| It seems loyalty has its importance as a theme in this show. Also, about time they're choosing the next empress. Been building up for awhile now and this episode had a lot of chatter. Crazy segment though. A crow literally leaps in front of the princesses as Wakamiya stood in front of them. |

| Yukiya's backstory as a potential son of the Northern House, that parentage is a rather sensitive topic, that even if he's recognized as from Taruhi, Wakamiya would already know his origin, though it needed Natsuka to test of his abilities, to therefore chase him out of his hometown. Because his existence already created a succession dispute, the eldest son Yukima should be the next successor, but yet the second son tries his best to be a blockhead as the rumours say. Still, Wakamiya knew that Yukiya was someone special, that he could've just chosen anyone for the job, unlike Rokon who is loyal to Natsuka, even if he's being used. Rokon taking Yukiya to see the captured Atsufusa, who believed that Natsuka should ascend the throne to become the next Kin'u, it was all of his own volition and none that of Wakamiya's brother, as his most loyal retainer who wanted to see him go all the way. But this was all a dream as he clinged to the Southern House's only sister that he had, Lady Nadeshiko, so that he could have a proper tie in to the Kin'u, but that things with Hamayu also didn't pan out well. If this isn't kingdom politics enough that Yukiya hates so much, Wakamiya wanting Yukiya to support him is the final word as the upcoming Kin'u, until the next Spring. With Wakamiya appearing sudden at the Cherry Blossom Hall, this is his time to choose a consort from one of the Four Houses. What a sudden move this is, but it must be done quick. |

| Stellar episode, even better than the last. This is the best show production wise I’ve seen from Pierrot probably since Akudama Drive. Most underrated this season ๐ The drama with Yukiya’s past was handled well in my opinion. Yukiya’s totally justified in feeling unnerved now that the prince and Natsuka revealed they know about his origin. He’s always had insecurity issues and been told he’s second best, so finally finding a place where no one knew who he was and just saw him as Yukiya felt nice. Then that whole plot twist last week and his world’s coming crashing down. They didn’t let it drag out too long and just had the Prince and Rokon speak openly and bluntly with Yukiya. While things may have started out based on his heritage, Yukiya has become a genuine friend and confidant to the Prince and it’s him, not his blood or noble background that the Prince needs advising him going forward. Beautiful scene. Not Astufasa writing fanfics about Natsuka’s potential ascension ๐ bro had the whole scenario planned out in his head. What’s crazier is he ain’t even consult Natsuka about this, just him doing all this on his own to install Natsuka as K’inu. Better luck next time buddy. Maybe consult the person you’re fantasising about next time. Animation was gorgeous during that scene though, they did not have to go that hard on his eyes. FINALLY, the prince visits the Sakura palace. He sure kept them waiting long enough ๐ who is he gonna choose(better be asebi) |

| As someone who read manga, I kinda know what will happen in next episode but oh man.... my patience from excitement already worn out. I want it now! As well I'm very surprised it actually happens like??? There are episodes left and it already feels like end of show? There's something cooking definitely, something that will taste good. |

| In hindsight, it's not surprising that Atsufusa knew about Natsuka's alliance with the Prince but tried to assassinate the Prince anyway. Loyalty means surrendering your free will to your lord, but it can also mean asserting your own will through the lord you serve, even if it may not necessarily align with your lord's will. Or you may make your lord's will your own, without realizing that you have the wrong idea about what he stands for. And as much as Yukiya would rather go back to his hometown and live a carefree life, he has to choose. The world will not let a man of his bloodline and his talents just walk away from all this. He'll probably think of it as a curse, but in some ways it's a blessing, to be "useful," as Rokon points out. Loved how the episode tackled this stuff. |

| Wow Wakamiya finally showed his face to the ladies and was about to choose his consort. TBH I don't mind anyone between Asebi and Susuki, but I think choosing a consort is the least of his concerns by now so I'm not really putting hopes to it. Looking forward to the next episode |
| Said this before but Yukiya's mother, the one who raised him really is a great woman. Yukiya was acting the fool to not create any dispute with his brother over the succession. Atsufusa's completely delusional and got used by the empress. Empress really is a big problem for Wakamiya that he'll have to overcome. Good to see Wakamiya and Yukiya have somewhat patched things up and Yukiya will hopefully decide to serve him eventually. A short timeskip and the one year time already went by since the rite began. Wakamiya made quite the entrance to meet the consorts after making them wait for so long. Even his sister was surprised. Masuho no Susuki being the only one calm and acting as if she was waiting for him gives you some hints. |
