The final fated match between Kushiro Snow White vs. Nikko Dream Monkeys follows: Maya Walker vs. a team.

From the very beginning, Manaka and Co. already knew that it would be an uphill battle of facing against Maya Walker, and Coach Yoko taught them well for a strategy against the Canadian professional and the rest of the team: 2 separate accounts, 1 culminated game.

Maya's penalty proved good for the Dream Monkeys while Eri and the others had to just hold for 2 minutes against the familiar Yu and others, which had some pretty close calls for a power play, and that is about as frenetic as an actual game. Good to see Eri grow out of her selfishness after bickering with Yu, and that is also just about as good as character development can get.

Enough is enough, everyone comes to a consensus to play as a team, as Manaka earns another win from the usual "last-minute win" trope. And thank God for the victory dance being an one-off thing where all the girls don't wear ice skates but actual shoes on the ice rink itself. "Anime logic" much?

The very first ice hockey anime, but more like a Love Life rip-off than anything. Not good at all.

Kinda predictable, but a nice match. Congrats, girls!

We even got the promised victory dance. :3

Overall, a pretty good show. Next time, how about a hockey anime with the boys? That would be cool.

Finally, we were able to watch the long-awaited victory dance. How the f they can properly dance on that ice rink without any accident. lmao....

Loved it, although tbh the pacing was kinda wack at times but having played club hockey (which isn’t serious at all, but neither the level of the girls) I think hockey feels like that, most games aren’t slug fests and I like that this anime always felt grounded.

To me it’ll always be a 10 cause it helped me feel nostalgic about not only hockey but all the small details that surround it which I love. And although I loved the realism and feel of this anime hopefully this can at least inspire a manga or something so we can get some old fashioned shonen sports anime slug fest cause that’d be cool too lol.

Damn, the dance made in 2D? That's awesome. But it's kinda sad that they not making sequel as they stated in the ending the continuation is in the game. Really like this anime. Not going to forget this easily.

I can't help but think their win was really forced. And once again that idol dance at the end was completely random and out of place.
In my opinion the beach episode still remains the best of the series. 7/10

Well that was a pretty interesting anime tho the ending was somewhat predictable.
Anyway it was a fun cast and ice hockey is a fun sport so it was nice to watch.
I used to play Ice hockey myself so there where things i could relate to which was nice.
In any case i would like to see some more but shamefully it's already over, hopefully it won't be forgotten soon.

Well, already expected a SOL-ish instead of a "Real" sports anime, so wasn't too disappointed. But, even with the repetitiveness, i still like the "Last Second" and "The Protag always wins" trope. And i always love friendships in anime, since i get to see the wholesome friendship i will never have in my life. 9.42/10, could've been arround 7.5ish if not because of the friendship element if i'd be honest.

Well that was to expect but they really won the match, sure it's really heartwarming for them, I'm proud of Dream Monkey and what they achieved, with that time skip at the very end I guess they continued to succeed and they end up playing the world cup, great.

But well overall it will still stay forgettable for me I believe, the characters for both their design and personalities are average and even though the sports concept (hockey) is not something you usually see in an anime it still got developed like most of the average CGDCT slice of life anime, so not bad not good I would say.

Was a great finale. Team play, more than half of the episode was game.

Was a great anime to watch, the animation already was a great plus ,dancing great songs, and cant forget was hot blooded.

Now I still need to buy a Dream Monkeys jersey and get the poster, if they exist officially.

Honestly. Didn't hate the show, but didn't find it that all impressive either. It follows the usual of cute girls doing cute things, and based around a theme, with some sprinkle of drama involved. But that was pretty much it. An OK anime.

Probably the best episode we have got from this show in my opinion. Like they built up the suspense pretty well in my opinion. If all the episodes had focused more on the sport and made cgdct second, this would have been much better. Like I said in the episode 11 discussion, but they should have shown them playing more hockey.

To me, it only really felt they played hockey in the last episode....

Overall I feel they had a lot of potential with this anime and they wasted it :/
The show was not bad, so a solid 6/10.

overall a very meh show. was hyped at the beginning but i grew bored over time. they did the victory dance like two entire times in the show too so like it didn't even need to be a thing. the victory dance honestly just raises more questions which im sure i probably brought up in a previous episode thread:
-when did they have time to practice the choreography?
-why did we never see this choreography practice?
-how did they have the energy to dance and sing after playing a whole entire game of hockey?
-why were the MCs the only ones included in the victory dance when they have a whole bunch of other players on the team?

i already dont really care much for cgdct and my enjoyment of sports anime diminished a few years ago so maybe this just wasn't the right anime for me to watch

You know what...this was one of the few anime this season that actually had character development. I mean yeah it wasn't the best since you had 5 main characters to develop in 12 episodes but for me it worked out.

I loved the animation as it progressively got better over time.

HOWEVER Being a gigantic Hockey fan there were still a few things I wanted to get Picky about. On the Power Play the Puck CLEARLY comes past the Blue Line which is an "Offisdes" but was not called. Yeah I know...I'm that guy.

Other then that the impact on Snow Whites Goaltender at the end of the game and the details on the puck during the close up were really well done.

7/10 I enjoyed this anime.

match went a bit, well, predictable. Yay for Eri and Yu settling things nicely

okay, the transition from hockey game to victory dance felt way too much like a Disney movie.... still really good tho. 2D, good music... noice

I'd say I enjoyed this, even as a Canadian (lol) who wasn't ever interested in ice hockey. really good animation, as expected of C2C. developed main cast better than SelePro lol. Could've used more punching tho. Also more victory dances. And a 2nd season. please.

gonna need to see some more gameplay of the game before I actually commit to it; I remember seeing a screenshot of gameplay on the game's page on QooApp, and it didn't look that appealing.

If you're on desktop and on this website, you should see a big button under the Google Play and Apple Store buttons, which says DMM Games. If you click on this, it should lead you to a login page, which should all be in English. Login to your DMM account (or register; follow whatever steps they ask of you) then you should be pre-registered. I've heard that DMM can require a VPN to play in some countries, just so you know

Since you can't play JP games in other countries under Google Play and Apple, you need to resort to either DMM or another mobile game launcher if you want to play on mobile (QooApp, etc; there's tutorials for this stuff out there). Also if you use QooApp or other launchers instead, you can't pre-register (it will just send you to Google or Apple which both will say you can't play due to region-lock), but it's way easier to find JP/KR games on these types of launchers

hope this helps

Full match episode! from start to before ending credits. It's better than just skit in any episode. LoL

It's a fun showdown from start until before period 3 starts. At that time, it's like... it's time for the "the power of friendship" scene. why...

Now about the idol performance's the scene. To be honest, I don't like it when it performs after a match. Especially after the final match and also the few minutes from the start of the first episode. Maybe many people's reasons are the same as mine, I just skip comments that I'm not currently there, lol

So this is my opinion about that : You guys know generic idol songs, right? the lyric is always about "don't give up!" or "Reach your dream!" or anything about a bright future. Well, in this anime... the song itself mocks the loser. And the one who performs is the winner who just beat them. So it's like, "Ha! I beat your ass, shithead! I destroy your dream, now go fuck yourself!" ... or else. It's a unique idea, but in the wrong place.

In the last line, they say continue in-game. No Global release maybe, because of that... You know what. Don't be a jerk, guys. Be like Captain Tsubasa fans. Oh, and I remember, Exnoa is the developer of the R-18 gacha game that I play. Will this game include an R-18 scene too? I still try to play thou if not. lol

Overall, good anime. So with the last line announced, that means no season 2? it's kinda sad but fine.

Honestly I liked it.
I'm not really into sports anime, so I was here for the CGDCT.

The victory dances were out of place in the series, but the production value of both of them makes me rise the score, idol animes tend to do just badly made CGI models for the dances, so this ones being more in the 2D realm makes it really great.
Liked more the one made in the mid of the season that this last, but both were high quality for something with minimum screen time on the overall plot.

Pleasant overall, it brought a good advertisement for the upcoming mobile game. I just regret a few things :

- even though this is supposed to be focused on ice hockey, they didn't bring a lot of info about this sport in general and it was quickly overwhelmed by the focus on social relations and characters

- not enough pure ice hockey episodes, only 2 games which were very short and failed to bring some sport hype

Overall I don't think we could properly call the plot, a plot. I know sports games are kinda classic, with a super player arriving in a new team/city and carrying them to the victory, using the power of friendship. Even if that was predictable here, I regret the poor story, which will continue with the game though.

I like how no one gives a shit about the other 11 girls from the DM team, like they don't exist.
The hockey part was good and intense, i like how detailed they shown each player's actions, especially Eri and Yu.
Of course Manaka scored the winner and they performed some fucking song. Dude who wrote this obviously doesn't know much about hockey. They supposed to throw up and beg for the death after such intense game but no, they energetically performed some idol thing.

Glory to the Dream Monkies!

They did have a full team of about 17 players but we only saw the six show characters actually on the ice (and they were the rookies lol) but I don't mind.

Story was good enough, art was good enough and characters were good enough I thought my time well spent.

Decent series overall. It worked quite well as your standard CGDCT kind of project but as sports anime, I gotta say it was plain mediocre. The senpai team was practically non-existent, the main girls winning every match (two or three of them being off-screen) was basically because the plot demanded it and the whole Idol stuff felt awfully misplaced throughout the entire series.

6/10 - Beach episode and the one with Mami returning to Nikko will remain as my favorite episodes in the show.

Decent series, certainly had its cute moments as expected from a CGDCT but I found the ice-hockey side really lacking and also the idol dance thing felt way too random. That said I kinda hope we'll get a more tough ice-hockey sports anime someday.

Hm. It's hard to really pin my feelings about this anime down. On one hand, it's a girl's sports anime that's taken relatively seriously. However, it just... came off as a little boring? Like it doesn't have the tone most sports anime seem to have (with the exception of sports comedies). Like nothing truly interesting happened. The tension you'll have watching other sports anime while also watching the characters overcome it just is... lacking.

I appreciated things like Kaoruko learning to use her voice and such and the whole Naomi kinda standing on her own two feet without Riko stuff... as well as the parts with Ayaka having to go at her own pace in regards to stamina as I think that's all important growth. Still, something about it just came off as kinda low stakes to me. You're a team that just got started so no one is expecting you to win and I think even the general idea is hey if they don't win then they don't win but if they win then yay. It's a little hard to really care about the results if that's the feeling you get though. I think the set up of some childhood friends just kinda getting into something (aside from Yuu, Riko, and Naomi) and just kinda... not really having much else to them was perhaps not that intriguing. I was hoping that we'd have a little more oomph to the characters as we skated on, but most of the characters just... continued to come off as flat. It was hard to stay invested. Somehow the Snow Whites were more interesting.

Sometimes I come away from a show thinking that I don't have a favorite character just because all the characters are so good! I come away from this show thinking I don't have a favorite character because no one was interesting-- ahhhh ah ah ah, self. Bite your blasphemous tongue. Sorry. My favorite character in this show was Yoko, the coach, as I stated in my first episode post. Somehow that sentiment never changed although I was hoping it would. The other characters honestly just came off as moe/kawaii pawns a lot of the time, but Yoko always had her own dream. She also had a fun personality to back it up. The personalities of the players just felt kinda just safe. Yoko had negative qualities, but you could understand her and relate even if her passion is not the same as ours.

The music was blah. I'd hear it then suddenly just scrunch up my face in confusion.
And the idol part of this anime was probably the silliest part of the whole anime. Very unnecessary.

Anyway, the anime lacked the oomph it needed to make it engaging for me.

To me, I would like loved to see the other 3 line battle it out also. Sadly, this would mean extra episodes. Thus the focus was also on, like you said, the rookie first line.
