Considering that we (and especially backers who paid to get this) waited so long for this to be available, I think this OVA was pretty underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it's great to see those characters again, but this OVA was way too short. It didn't even end with a resolution. It just ended in a middle of when it was just getting interesting. There were a lot of long segments with repeated animation which is pretty lazy for an OVA this short, but there were also well animated segments throughout, so it wasn't too bad. The music was pretty good, and the dub was great as well. All in all, it was okay for a passion project, but I hope that the next anime project in this universe can be a little more official. |

That's it ? I don't mind it being short but where's the action, gunfights, chase or humour the original OVAs and manga are known for ? Technically we got a bit of everything but it's like tasting something and never getting the whole thing. Sigh... I just hope I live long enough to see a proper adaptation or something more than this. |

Too short but some top notch animation with 90s style. 4/5 |

The original was quite good and it's definitely a let down for how short this is plus its already over once something starts to happen. Seems kinda crap that this was it, especially for people who backed it. Hopefully they'll make more of it since that's quite an awful note to end on. |

What a mediocrity. How long did that almost still shot with Percy's car last? Then the same thing with Bean's...you can do a lot more with that much time and money lol. Just look at independent animators. The original OVA was much better by all standards. This is just a little fanservice. |

Waste of time is what this was. For someone who doesn't know the original, I was left despondent by the plot and action. It simply left me in dismay and 🤨 |

Finally got around to watching this OVA and my greatest fear happened, it sucked. I mean, they had a limited amount of resources but this amounts to a little fanservice and nothing more. I guess the time to have done quality OVAs was the 90s and we'll never get to see great things like the original Riding Bean or GSC (that one deserved a TV series) again. edit: Their official Twitter does say there's an announcement coming soon, does that mean we'll get more? |

Well that was incredibly underwhelming considering how long this took for it to come out, especially for the crowdfunders. Animation is what is to be expected from Creators in Pack contracted out to Magic Bus; but like where are the fight scenes lol? I wonder what happened to Passione, as they were originally supposed to handle animation production. It’s not too surprising that it was transferred to Creators in Pack though, as IRC Hirasawa is a board member of both companies. And I also remember the GONZO guy initially being attached to the project but I didn’t see him in the credits. I’m just going to assume that the project suffered from heavy production issues, especially due to COVID I’m assuming. Well hopefully Sonoda can find sponsors if he wishes to produce more of this content in this universe. |

Wonder what went into production, exactly. |

Seemed like a promo reel to show to investors rather than a work that's meant to be worth watching on its own. Bean was created first and then showed up in Gunsmith Cats so it's interesting to see a version of Bean Bandit with May from GC added. |

Well, this was a big fuckin' nothingburger. I'm not a hardcore fan of the original Riding Bean OVA and even i feel insulted by this shit. Can't imagine how the backers who actually put money into this project must have felt when they got this in the mail after such a long wait. Seriously, if they only had less than 10 mins. to work with, then why didn't they just animate one cohesive scene that plays out from beginning to end? Like maybe a single car chase sequence in which all the characters pitch in in one way or another until the bad guy's taken care of? But no, instead we get these random, seemingly disconnected vignettes of the characters doing some stuff on their own with zero context of their mission and no resolution to any of it at all; just abrupt unsatisfying cliffhangers... and the animation quality is extremely low-budget to boot. I really don't like being this harsh with my scoring of anime, but... ugh, 1/10. |

Honestly quite depressing because back in the 1990's Kenichi Sonoda was very famous in the anime scene (at least in the US). After that, he was pretty much forgotten though. At least Dark Horse had the decency to revise their butchered version of GSC they published back then. |

Just like everybody else says why was it so short, I didn't back it so i don't know what happened but I read the blurb and he was asking for $80,000 to make 40 minutes he got the equivalent to $160 - as in 23 million yen so just thinking is that all you can do. Its just a small taste of the 90s its a shame as one last adventure would have been ideal but this unfortunately was poiintless. |

So let me get this straight - 165,000 $ + more than 3 years and the result is a 9-minute (there are 3 minutes of credits, so it's not actually 12) mix of random, disjointed, barely animated scenes, half of which don't even show any characters - instead having them talk in the background, almost no action, and all of which have no distinct art direction and look like a generic early 2000s cheap show (and nothing like the old OVA)? ... I'd say "underwhelming" is a colossal understatement. This is pretty much a scam. And using COVID as an excuse for every goddamn failure or lie is getting really old really fast. |

I've become skeptical of low ratings on kickstarter project anime as they are usually the result of some backers that are angry over some drama that's irrelevant to the anime it's self. That's certainly not the case here though, what we get here is 7min 30sec of poorly animated action scenes that feel loosely connected, I know the entry says it's 11min but 3 and a half min of the runtime is taken up by A LIST OF BACKERS... This entire thing felt like it was unfinished and they just released this so that the backers couldn't say they didn't get anything out of it. If I had backed this I would have been pissed off and felt like I got scammed. |

"Sigh" atleast the dialogue was on point (also really sweet how they got the OG VA's back for this, especially for the dub). Still tho, not only it was too short, the animation doesnt come nowhere near to the highs of the original OVAs. It's kind of a shame as well, I would love to see these characters actually go on a mission together and interact with one another |
