What you see is what you get, or so I thought... 😭

What a fun episode but I need more... 😖
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

This is listed as just episode 1 but it's more properly episode 13 of season 1. It covers the final chapter of the second volume of the light novel.

I don't think this should be called a side story as this directly follows the events in episode 12.

We also see Kaya, but I can't remember if she was mentioned or this is just an anime original montage.

This is a cute but quiet episode. The emperor is at fault, but I was a bit bothered with this scene when I read it in the light novel.

There's some eugenics involved.

Anyway, despite some imperfections on her part, Miyo has blossomed from the weak girl that she had been at the start of episode 1, which is why I really love this.

Cute episode :) I may have enjoyed this OVA more because they focused more on the interpersonal relationship than the supernatural stuff that was more present in the show itself, especially in the second half.

Is it an unpopular opinion that I enjoyed this episode more than the entirety of the second half of s1? lol

This pretty nice to be honest, if this were aired as the last chapter instead of an ova, I would’ve given the season 7/10.

Nice episode, I guess it lacks climatic action like the actual final ep of the first season, so maybe that's why it was put as a side story? Anyway it was pretty fun and with some actual important information to the story (it would be weird if they were none the wiser who was behind the plan).

little boy is your son how you can't say you love him more than a stranger that just got into your life?
that man did a good choice divorcing her

Takaihito is such a disgusting character. Having him appear more just ruined the whole ep

I thought we'd get some side story with Kiyoka and Miyo cute stuff and while we did get that but this started from where episode 12 left off so this is basically episode 13.

So Hazuki has a child and she seems to be in good terms with her ex husband, I wonder why did they seperate. She deserves happiness the most, best girl.

We got some sweet stuff with Kiyoka and Miyo, they almost kissed but ofc got interrupted. Atleast we got headpats and hug.

Continuation of the short final segment from ep 12. The conversation with the prince atleast adds something and the rest is fluff.

This was a continuation from the season finale. We got to see the actual party. Finally, we got to see Hazuki’s ex-husband, and damn, they had a son. What was even more shocking was, they were cool like friends after the divorce, considering the historic kind of setting. That was pleasant to watch.

Miyo met Takaihito and she spoke pretty well with him, without all the hesitation and shyness she used to have before. We get to see him reveal the whys of everything that happened around her, to her. She is no more hidden in the dark.

It was nice to see Kudo and Miyo together, after a long time. Guess will have to wait some more time before we get season 2.

so they tried to shift all the blame on to the emperor as he was the mastermind, as if that somehow explained how badly she was treated by the Saimori, etc.

Arata shows up and tries to act like he never did anything wrong, ensuring that S2 will be more trash

Nothing particularly exciting or that advanced the plot in any serious way, but Hazuki's little brother was fun.

This is an OVA but I think this is my favorite episode out of the whole season 1 lol. Miyo is so cute in this episode. The kid kinda annoyed me but whatever.

So the emperor was behind the whole thing starting from the fall of the Usuba family's business. The emperor's influence felt underwhelming before, but with this revealed I can see how paranoid and thorough the emperor is.

The "form of happiness" that they were talking about was beautiful, I loved it. This really felt like a proper last episode.

Show's best when it's at its fluff mode, and this episode had a spoonful of it! Kudou-oneesan's speech about family and whatnot in front of her ex-husband was a little puzzling and they look totally normal with each other, I wonder what happened. I just remember something about not being able to be a good housewife, shouldn't that cause a lot of issues normally xD.

Looks like the next gen of the royal family is off to a good start by acknowledging the mistakes. Here's to hoping they'll be able to take a more proactive role to repay in kindness but I doubt it'll be that easy.

Almost got the highly anticipated smooch but god dang! At least there was the head pat and forehead kiss though, I suppose that'll do for now, lol. Can't wait for S2 now! With just a couple months away, I'd say I picked the right time to watch this.

Rewatching Episode 13:

This is mostly fluff but a well deserved break and moments of happiness for all the drama that they have experienced so far and will experience in succeeding seasons/volumes. Miyo is still awkward but she has done her best to improve in the short time when Hazuki appeared until this informal party.

I don't know if this incoming emperor has some hidden agenda, but his father deserves to go to hell.

I'm actually shocked to know that Masashi was already married with kid and is now already divorced (for what reason?). Even though he exudes DILF aura I kinda hope he's not a real dad.

I just noticed that the OVA name's romaji version is written wrong in a lot of places and it really started to bother me. Anyone else?

Japanese title: わたしの 幸せかたち

Wrong romaji: Watashi no Shiawase na Katachi

Correct romaji: Watashi no Shiawase no Katachi

LOL EXACTLY

I was like "wtf this divorced bit* is really trying to justify to her son (who is missing mother affection), that he is NOT more important that the new bride of his uncle?"

Am I the only one who felt very strange homoerotic vibes during the dialogue about family and this whole topic about different forms of family and happiness? It was as if her son was jealous of his mother not for his future aunt, but for a new lesbian lover after her divorce from his father.

@phantomfandom We were told back in the first season that she was forced to get married, but in the end she divorced her husband due to a very strong personality clash. Although I don't remember them mentioning a son. This was an important part of the presentation of her personality.

@Titadou The old Japanese mentality, where being named sisters or brothers with someone is very serious, almost romantic shit. Read about Class S, which existed in real Japan almost in those same years. It's almost like a platonic "romance" where you can't even be friends with someone else like that because it will be NTR.

We would've gotten a kiss but hey, interruptions exist xD

They should've aired it as the actual 13th episode tbh, and not under the name of an OVA. As I mean this is just continuation of the stuff we couldn't cover.

Forgot how great the OP for season 1 was. Miyo looked gorgeus in that dress. Kinda expected Hazuki to have a son but didn't think i'll be right. Meeting the prince must had been nerve wracking for Miyo. In a way the Saimori family's choice to discard Miyo due to her lack of talent really ended up being a blessing in disguise for Miyo. Funny seeing Asahi see Miyo as a rival for his mom. Though i guess at his age thats realtively easy. The moments at the end were so cute and heartwarming.

How could I have forgotten the OVA before Season 2, but here I am.

Episode 13 of the series clearly taking place after Season 1, with Miyo looking the part as Kiyoka's new fiancée, and her being in her usual social anxiety, but more comfortable skin. With the meeting of Prince Taikaihito Mikado, the person who can see relevations of the future, and apologizing because of his father's obsession for her Dream-Sight ability that started with the Usuba family, that slowly trickled down to Miyo's Saimori family, and then with Kudo's arrival that broke the whole curse sequence with the sequence of events involving the Grave. It was a cumbersome plot to separate both Miyo and Kiyoka, but their marriage bond lasted stronger than the instance, which says so for Miyo's happiness.

It's kind of erratic hearing Hazuki's own son Asahi see Miyo being competition for yet another mother figure, and both women being close sisters at that, their beautiful partnership still stands. And the fact of Arata coming to their place to be Miyo's bodyguard for her Dream-Sight, more than Yurie and Hazuki coming along for the ride, Miyo is slowly becoming the wife of affection for the man who bears the weight of an army on his shoulders.

The Shape of Miyo's Happiness, being found in Kiyoka, she is living the life she always wanted to feel.
