying to fuck his student for like 2 years now. I’m glad she’s leaving him in the past seemingly.

Most girls in uni want to party or join clubs, Ontan wants to make an army lmao, she’s so slow.

Hard seeing pictures of Kiho with the girls knowing she didn’t make it to this day with them. They were all so inseparable and she didn’t even get to start life :/

speaking of Kiho though, her ex bf might seem unhinged and crazy, but he’s more sane and aware of what’s going on than anyone. The government and military truly have lost control of the situation, but who would’ve thought things would escalate the way they did at the end of the episode so quickly!

The invaders falling from the sky after being blasted by the new JDSF weapon was horrifying. The military and government have handled this whole situation so poorly. Killing innocent invaders, attacking the mothership and now this. This is definitely not going to end well.

What’s also interesting is that the blast seems to only affect alien tech? So the plane was totally fine after flying through it somehow? That’s .. interesting.

How crazy is it that we have two crossdressing Makoto’s on a Thursday lol.

And it was even a long time since they arrived and ignored all communications, that really shows they are not interested in even having a talk on why they came.

Would you just really let them do whatever they want on your planet? Remember, they are invading.

Um have you not watched the episodes? They killed invaders who were seeking shelter last ep? They nuked one ship, they shot another out the sky then blew up this one

The invaders come, countdown to the end of the world, an amazing scene
Kiho's boyfriend talks like Kadode from ep 6 or is it just me?
Kadode focuses this episode on the theme of the old generation, she feels lost and asks for guidance from her teacher, not a very smart choice considering he is as much of a cynic as her, she leaves her mother behind, a mother which at least for me feels like she doesn't understand or really has the power to understand what Kadode feels, it's understandable considering her husband is probably dead and the insanity the world is in, the only adult who I feel like Kadode has a positive relationship is her stepfather, but it looks like she has a hard time accepting him
The anime captures Ontan masterfully, she's such an interesting character using a facade to hide her pain, everything she says sounds like nonsense but when you understand her character all the nonsense feels heartbreaking, I can't wait for the series to end so I can do an analysis on her
And lastly and most importantly... Futaba and Makoto appear! It is the biggest change in the story in my opinion, Futaba is the most important character for the political themes of the story, she is the character I feel will be the most controversial (yes, even more than the teacher) and she is masterfully written, and as the show walks down the political rabbit hole I hope discussions will be civilised and with no name calling or stuff like that. And Makoto... She's (I am pretty sure the story never uses pronouns to call her but I think there was a joke that confirms she identifies as a girl? It doesn't matter) just a lovable character, nothing else to say on her, a very fun character

@Ton168 Why attack something which you have no idea about? That's how they'll get f-ed. The aliens haven't done anything real bad, even the contamination in Tokyo is because of the terrorist united states nuking the mothership above the civilian city.

I love how this isn't like the ailen movies like War of the Worlds. Instead of a immediate invasion, it's more like a slow burn that's completely humanity's fault. As the average civilian can't really do much, they watch as their government starts blasting all the ailens out of the sky, with some people knowing that sooner or later, they're gonna fight back - and it's not gonna be pretty.
