Main character personalities are nearly identical. Main character backstories together are identical. Same composers for intro music (probably outros too, can expect an excellent ost) Genre is identical (romance/comedy/tsundere) Similar art style Similar side characters. Excessively long title that can literally be condensed to "Oreimo" Source material is the same format (LN) Isn't pulling the "not blood related" pussy shit afaik The LN was rated 9.57/10 last I checked. My body is ready. I marathoned through every siscon anime I could find after seeing Oreimo, hoping to relive the very unique romance setting, but I did not enjoy any of them to the same extent. On the other hand, there are nearly a half dozen good mangas. It also disappoints me when the authors cop out with a "not blood related" cliche, the whole reason I enjoy this setting is because it is fun seeing the horrified reactions of their peers and other social obstacles they have to overcome - or in Oreimo's case, the fact that he chose Kirino despite having many *acceptable* options, because he cared more about her than about the consequences. I enjoy other taboo romance settings for this same reason (when done right) - to choose true love in the face of major obstacles, it leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy, far more-so than a generic romance. |

AIC and A-1 are experienced companies and dengeki bunko gave them enough money to do it well. however this is the first project of Magia Doraglier and the pv also reveals poverty. this show has just announced that 1st episode early release is cancelled due to work problem. anonymous source from china complained about japanese studio's lack of experience in a forum unrelated to acgn society. he said that japan side was quite slack in giving them character design info -- the design for suzuka in regular dress was given half a month ago. japan side dont give clear demands until they rejects those key frames from china. this work hasnt finished yet, and japan side just rejected a bunch of frame works today. this may explain the cancellation cuz episode 1 is simply not done. aka this show is screwed. |
