Why is this anime so rarely talked about?

this anime doesnt really get talked about much,its one of the best animes out there arguably better that some anime(such as ousama ranking),yet it doesnt really get any attention outside of mal nor gets alot of attention from mal itself

Ousama is overrated. The second part is just bad, after part 1 was promising. Moriarty is consistent, but I guess it's more an adult show so I could see how it doesn't appeal to as many people as a Disney copy.

Because this is one of the most overrated shows I have ever seen, seriously half of the episode consists of a rich guy saying "hey i'm rich and I hate poor people" and then Moriarty comes and saves the day, literally pretty much all of the episodes of part 1 follow this exact same formula, its so repetitive, boring, and predictable, it almost feels like this show was made for kids with just how stupid all the rich guys would act.

And when Sherlock comes in it doesn't get any better, with the ending being bad as well, they talk like they had a deep relationship before that moment and were like close friends when they barely had time together at all. This is one of the anime that I keep asking myself how can the score be so high because this shouldn't be above a 7.70 in any way.

It's good, but doesn't stand out all that much. Combine that with no controversies + no waifu of the season = nothing for people to talk about. People will rate it an 8 and move on.

This!!! Exactly!! First season is hell of a boring with those 'cartoon villain aristocrats' getting killed each episode by Moriarty. Also in the second season they introduce a lot of useless characters and focus on them too much. We can't even fucking see Moriarty on those boring episodes. They just focus on useless, unmemorable characters so much. Ah and there is that power of friendship too in the end although as you said there was a shallow relationship and no deep relationship between them.

It’s not mainstream since it doesn’t follow the mainstream concept. However, the people that watched it knows that it is really good. I guess people will always talk more about the mainstream ones as they are easy to “digest” for the majority. The premise and the setting of this one is quite difficult to get into for many

Well personally for me, it's a 'masterpiece' periodt.The plot in itself is amazing plus the characters are all so well written. Idk ppl dislike it because of no waifu or fanservice or stuff but imo, it really stands out in the crowd cuz i don't really see anime like this being adapted nowadays.Plus as a manga reader, there is so much more in the store. Hopefully the whole manga will be adapted into anime eventually cuz i can't wait.

I guess your Kind of right,but then again the story is still ongoing i believe so something might change,tho the reason i call this arguably better than ousama ranking is because its interesting to see the way moriarty creates the plans and seeing sherlock solve the mysteries is super fun.overall it deserves an 8 or 9 at average,tho for the enjoyers 10 rating,Also this is technicaly not for Kids as Kids would get creeped out by the setting and the way they kill and potray the disgusting about the rich guys

Also the reason i said ousama ranking was because i couldnt think of anything else lol,tho nontheless one of the greatest shows to be created,the well written characters,the plot,the plans,the mysteries,its so interesting and thats the reason i say its arguably better than ousama ranking:keyword:ARGUABLY,so no its not guaranteed to be better but certainly it Will be a good anime to watch.also guren lagann kinda bad.

No accompanying controversy.

If "Occupy Wall Street" happened while this show was airing, you know it would get mega views.

Plus, I guess a lot of people don't like seeing privileged people "save" the unprivilleged. People didn't like "The Blind Side" for a reason lmaooooo. Even if endorsement from a rich people proves neccessary (thank you Friedrich Engels), I think most people want to have an active role in liberating themselves from tyranny.

Overall, great show, but what we really need is an anime adaptation of "The State and Revolution".

Honestly, I believe that this is one of the best animes out there. The concept is intetesting and the characters are lovable. I'm sad that they cut out a bunch of important details from the manga. In the anime we don't really have a lot of scenes with William AND Sherlock so their friendship doesn't seem as belivable as it does in the manga, they even cut out an entire character!! (Moneypenny)
Nevertheless, the visuals and voice acting of the anime are immaculate!!
This story really deserves more recognition, it's exceptional.

I think one of the reason it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves is because of the lack of fanservice and "waifu" like characters, though I would say that's a good thing because while I love romance I really dislike fanservice. I can see how some people would think that it's too repedative but I would say that it's just a preference thing as I can't really say something bad about this show at all.
It's a wonderful adaption of the Sherlock Holmes books and a fantastically intriguing story on it's own.
All I can say is read the manga and light novels, they're amazing!!

They really fucked up when they botched the 2nd cour dub. No news, no announcement, I just had to keep checking until I saw the rest of the english dub released with the blu-ray. I know sentai does that alot but really peculiar cr did that to the seasons top show.

Personally, I really enjoyed this show, both seasons in fact. As a enjoyer of Doyle’s Sherlock books, I really like this new take on the story. The idea to focus more on Moriarty’s side is fresh and I loved how he is in YuuMori. I will admit, however, that the anime is lacking. If you want, read the manga because it’s better than the anime. You get much more character backstory and side characters (i.e Moneypenny) are far for present. Even better idea, read the books. YuuMori is more like a passion piece in my eyes but it still is quite good.

The historical genre tag is not the most attractive one for most people, and in the case of Yuukoku no Moriarty being devoid of fantasy or supernatural element don't help. If i have time to watch anime, i personally will be looking for something significantly more unique and original.

Also, most or at least half of MAL users are male and there's no "waifu" in Yuukoku no Moriarty, so waifu enjoyers might not even go beyond the synopsis and trailer after seeing the cast.

I'm happy for those who genuinely enjoy this anime though.
