Lol I actually didn't look at your birth year, was going off of our shared titles and some old school shows which I need to watch that I saw on your list. The Goku and Uub stuff just seemed like an odd note for such a high profile and beloved series to go out on for me. I guess you could say that's how Goku would've wanted it given how non-descript a guy he is, but it still felt a bit off. GT brought a lot more closure imo.
Pleased to hear that you at least like Daima more than Super. I'm expecting something fairly average when I do watch it, but I'll always take more Dragon Ball as long as it's not a flaming dumpster fire. I always thought the demon realm stuff was undercooked in the original series and that Dabura was a huge waste with how cool his design and techniques were, so I do like the concept.
Some authentic oldfag taste here, very cool. Always good to see some GT love in this post-Super world. The ending really was a perfect conclusion to the series. Quite a bit more satisfying than the canon one, imho.
If by copy-pasted you mean 'copied from the wrong version of Escaflowne I accidentally attached it to onto the proper version'- then you're right. The wrong version should be removed. Thanks for trying to help me out, though!
I´m waiting for how super will unfold.
It has the potential to be really good and I have a dislike for GT mainly because it´s not from AT. Also in my country we got an atrocious dub for it and I hated the whole concept of turning Goku into a kid and making Pan of all people into a MC.
I hate Elfen Lied with a passion, it´s dumb beyond redemption.
OHH NO they killed my puppy now i must kill my lovers sister so that he loves me FUCK YOU!
Btw Golden Boy is a great series and has some of the funniest scenes I´ve seen in Anime period, but I´ve read the Manga and it somewhat falls off.
I can see your point on DBZ I guess. I never really watched it all the way through, so I'm not the best judge.
Just because a few shows like Steins;Gate and Higurashi were able to successfully go from VN to anime doesn't mean that it isn't very difficult to do. For every Higurashi, there are hordes of garbage.
I can see this point, but pretty much any VN writer would be considered info-dump heavy compared to an anime
i'm seriously itching to see someone make a version of the christian bible, except they replace every mention of god, jesus, and the holy spirit with "based god," "based jesus," and "the based holy spirit"
You're right about symbolism and I agree that it is meant to be ambiguous. When I found my own meaning about the symbolism in Penguindrum, I wasn't really content. It's not that the meaning of the symbolism wasn't explained. I think if you have to explain something you failed at telling your story, but that I wasn't given enough personally to be satisfied. I appreciate your comment and will take all your suggestions into consideration. Your comment is making me think and I thank you for that!
I certainly can say that IMO you can skip the original TV ending, just as easily as somebody could say that in their opinion you can pass on EoE.
I personally disagree with the notion that watching EoE without watching the TV ending results in missing the whole message of the series, hence my opinion that it can be skipped. But again, acknowledging that not everyone will agree with this opinion is why I described both endings so that people can decide in an unbiased fashion which one they think will suit them, if not decide they'd like to watch both.
I said that it was unnecessary in my opinion due to my belief that the original ending isn't fully what the creator intended. If it were, there'd be no End of Evangelion.
But that's why I then proceeded to describe the endings so that the readers of my review can make their own decision on the matter rather than just blindly accepting my suggestion that they skip the TV ending in favor of EoE.
Yes, I agree that all the characters served a purpose in the plot, I've also mentioned that in my review. But that still doesn't mean they developed. And yes Okarin not only had a more interesting personality, but he also developed strongly. The others pretty much went through nothing. And you're right that I probably should've expected stereotypes in a VN adaption cause it's supposed to be like a dating sim or whatever (it's just that I never played one, and until recently I didn't even know what it is, lol).
And Idk, maybe it's just me but I didn't like the humor in SG for the most part. Maybe my standards went up after watching Gintama or something. And I didn't like the otaku culture stuff cause it didn't really need it in a sci fi thriller, it's out of place.
