A great episode by Diamond no ace standards. If only they stop putting flashbacks after every scene. Had to wait for a long time for our MC to be useful but it was worth it, i suppose.

And dont be surprised, in term of talent alone, sawamura might be better than furuya, that's what shogun said when the series still new

Fucking glorious!!! As great as it is to see Sawamura dominate, I feel so bad for Kawakami. The dude hasn't pitched in like three games now. He's slowly getting edged out. Give the bro some game time coach!!!

I agree!

When you see Haruicchi's eye, you know things are going down!
This episode was awesome, even if I watched it super late. I can't stop screaming when Sawamura pulled off that three strikeouts in a row. This frame says it all, and that smoke from Miyuki's glove.

Haruicchi and Kuramochi's play was epic too! This team is really the best! Hope Furuya doesn't do any regretful in the future.

He used a combination of the palm ball and circle changeup. His palm ball is the one that looks like it breaks down and away from a right-handed batter (though it does more of the latter). His circle changeup slows down more and breaks down/away from a right-hander too (though it breaks more down than away).

YES YES YESSS! So proud of Sawamura and Seido!

I cried three times this episode, once when Sawamura first used his change up, once when they won, and then again when Go-chan cried.

Onto ep 26!

This ep had so much going for it:
Eijun prooving that he gunna take that ace spot one day XD
Haruichi proving he gat the skills for a wooden bat and shoving it in Ochais face :3
and showing that he can fill big bro Ryo's shoes.
Pretty much this.Lol at Ochiai sweating and remembering what he said to Harucchi after he scored that homerun.

I understand Furuya is threatened by Eijun with him vying for his ace position and all but damn,it seemed as if he was more pissed/jealous at Eijun for doing well on the mound and less elated about the fact that Eijun's pitching was helping them win.

In addition to the really satisfying conclusion, that Haru and Kuramochi duo showing their capability really made me happy.

Unfortunate for team was sacrificed for Sawamura's breaking ball haha.

talk about digging shit up from the grave but I really couldn't ignore your last sentence. Please correct me if I've misinterpreted, but I don't believe the team was sacrificed for Sawamura's case as he was able to 1) show that he could somewhat competently throw the changeup while he was at the bullpen and 2) was told before the game, to only use it when they were in the lead.

I believe this situation is different to sacrificing team for Furuya as everyone at that point in time knew that he had a weak early game and still needs to work on his stamina(roll). This game was different. Despite giving up two runs in the first inning, Sawamura did not concede anymore runs from the second inning. Sawamura being able to throw the changeup showed that he is starting to grow into a reliable pitcher and step up as a potential candidate for the ace position. If he had failed then, I think he would've been subbed out because no one single player is worth more than the team.

Just my two cents. Awesome episode overall and Sawamura is definitely giving Furuya a run for his money. Their battle for the ace number is starting now!

ps. understandably, Sawamura's chant can be a bit hard to hear. But going by what the animators have put on-screen, he's saying "おーし!おし!おし!(ooshi! oshi! oshi!)" with the "shi" pronounced more as a "sh". Now, may we all chant with confidence with Sawamura

Watched a bit of the episode today, and from what I can remember this is the first match Sawamura used breaking ball.
So basically to me it felt like the opposing team in this match (I think Onoya or something) was sacrificed/lost just for the sake of showing Sawamura's growth
Hopefully I got my message across properly, excuse my grammatical mistakes.

Ahh! That's what you meant! I totally understand now :) and yea, gotta agree with you there then >< the opposing team put up a good fight though considering they were a public school that is heavily focused on academics. Legit, kudos to them for getting to the quarter finals despite not having the facilities and time for baseball like Seido. It was really great to see how they were able to think plays by being creative/adaptive :) thanks again for clearing that up! Now to watch the next episode xD

OMG o_O I can't believe what I'm seeing ... Sawamura really improved a lot and became reliable. He also pitched the all game, Way to go, man! This is what I've been waiting for so long, a perfect (well, almost) game from Sawamura. Really tired of Furuya and all the attention around him, when the protagonist is Sawamura. Also, in the previous game, with all that talk from Sawamura about Furuya being the ace made me think the show was going down, but now, this game changed my mind. Can't wait for the next game!

But I always feel bad for the opponents.

Okay this how I know I have a big heart. Because I’m thanking the coach for teaching sawamura. I feel so terrible looking at Furuya see him grow. And I know when Furuya bats I get annoyed but like even seeing him see his rival get better makes me feel really bad for him. But like that’s always been me even irl. I never aim for the top when I know I can beat people because I’m scared of hurting their feelings. I get done with a test first and I wait til 10 people get up. I can sing but in front of people I sing terrible because I’m scared they’ll be annoyed. I can draw but I keep it to myself because I know people wish they could sometimes. So I do feel bad for Furuya but that’s just how I am. I feel bad when I’m able to do things someone else that wants to can’t.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is actually a huge milestone for Eijun as not only he now has a breaking ball but this is as far as I remember the first time at Seidou he has pitched all innings of a match.

"He might get on the same level as Furuya" Oof props to that high praise coming from Miyuki yossha!!!

Sawamura's face when he got praised can't get over my head 😂 Cute and funny!

This whole episode is just wholesome.

Harucchi home run?? *clap clap* Oshiai better be reflecting in himself :P (Coming from a person rewatching the whole DnA lol)
And Sawamura pitching until the end? HECK YEAH

Liking that last bits of Go-chan crying :)

It is so satisfying to see Chris's proud face, and also when everyone starts to acknowledge Sawamura much more!

Furuya obviously can't stand still after Sawamura's changeup, hehe.

What's with the sudden home run from Harucchi? That's so unexpected because I would have liked more screen time when he hit that home run. As always, he's so cute when blushing :3.

Serve it right to that Oaichi coach! Harucchi proved his words are wrong.

we know that eijun has already acquainted with changeup pitch in his junior high (itbwas still rough tho), and luckily he hone his changeup prior 2 days from the tournament, it was also with ochihai coach that he able to do it, did he finally acknowledge eijun that he can overcame his yips and throw a changeup???? 😭

ah okay my personal comment for this episode beside eijun's ability to pitch a changeup ... i was surprised by harucchi's home run and his bond with kuramochi in double play ahdhsjajs, he has grown very well, ototo-kun!!!

also seidou roster found eijun is a reliable teammate huhuuuu i wanna cryyy, go go aceijun #1!!! not to mention his funny face when his teammates say so HAHAH HE KEPT HIS DUMMY FACE ALL THE TIME AND TOLD HARUCCHI TO NOT GET COCKY JUST BY A HOME RUN??? BRO YOU WERE SMILING ALL THE TIME, OH MY EIJUN MY SCRUNKLY BABY I LOVE YOU DUMMY 😭
