Kinda crazy how much happened in this series already. At least Suupuushan is back to normal now.

However, it seems their world is not in stable condition.
The episode's action was alright. Taikoubou and Suupuu make a decent team together when they fight. Nataku is somewhat of an interesting character with his morals. I'm really curious to see how this anime will develop his character.

Only 8 minutes into this episode and I just couldn't take this pacing anymore. With scenes going by so fast AND so many flashbacks, I can't keep track of what is going on when.

Man they are just blitzing through things.

Also what the heck is the point of those flashforwards at the beginning? Like anyone that read the manga already knowns so it pointless for them and for those that haven't it's just spoilers.

eh already so fast 6.06 rating already?

Anyway I admit the direction of this show is bit awkward and some animation too(the art is upto mark tho). Flashbacks were not done in best way. But the story alone engaging me to continue this show(obviously will stick this to end). I think this will eventually get better after 5-6 episode if they are not targeting to finish whole 203 chapter within 23 Episodes.

Well its a little bit hard to watch this episode, i mean it constantly shifts from one story to another, from action to past then action to past, then from one story to another story...

The main problem I have with this anime is that it doesn't really explain itself, it just drops us into this world without letting us know what the character's motives are, etc. But I got one major question, is it trying to do a FMA: brotherhood and skipping all the stuff that was already adapted in the og(I never watched the og) or is it just pacing issues

Other than that the opening is still fucking awesome

Well that was an improvement over the first ep, but no matter how much it improves it looks like the damage is done. Everything feel largely disconnected, despite the obvious connections, and I don't really expect we're goona get attached to any of these characters. Guess they aren't gonna explain any of those terms to us any time soon either.

Dakki seems like a really lame villain too. Despite showing us her easily fending an attack off I still somehow find it incredibly hard to buy that she's that strong.

it is but the big difference is the original anime was from 1999 and last time I checked there is no legal means of watching it and there is no blu ray its still just VHS and DVD.

still not much better than ep1

I wonder how Fujisaki feels now that his masterpiece is butchered like this.

It is interesting to see the Japanese flaming this adaption too. Didn't know the original manga have a lot of fujoshi fans

They could do that but even then 23 episodes for the whole thing is tight af. This is a shame, the later arcs are really fun, you see paopei with crazy powers like jojo stands. The whole series has things people generally appreciate in that kind of show, it doesn't go stupid like bleach or anything. It could have been the next old shonen to connect with a modern audience kinda like hxh did but the pacing is so fast, it's even more rushed than fmab/hxh2011. Makes the whole thing feel like a freaking joke, the old deen anime is a masterpiece in comparison.

There are some things in the original anime that were cut out from this new anime so far. More below.

Guess they aren't gonna explain any of those terms to us any time soon either.

Dakki seems like a really lame villain too. Despite showing us her easily fending an attack off I still somehow find it incredibly hard to buy that she's that strong.

All I can say is, sadly, read the manga (and not the Viz version, honestly, just go for the scanlations because Viz... I wouldn't say butchered, but didn't do a good job on it).

As for the terms, they are actually pretty simple. Sennin is a human with a specific bone structure which allows them to train in a kind of holy world above our own and become essentially immortal. A Sennyo is a female Sennin (Dakki). A doushi is a sennin in training. Reiju are the companion beasts (like Suupuushan). Paopei is a weapon only sennin/doushi can use. There is also a term I forget off the top of my head that is a person who could have become a sennin but never trained as a doushi so they are basically strong humans.

Dakki acts much more evil in the manga. In episode 2, they mentioned the "houraku". The houraku was a terrible torture structure where they would heat it up and then burn people alive against it. They also didn't mention during episode 1 when you see Dakki eating the, erm.... taibon "leftovers" that she looks really crazy while doing so. It also isn't really obvious in episode 2, but when Bunchuu attacks Chuuou, Dakki easily blocks his attack and Bunchuu is one of the strongest doushi. Honestly, though, she doesn't show much of her strength, not even in the manga either, but it is more clear that she is very powerful.

Editing gets adhd & just jumbles random sequences.
All I got was some Pokemon yinyang lotus ironman son was cursed to revive & still has daddy issues till mc fixes him. Weirdly interesting but don't care about any characters yet.
Some bromance with those guys & district politics, lots of name drops of folks we haven't seen...

Nataku=Nezha, a famous god in china, he appears in Investiture of the Gods, Journey to the West, Houshin Engi, Saiyuuki, Warriors Orochi, Smite, Warframe, Fate/Grand Order. Maybe you have watched, readed or played one of them so you fell like you already heard that name.

I mean , the manga finished in 2000, if they're not trying to adapt all this... i have no idea why the hell they'd do this. even worst, it has less episode than the deen anime lmao

It's a shame that people who have no prior knowledge to the lore cannot really appreciate this series... This was definitely not made for newcomers.

The background scenery is stunningly detailed and well made.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Omg wtf what's with all the jumping around between the scenes?

Glad to know that this wasn't meant to be this way.. I am really liking this series but damn the anime's butchering it so hard. Gonna try to watch the original series before continuing with this, hopefully it's really just another case of FMAB where it's gonna rush through the covered materials and go back to having a good pace.
