The feeling of "butterflies in your stomach", that's how Himeno is feeling.

Going through all the Minoware to be judged, and Himeno's ceramic cushion gets the attention, espeically from one of the judges from looking like the sculpture in memorial of her mother with the glaze.

Kukuri gets the special prize of "Artisitic Intellgence", and Touko on "Excellence" and Himeno getting the participation award, considering that competition is strong. But eventually, things go back the same way it once began.

YELP, Himeno's ceramic cushion got wrecked by her dad in a normal sitting position, and all is smiles, tears and laughter coming out of this simple-minded girl.

An OK series overall.

Season 2 announced for Fall 2021:

Kukuri and Aoi both got something in the competition but Himeno didn't. I get how she's feeling right now. But, the most important thing she got from this was that her father was actually wanted to sit on it. That made her day and unfortunately, it broke as soon as he sat on it. LOL, She actually achieved what she wanted.

Pretty light-hearted show and adorable at times. Enjoyed it.

Of course she didn't win but at least her father broke it because he decided to sit on the cushion probably because it's a nice parallel with her mother previous works, next season she'll make a chair and her father will break it too

Well, I didn't expect Himeno to win either because the competition was pretty tough.

This was a wholesome and cute show.

It was a good final episode. I thought they'd have a little drama after her father broke it but I'm glad that they didn't. I didn't like this show, it was boring for me. Not really looking forward to the next season.

Congratulations to everyone!
I knew it! Himeno's ceramic cushion will break immediately when someone sat on it. But, she was able to achieve her goal, anyways.

Overall, it was a good slice of life anime. Apart from the pottery side, this anime told us a lot of interesting facts about Tajimi city, it also makes me want to visit this city someday in the future.
The live-action part was kind of changing of pace from the animation to be something 'real'. We can see the real Tajimi, shops, restaurants, interesting sights, from the live-action, which is also very good.

The second season announced I'm looking forward to seeing the pottery girls again.

Now this was a beautiful episode to end this season with. Sucks that Himeno didn't win a prize but hey that's life. Not everyone's a genius but we need to move on and start working harder. Thou I'm happy for Himeno, her wish came true. That part with her dad was quite emotional.

Honestly I was fine with this not getting a new season untill the previous episode but after watching this finale I really got the urge to watch more of this. So I'm glad this got a second season announcement. Really looking forward to it.

English: Congratulations to Kukuri and Tooko for winning important prizes with their objects. They really were very nice. Himeno won the best prize of her life: her father's happiness. It was the achievement she needed to move on.

There will be a second season! I am really looking forward to it!

Teremos segunda temporada! Eu estou realmente ansioso por isso.

Judging is always kinda wack, but at least her friends and family can really appreciate the cushion. Also nice that Himeno was able to get that closure with her dad.

Quite a chill anime, though I wasn't entirely bought with the pottery idea. Wonder what the 2nd season will consist of

Yeah, its just like i thought, Hime got a sweet redemption over her hardworkship. The dad loved it so much, until he couldn't help himself cracking those hilarious ceramic cushion. Seriously, i fuckin knew it that the cushion would be broken as soon as her dad comes. Lul. Also, Hime overthinking the result was absolutely cute part. Judges really don't understand the miracle behind Hime piece, especially with those color. Its just one judge, because it felt like the reunion. But, its not enough. Good thing that at least Hime got an award she deserved the most. Its her dad....

Overall, this is a very touching cgdct. Half duration really can't served all of my urges against their cute activities, too bad. The good news is, there's a second season! So, for the sake of Kukuri-chan masterpiece, this is deserved the solid 8 points from me.

It was a really nice ending, as much as an award would be nice, it was how Hime's father would think of her "It's a cushion" is what's most important to her. Hime's father breaking the cushion was hilarious though lmao. I didn't expect this show to get a second season, but I'll definitely watch it. 7/10

Sadly Himeno didn't win anything but our two other girls, Kukuri and Aoi won an award. It was an okay serie I guess. OP/ED were good. And wow, It's getting a second season. Seems lke it's really loved in Japan.
Ohoho the ending scenes.
6/10.

That final scene when her dad broke it, I suddenly burst into laughter, just as I was watching it calmly.

Though Hime didnt win,and I somehow expected it, still I feel sad for her.

Good thing there's gonna be a season 2 Yatta~

It's a simple anime about pottery. I don't think it deserves a low rating. It's not the best of course, but I honestly like it. It grew on me. The last episode is so good, it made me teary eyed. Also, the father looks so cute. <3

All in all, a decent slice of life anime, I am glad it is getting a 2nd season. I'll be waiting for more of their moments!!

Great finale but this wasn't very good at all overall, too much wastage on random dramatic outbursts, teacher stalking for no reason, hallucinations. When the show actually put focus on something like Himeno & the Cushion it was alright but sadly that was like 4 episodes I think?

Wholesome finale! It may not have been with a prize but Himeno still managed to accomplish her original goal in the end. It was so nice to see her finally getting that closure with her father.

Quite charming series overall. The SoL aspect was executed nicely and also I gotta say I absolutely loved the girls. Still a tough decision for me to choose between lovable airhead Mika and geek Naoko for best girl tho.

7/10 - Looking forward to that second season!

A very nice final episode, sadly Himeno didn’t win anything, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. Her dad sitting on it and it breaking immediately tho, was both hilarious and shocking at the same time, rip cushion.

I remember picking this show up just because of the cute cover on Crunchyroll, but I ended up discovering a very good SoL. Really loved this show, complete with the live action part it was very unique, I loved watching the anime episode following Himeno and the club, and then afterward getting to see the real Taijimi and the VAs do fun and interesting stuff there.

The OP was one of the best of the season imo, and the ED was nice too. Really glad to hear we’re getting a 2nd season of this, I’m curious as to who that character was at the end of the episode and I’m also just happy we get to see these characters again. I also hope we get a live action part for season 2 as well!

Most people will forget this series in 1-2 days.......

But i will always remember it, because "Kukuri"... was 100% exactly as my Best Friend.

Nice Fact..... just another average series... but with a special personal touch.

That was an oddly beautiful and funny conclusion to the cushion's story. I mean of course it would break, anyone even tacedly familiar with pottery would know that that thing wouldn't withstand the weight of a human. In that way it was a satisfying to see the thing breaking since I feared the show would not admit to this cushion design being entirely unrealistic. It's a bittersweet moment for sure, has a bit of that "sakura pedals are fleetlingly beautiful" type of theme going on.
The show previously hinted at the cushion being kind of a silly idea with the judges giggling at it and the one woman just matter-of-factly stating that they wouldn't make this thing even if they had the idea for it, so that was quite clever.

I enjoyed watching this for sure but it's a largely fleeting and forgettable experience with only a few standout moments. Nothing really to critize otherwise with this, visually it was always good and the character designs were fun. The show also had some variety which I welcomed, like the one where they followed their supervisor up the hill in the country. Really fond of stuff like that. Some of those experimental dream sequences were surprising, too. The directing was also really nice in places, some real cool shots like this one:

This screencap actually shows of the theme of anxiety the anime brings forth sometimes quite well.

The specials with the VAs were also a nice watch even if they don't factor into the anime itself but I did like the sense of place and realism the specials brought to the show.

Overall I almost wanna give this a 7/10 but it kind of feels too small scale and inconsequential for that rating. Lets see how I feel about it in a week or two. This finale certainly made me think and reflect a little bit with is kind of surprising. I haven't written something like this for... idk... nomad for example, lol.

edit: this is my 300th forum post - i just realized - so I'm kind of happy that its not a complete throwaway post lol.

An episode of growth that digs deep into the protagonist, going beyond winning or losing, but also giving a third option, that is, personal satisfaction, which in the end is what pays off the most and that gives that impulse to move forward and improve. A season finale that does not put an end to this anime series and that shows how much this anime can still say at the expense of those who complained about a useless and senseless release of a new season, because this one had already said everything, but which in reality is not so, because there are arguments on ceramics and a further plot can be easily written as valid loans abound. An anime seen out of curiosity, but that has been able to involve me a little and that makes me especially enjoy and appreciate ceramics even more. I also liked the places where the story took place a lot, just a pity that the quality of the animations and backgrounds was not higher, it would have brought even more beauty to this anime. I also add the fact that this anime has tried to improve a little here and there.

At the beginning I wanted to give a rating of 6/10, but given how it ended and the desire to improve in the final part, my rating increased by one point, so my rating is 7/10.

Its a decent show.

Already expected Himeno's not winning any larger prizes. But at least she tried and had fun. Lmao when her dad sat on her 'cushion'. Its funny.

The anime is okay slice-of-life for me.

Now time to watch the 2nd season next.

. I don't think she wanted anything else! I love her relationship with her father. They are both so cute! They warm my heart! I have the feeling that both Himeno and her father strive to forge a new path for themselves: Himeno in pottery, and her father in cooking. If you think about it, they could make a great team ;)!

I was so shocked!!!
