THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I'd say this episode was pretty clever, at least with the tactics used. A lot of strategies going on as both sides play their cards.

The action was okay and I think Bell really got himself into this conflict big time now. Klim still remains my favorite in the show with the way he takes risks.

Not a bad episode, the new MS remind me more of the Crossbone Vanguard's Den'an Zon than the later BESPA designs.

Klim Nick is such an idiot, and did anyone else notice the Colonel making a discrete exit when the General turned up?

A bit confusing at first because Mask just suddenly joined them, but I'm starting to understand things a bit better now that the moon people have been introduced and shown as kind of a mutual enemy bringing the Earth people together.

is that grunt fodder mech from Victory? the design, especially head part so similar
this barara girl seems like a naughty girl for some reason, little hamann <3
i kinda get it, so towasanga (ppl ffrom the moon) with more advance technology are helping earthling to rebuild the earth, and later seize it for spacenoid to live and make colonies there like in UC. heuheu cant let that happens, we need turn-a indeed.
maybe they created taboo so earthnoid tech will not advance too much and its easier for spacenoid to invade it later with much advance technology

I wonder about Towasanga being on "the other side of the moon". Does that make it Granada, a different Luner city or a replacement for Side 3, effectively making the Lunarians the new Zeon.

Same here, the head looks like the stuff the Zanscare empire uses.

I was wondering about the same, because lunar cities technically are colonies as well. I am sure they said Towasanga is a "colony on the other side of the moon", yet it might mean equally a city, a Bunch, or a Side at this point.

Doretto apparently plans to move Kashiba Mikoshi near the Elevator and I am at odds what they are planning to do with the satellite (which produces the photon batteries). In terms of military power and technology, the lunarians are way better than the earthians. Let say they have been simply waiting for the Earth to recover till now, still seems odd if the goal was merely to invade it (the Reconquista Plan).

Now, judging by Raraiya's reaction to the moon fleet and the General, I'd say that Towasanga might be in the same political disarray in which the Earth currently is. Someone made the G-Self and sent it down, the blueprints of the Hermes Foundation had been leaked to earth countries, ... and Cumpa sneaked out gloriously before the General entered the cathedral :L

Some pics ^^

I don't remember a shield doing this in UC, but it was cool and all:

This was a good plan:

And this is a good plan:

Klim is an idiot :), Aida got better, don't tell lame jokes about Raraiya, and I hope Manny won't dieface reality in the next episode :P

Mask suddenly joined Klim and Bellri kind of surprising me.

Mask, Klim and Bellri are working together.

Blueprints (here) are engineer drawings and sheets with designs of mobile suits, spacecrafts, and other weaponry or armament.

The blueprints may also contain instructions for production, exploitation, and information on compatibility b/w various tech parts (backpacks or weapons to suits and crafts).

In the anime, these blueprints are in possession of people, whose ancestors lived in a distant era (the Universal Century). The ancestors created a colony on or near the Moon, named Towasanga, and a foundation, called Hermes Foundation. The blueprints bear a name similar to the said foundation - the Rose of Hermes.

Crown is what you see first in the opening. It should be the few yellow globes beaded together; they are the part of the Orbital Elevator, which goes up and down the elevator, transporting cargo and tourists, but most importantly, ships the photon batteries down to the earth.
The orbital elevator connects directly the surface of the earth with space. The first stop is the Biclover - the ground level of the elevator, the last stop is Sankt Porto - something like a penthouse in space.

seriously throwing out names and locations out of the blue isnt going to make the show watchable towards a lot of audiences...
The show is rather predictably unpredictable thanks to the loose canon alliance and enemies that is typical of Tomino stories (watch Zeta for some older examples.).
some of the logics dont seem solid enough ...
Still traditional one battle and one backpack a week continues...

not bad 7/10

Based off of the fact that the second half was quite good, this show stays watchable for now. If only they could fix the fact that pretty much one half of every episode is boring, and nonsensical.

I'm still sticking with the series, because I feel like it might be getting better in the near future though!

I love how they keep trowing curve balls at you. Things also seemed to have escalated fast, and then de-escalate even faster after the moon people come out and blunder (clearly the war and combat thing is new again for many of the people consider they can't even aim properly)

And Bell being adopted! oo them twists :D

Great episode!

Kinda weird how a few episodes ago they were hell bent on killing each other, but this one episode they started acting as a team because they know it threatens Earth as they know it.

It was kinda cheap of them using the white flag to fool the enemy into surrendering, but it was smart of them to notice that it was a trap right away.

And lol using Sankt Porto as shield.

And yeah the people from the Moon kinda looks like it came from Turn A Gundam :P

It will be interesting what the moon looks like and how it maybe much more advance than capital tower and all.

Can't wait for the next episode!

It seems that the alliance will bring a lot of battles in the near future, but also other.
Episode similar to what we saw earlier, narratively differs little from the usual, just that little due to the logical thread during the clash.
Drawings and animations OK!

So basically, the moon has always been occupied by the people of Towasanga. Their technology is more advanced than those on the Earth, and they are the ones who supply photon batteries and the source of the leaked blueprints. And it is only recently that some people (including the Amerians) began to find out about this threat from above. Meanwhile, Towasanga might have been harboring its own plans to reoccupy Earth after it's developed to a certain point, hence the reconguista that Klim was mentioning. The leader of the Capital Army is likely connected to the Towasanga somehow -- may even be involved in the leak of the blueprints -- as he was in a hurry to dash out before the Towasanga personnel arrived.

To be fair, by no means is it difficult to try to piece together the plot after you're done watching the episode. But during the episode itself it's really confusing at times, and somewhat unnecessarily so, as they really only need to spend like what, 10 seconds to kind of clear things up? Still going to be following the show, but there's a line between spoon-feeding the audience and just not caring to explain, and this series is definitely leaning far toward the latter end.

Makes sense to team up against a common threat. Wonder if they'll just fight the moon force, or perhaps end in the usual three way fashion Gundam franchise really loves.

This episode was brilliant. Between the sarcasm before the battle, the locker room scene and the elevator scene there's a mix of humor and liveliness here that really stands out to me. And who can forget the one dude casually sneaking out before the negotiations start. I'm having a blast with this. Tomino really knows to create a world and just smack you in the face with it. The complete opposite of boring.

The introduction to Towasanga's fleet and mobile suits had this strong Zeon vibe in terms of visual presentation. Though the macro situation resembles Turn A a bit.

Still wondering what's the purpose of Barara's...antennas? Surely they aren't there just to make her look like a bunny, right?

Pretty sure the cooperation could've happened without placing the most precious pilots and mobile suits into the hands of the Capital Army.

Looks like Aida remembers who Mask actually is. And Manny conceals some info from her friends while being pretty sad inside.

The new Towasanga pilot, "Gettie Rockpie", is voiced by a total newbie in voice acting (typical Tomino again). He sounds suspiciously like Glemy Toto though.
