| I wish I was born in the year of the cat. Way to end on stinker Yami Shibai, as ReaperCreeper said the middle of the episode was basically filler, and while it's probably a moral about the guy not being a dick, the fact is that he was getting erased no matter what based on the premise. Also, Mitsuki wasn't exactly a great guy sabotaging him either, wonder why he was able to remember him? As for the season as a whole, the zodiac theme was a pretty nice through-line, and I liked the variety in the stories. The good episodes this season were 4, 5, 6, 10, and 12, and maybe 11. Some others were fine but most of the rest were pretty bad. So about half the episodes were good at a generous reading. Think I'll go with a 5/10, as I do think it's better than most of the seasons. This is probably the third best season after 1 & 6. |
| Man, liked the theme around this season. If only more of the eps were hitters. Lot of tossups with some ppl living which is fine but some of these eps were not really great. prolly a 4/10 only cuz of the theme. |

| This was a decent finale, poor dude just got erased because he was born in the year of the cat somehow lol, not sure how that’s possible but my guess is that he actually wasn’t, I think his coworker did something because he was being an asshole (I mean that design really was shit tho lol), his coworker deliberately sabotaged his contest entry, I think that’s enough reason to suspect that guy. Took me a bit longer than I originally planned but that’s the 9th season down, just one more to go now until I’ve seen all of Yamishibai (because I skipped ahead to seasons 11-13 because I wanted to catch them as they aired). I thought this was a cool one, I really liked the Chinese Zodiacs theme, it made for some very interesting episodes, but at the same time some that kinda fell flat. I think it’s among the better seasons tho, and my favorites this time were “The Man in the Rabbit Hutch”, “Lapdog”, “Spirit Ox”, “Mr. Rooster”, “Snake Celebration”, “Boar Meat”, and “Monkey Prayer.” I also really liked this season’s ED, a good spooky sounding pick. I’m also gonna have to return to Summer 2021 again sometime, I really miss this season. |
