Denpa-teki na Kanojo

Delinquent Juu Juuzawa is a lone wolf who does not see much use in befriending people. So when a girl named Ame Ochibana claims they are linked together from their previous lives, he is highly skeptical and doesn't want anything to do with her. Even stranger is that her fondest wish is to be his servant. Thinking that Ame must be delusional, he tries to distance himself from her. But when a classmate is murdered, Juu instead decides to keep her close, believing the strange girl to be the culprit. However, her intelligence and skill begin to prove invaluable as the two begin working together to solve the murder.

Denpa-teki na Kanojo weaves together a story of love, loss, and devotion, showing that allies can be found in the most unlikely of places.

Electromagnetic Girlfriend is an eccentric little gem of an anime, absolutely packed with suspense, mystery, and adventure from start to finish. I went into this with the weirdest expectations because of the title, but not even 10 minutes in those expectations were flipped on their head, and I was hooked. Beginning with the story, it really pulls its weight considering just how short the show is with a scant 2 episode run. Without giving anything away, the setup is very out-there but soon builds itself up into this engaging, even surprising story, backed up by some great writing. The mysteries ... are so unique and detailed and take these turns that are just impossible to see coming. This aspect alone is incredibly impressive, and this anime's strongest point.

The art is very solid overall, with distinct character designs and a level of background detail which really brings the world to life, which in turn makes the mysteries more compelling.

The sound is also well-crafted, with impressive voice talent and accurate sounds of life, like footsteps on wet pavement or the buzzing of flies. This is all not to even mention the music, which adds this ethereal sense of mystery and danger to any given scene.

The characters that find themselves in these mysteries are also compelling, and act in ways that feel both classically styled for a mid-2000s anime and also grounded in pretty believable motivations, especially Juu's reluctance to entertain Ame's seeming delusions, or Hikaru's desire to protect her sister. Overall, Electromagnetic Girlfriend is a solid mystery anime, especially for how short it is, and is definitely worth a watch. Indeed, my biggest count against it is that there's not more of it, as even the manga itself is pretty short. Do not sleep on this, at best you'll love it and at worst there are worse ways to spend 80 minutes.

Mixed Feelings

Unlike most anime this one at least tries to be a bit shocking rather than holding itself back trying not to ruffle any feathers.
It reminds me of the game Rule of Rose and early Higurashi seasons.
The main issue is that it's merely a 2 episode introduction each covering a different little murder mystery involving the main character duo of overdone schoolkids, so there's only the start of a story here of bizarre denpa derangement that doesn't have a chance to actually go anywhere for an overarching story, and without that it's mostly just schlock horror. So really it's LN/manga-bait.
The English title is a bit confusing ... because really denpa should've been left untranslated as denpa is more widely known as a genre meaning 'mental derangement horror' based on modern urban legend conspiracies about cell-towers' electromagnetic waves sending secret signals/causing people to go crazy and whatnot like that 5G conspiracist stuff for example. The radio-waves label is just 1 example with the intended meaning of denpa pointing to all those related phenomena as a whole. Hence why radio-waves don't actually have any relevance to either episode despite it being denpa.
The other issue is that it's quite low budget art/animation.

Easiest way to explain this should would be if expection bar was low as it possible could be , like its on the fucking ground , Denpa-teki na Kanojo sees this, gives a smirky look and proceeds to start digging tunnel underneath the bar.
Denpa-teki na Kanojo is one of hollowest work of anime i have ever watched to the point that i was pretty sure this was a troll show made deliberately to be absolute trash and i feel like idiot for falling for low level bait.

moving on , this show is listed as mystery thriller, school although it should say ... "complete dumpster trash".

Listen show then cast consists of 4 characters and 2 are protagonists and one is killed, its doesnt take collective deducing power of L, Sherlock and every detective in existence to guess who murder might fucking be.

thriller , well yes if in about 40 minutes of watching there are bout 2 frames showing dead bodies counts as thriller . So you not going to be getting any juvenile violence to entertain you.


ah yes school . Well school part is just excuse to have characters be high schoolers and so that sho can go "booooh look at this high schoolers being guilty and making yandere faces booohh so scaaary'

I'll be frank unless your 6 or your definition of horror includes shitily edited ghost videos from 2010 youtube, this show is one of laziest works of fiction you will come across and I advise to go watch something else like Shiki
