Hm, this finale episode is interesting. The amount of focus on A106 made it seem very human almost like it has its own personal thoughts.

It felt like an eerie episode because of the state A106 is in.
Overall, I think this show was pretty underrated. I enjoyed what the creator did with its ideas in particular with the robotics themes.

The feels in this episodes. Oh my god and the music is fitting the scenes so well. I sympathized with A106 even though he is a robot. Really underrated show.

Beautiful finale.

It was interesting to see how Six managed to recover his data using the fragments that were left behind after the reset, those were the visions he kept seeing and the incorporation of these visions along with him watching his creators argue about his future in that half destroyed state made this episode really emotional. For a second I thought A106 might actually be scrapped so they could move along with the development of A107.

I'm really glad that Six was finally repaired, I love how Six's introspection seem to show he believes he has a heart. :)
Glad to see Bewusstsein is gaining recognition because of Six's feats.

Is A107 the preliminary model for Astro Boy? The model on the computer seemed to hint at it.

Overall, definitely a great show. Loved watching Six's various feats, especially as we see him learn, recognize and analyze his surroundings. It was really interesting to see him develop the Ego-conscious mentioned way back in episode 2 i.e. Bewusstsein and learn to show kindness in his actions and develop his own thoughts. The tournament brought that out really well. In a sense Six did carry the show but in another way Six is the show.

8/10, I was gonna give 7 but after the tournament and this final episode I can't. :3

It's sad how they don't even clean him or just look at him... the only one who's taking care of him is Ran

End of this nice anime series, 7/10 to me, with a another nice episode, because we can enjoy with Six evolution during his convalescence and uncertain future, his mind process, and how takes conscience how being and he wants to live!!!
The last sequence after ending was a "good bye", but i hope a second season, because was a interesting anime series.

The feels in this finale. It was sad how Six was being treated in this episode even though they didn't actually mean it. Ran was pretty much the only one taking care of Six.

8/10. Wouldn't mind a season 2.

This episode did a great job at closing things off yet hinting at a possible season 2. There was so much tension throughout the entire episode. Overall this was a great show and one of the more underrated from this season definitely!

Even though Tenma was a HUGE dick in the last 2 episodes, he managed to come around when it counted and I'm happy to see him and Hiroshi make up and act like the brothers we know they are

Seeing Six's journey was a joy to witness and I'm so happy that he not only won the tournament, but he found deeper meaning in his existence through his relationships with his fellow kind and the humans around him (Ran most of all)

7/10 overall, we need a second season!

It was a great episode but so different from the rest of the series. It felt really out of place. It felt more like an OVA than a finale.

Good final episode that focused on the emotions of A106 and his "dreams" during his reconstruction. The final sequence where he jumps into the air like he's flying and sees a "dream" image of Astro Boy flying through the sky is excellent foreshadowing and was a really cool way to end this anime. Overall I give this anime a 6/10 because it had some flaws and didn't use some of the episodes to develop the story they way they should have but I really enjoyed the anime! I believe this will be the only season because there are only 6 volumes of manga and this anime covered all of them...so no season 2 coming for this one and that's ok because they finished things up nicely.
I shall rule over the realms of anime and manga! Mwahhahahahaha!!!

well that was a very depressing ending :(

I liked the anime overall, but two last episodes were very interesting, seeing Six point of view was beautiful but sadly at the end it became nothing...

if a second season is announced i will maybe change the note but if that's the true ending its a 6.5/10 for me sadly.

This anime was 8/10 for me most of the time. Fun to see both guys creating and trying to improve their AI and robot. The wrestling tournament was interesting as well. And to see Six trying to communicate with Mars was nice as well.

Last episode made me change my score to 7/10 though. This was a bit toooo boring and uneventful. And felt a bit too philosophical.

Not going to watch the older Astro Boy stuff but I might watch that Pluto anime which was announced and I hope it is mainly focused on the crimes (crime fiction) and not tooo philosophical else I might get bored too fast.

A pretty great closing episode that was largely dark but had some brightness at the end. Shit, it's got to suck to be a machine with a mind and heart and be able to be turned off at random and wait for others for any repairs. I like that both inventors were self involved and egotistical, they just extroverted it differently, and Six's disrepair shone light on that.

Pretty great series imo. I'll probably buy this on bluray when it comes out, well worth a second viewing.

This last episode made me feel so bad for A106. :(
Really heart-wrenching stuff.

The series as a whole was really fun, though, and they kind of set it up for a season 2, even though they didn't announce anything.

Well, I believe the manga is still ongoing, so perhaps we'll get one. Here's hoping!

@@rvbrick Where do the incoherencies lie? (interested because I didn't watch the show and can hardly find the manga in stores)
edit @rvbrick Thank you. I had some fears for Tenma but I thought it was mainly because of how I already saw him in my mind (his younger self included(. From what I read, I didn't mind the "gap" between the style it was and Tezuka's (just like with Pluto).

@Arashi_Rogue But don't we already know this character development?
edit @Arashi_Rogue Ah, characterization rather than development. ^^
Sorry for the confusion, I thought you were talking about the lack of evolution for the two future roboticists.

Pretty good watched that was nicely paced. Hopefully there is a season two, because more character development would be great. Oh and the sensual nose grabbing was a plus ;)

It was a sad episode and looking at what A106 thought made him even more human.
Sometimes, Tenma really acts like a dick... Fortunately, they fixed A106, it would have been sad if the anime ended on the A107's creation.
Overall, Atom is a very good anime and I love the opening song. I hope it gets a 2nd season.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant the whole cast. Like Motoko, Moriya, and Joutaru. It may just be me but I from these 13 episodes I cant really distinguish anything other than their title/status.

Not a too bad final episode, but I did expected something more!

In general I quite liked this series as it has a quite decent concept with some interesting progression and as it is the prequel to another very great and old anime, I definitely look forward to watch that one day!

All in all a decent watch!

Oh what a disappointment this anime was, I got all hyped for it since this is supposed to be the prequel to Astro Boy but it didn't feel like it.

It was all about Ochanomizu being a dork that treats robots and machines like humans and thinks they have feelings, Tenma being an unlikeable douche and Ran and Motoko being useless.
NO robotics, NO ethics, NO philosophy, NO plot, NO character development, NOTHING.

The first half of the anime is completely useless and the second half felt so forced I thought I was watching some ultra generic shounen anime. The only good thing in this anime was its last episode but that doesn't save it from its incredible mediocrity. It has been a long time since watching a anime felt like a chore to me...

A pseudo recap wrapped in A106's revival. The robot pov, dream & potential emotion upgrade is interesting.
Theme & direction itself is nice, tho hoped it did more earlier on, rather than the pacing dragging SOL (it has good sol but just too long on parts).
Some random bits weren't really needed, like the control chip going to the flour then table, just to get retrieved by villains again. Or robot following given recipe but making inedible udon, yet gets more customers.
All the characters are fun. Tho Motoko & shipping boy kinda pointless.
Thought Tenma & Ocha would break ways, but nice they made up, back to dual genius nose grabbing.
Also expected final 6 to get closer to AstroBoy design, but oh well need sequel.

Damn it, this show was good and yet extremely underrated.
So I'm gonna give this anime a 7 (or 8?) out of 10 score overall.

I think this anime was enjoyable and upgrades to Six were awesome. I loved how he jumped so high like that proves that he is stronger and faster than before( now where is Mars now?). I guess this is the beginning and more is yet to come, and I can't wait for it.

The series had bad marks there and there but I only got to enjoy it when it came to robot wrestling and Six taking out opponents without damaging them. I liked only Ran and Six from the entire characters, but others were all lame as hell.

7/10.

A106 experiencing internal dilemmas within his subconscious shows just how far he progressed throughout the series. For a robot, this kind of deep thinking is beyond the unthinkable. Six was terrified within that he may get discarded just like any other scrap of a robot that out fulfilled its use. His random awakenings as Tenma and Longnose discussed their new project played a factor in his anxiousness. I am content that he was fixed and wasn't forgotten. Tenma may have had his moments, but apparently, he comes through if the situation calls for it. Well, sometimes, at least. The ending though A106 witnessing Astro Boy as a foreshadowing for future events was a pretty nifty addition.

That said, this was an enjoyable ride, surprisingly. At first, I didn't expect much. But damn, I got proven wrong. What truly impressed me was the character designs and smooth, fluid animation, and gorgeous artwork. Truly unique and stands out from other Anime shows. The characters were appealing, most of them at least, mainly Tenma, Longnose, and A106. Sadly the rest, while enjoyable and interesting, was pretty forgettable. This show gave us a bit of an insight as to how Tenma and Longnose became forces of enemies to one another due to their slight contrast in both mentality and ideology, despite seemingly being the best of friends in the beginning. Coupled with the tragic events that followed Tenma shortly after, you can understand how he rose to become a pitiful madman.

It had some potential that was unused and forgotten, but that doesn't stop the show from being fun and entertaining. Quite the underrated series this is. 8/10.

By far the best episode of what was a pretty meagre series.
