Although their not similar in content, they are similar in execution and style... So basically, if Gurren Lagann was a magical girl anime, it would be Heartctach Precure! (And vise-versa.) -Both have awesome and over-the-top battle sequences. -Both have the "Determination" thing going on. -Both play their genres straight, but in a good way. -Both have simple plots that are executed very well. -Both have great characters that make you want them to persevere. -Both share crazy art styles and style of animation. -Both share very funny comedic moments. -Both have hot blooded characters in them. (Kamina and Kumojaki respectively.) -Both have heartwarming moments. -Both have emphasis on teamwork. If you liked one you may like the  read more

Magical girl series that feature touching episodic stories, mostly surrounding the classmates and family of the protagonists. They also share character designer and are made in a way for fun exaggerated character reactions.

Hanayamata and HeartCatch PreCure are both colorful anime that feature a whole bunch of flowers, especially pink flowers like cherry blossoms. The main character in both shows is a shy girl who meets a much more energetic girl and kinda wants nothing to do with her until they spend some more time together with this strange girl's hobby. Both shows also have this charming, bombastic energy to them at times, though HeartCatch PreCure is more of an action-packed magical girl show.

Both titles are mostly episodic in nature, but loosely feature an overarching plot. There are Magical Girls, and pets. And in most episodes, a flower and its meaning in the “language of flowers” are presented. The flowers are usually also linked to a character in the series. If you are interested in magical girls of various decades and the flower language, both titles may be for you.

Both series center heavily around the use of supernatural elements to help people to understand their feelings and live in better harmony with the world around them after having the unconscious thoughts put into words.

Both shows have a world that is bright and cheerful, and comical aspects, and this despite the darker undercurrents their settings have. Also both shows feature magical girls, one of whom has what could be described as PTSD symptoms.

A more Sailor Moon like show than most Cutie Honey anime , its also done by Toei Animation , with the same Sailor Moon Staff to boot

Both animes have a similar premise. Shy girl who wants to change meets a magical pet and she becomes a magical girl, gathering a friend group in the process. Many of the characters have similar traits and you can draw parallels between them, for example both Akari and Erika struggle with having popular older sisters and it plays a role in their character arcs, you also have Yuri and Sara who are both smart but very quiet and usually keep to themselves. There are some other big similarities that I can't say because it's spoilers but you get the gist of it. Story wise, the  read more

- Both feature a somewhat naive but good-natured female lead - Both mains are Magical Girls to some extent, although Heartcatch is more obvious with it - Both feature cute plushie-like sidekicks to teach the mains about their responsibilities - Both involve themes of resolving conflicts in order to collect certain items (heart seeds and confetti respectfully) for a larger end goal

There's a very good reason why these two casts in particular had a crossover movie: both seasons are much more notably cartoonish and silly than other precure seasons (when they want to be). Both have very goofy casts, memorable villians, and similiar enough pacing. All aside, I think anyone who likes one should check out the other.

Both Involved Two Main Characters Who Transform Into Strong Magical Girls Both Have Crazy And Bizarre Fight Scene Both Maybe Sometimes Get Dark In A Different Way Both Have Similar Main Characters Both Are Very Fun To Watch Both Have Impressive And Beautiful Background Art And They Both Have A Similar Ending If You Like Flip Flappers, I Would Recommend You To Watch Heartcatch PreCure, Pretty Much It Is The Other PreCure Season That Might Have A Similar Feel When You Watch It

Six Hearts Princess and HeartCatch PreCure are two magical girl anime that start off with some fight that seems to take place before the events of the story and feature a pink-haired girl as the main protagonist. She then meets a magical talking familiar who gives her the power to transform into a magical girl. The OP/PV for 6HP also sounds and looks quite similar to HeartCatch's OP, so it's possible 6HP was originally a parody of that show or the Pretty Cure series.

Same genre anime, the villains are trying to get the pure hearts from humans in Sailor Moon S, while the villains in Heartcatch Precure are trying to get the heart flowers from humans.

Shy and energetic duo of red and blue magical girls, though the colors are reversed.

For one point the character design is a obvious similiarity between both, but not quite the only one. Heartcatch Pretty Cure usually has its quite episodic scheme of having a light focus on a character somewhat close to the main characters, or whom they meet. These characters have troubles, hence get there withering "Heart flowers" stolen and transform into monsters, whose probably one special aspect is that they are now able to freely outspeak their trouble. Doing so, having sometimes the source of their trouble hear that (and with a bit help of the Cures purifying magic of course) their trouble get in some way or  read more

The premises are different. But both are episodic Slice of Life-Drama series with lighthearted comedy in between. The characters are very nice (Heartcatch Precure has some villains because it's classic premise of mahou shoujo fighting evil, but I am talking about the protagonist and side characters who make the story here). They can restore your faith in humanity (a little) if you have lose it lol.

The main duos in these shows are strikingly similar in that the protagonist is the quiet, low-key, and well-reserved type who needs the confidence to face the world and her partner is the loud, in-your-face, eternally optimistic, and energetic type who is the main reason why the protagonist gets out of her shell. These two shows are among the most unique representations of their respective genres with huge multiple demographic appeal. From their amazing soundtracks to their eye-catchingly amazing visuals and well-done voice acting (especially from Figure 17's English dub), both shows just scream epic and enjoyable with masterful narratives, interesting premises, and generally great  read more

Both anime follow a similar formula: a character has some problems or is feeling down, then the bad guys steal his/her heart flower and turn him/her into a monster or try to make his dream come true which causes trouble for everyone and it's up to the heroines to defeat the bad guys and turn things back to normal.

These two. I wasn't expecting to laugh as hard as I did. Both of these are super humorous. I just laughed almost every single second of them.

There many similarities between these two show: 1. Mahou shoujo - Girls save the world with fighting against some dimensional thing or monster per week. 2. Tsubomi and Matoi (Pink) is pretty much same. Timid girl who want change herself. 3. Erika and Yuma (Blue) is energetic-type girl and always bluntly says what she is thinking.

They're significantly different in tone, but are very similar in many ways. The plot revolves around the life forces of everyday people, which is the source of the magical girls' power. But when the life force is corrupted by stress and grief, it turns people into monsters. The pink girl is insufferably naive and shy, but underneath hides boundless potential The blue girl seems energetic, but is deeply troubled by what she can't achieve The yellow girl seems like a tough and flawless role model, but hides a softer side. The purple girl feels guilt over a tragic event, and seems cold and heartless because of it, but  read more

Heartcatch is basically a magical girls counterpart of DBZ during the fights: Flying and teleporting characters, crazy kicks and punches, visually absurd energy moves clashing each others... Even some sound effects! If you like the fight style in Dragon Ball Z you are likely to at least enjoy the action in Precure.
