Star Wars: Visions and The Animatrix are anime anthologies based on blockbuster action film franchises. Both anthologies contain nine individual short films about new stories taking place in the films' universe. Each episode is written and directed by a different animation studio. These anime reference characters and events from the base franchises. It is recommended you watch the films before these spin-offs for a fuller experience.

Very similar concept. Famous brand adapted by short anime-style episodes. Each created by another studios/specific style.

Both are anthology series from franchises that are popular all over the globe. For both series, different animation studios worked on each episode.

Episodic tales in space, each instalment featuring new staff and a different directorial vision. Neither anime has much if any coherence i. e. an overarching plot (aside from the recurring crew of Space Dandy), but the draw here is seeing how much can be done in a limited runtime and in what is basically an inexhaustible setting.

Residing in the space opera & sci-fi genres; both have strong roots in, or style inspired by US-American pop culture. In parts, the Star Wars franchise uses the same wild-west influece Cowboy Bebop picked up decades later. While Visions is a pure anthology, CB includes anthology-like storytelling from episode to episode. Considering these factors (and surely a lot more that escape me right now) you might discover a large overlap in atmospheres and environment. Obviously, the two are both quite popular / mainstream.

Similar look and feel of both shows, with the Japanese style designs and settings. The characters in both protect children and those weaker, like villagers, make found families. In both there's also a magical power (the Force).

Both of these anime are similar to Star Wars but in slightly different ways - SW Visions concentrates on epic duels Jedi vs Sith while LOTGH is about military and ideological conflict of Empire vs Rebellion (it's like SW without the Force). It's worth watching both!

Both SW Visions and Gintama both have samurai (Jedi) mixed with scifi setting of space travel and aliens. SW Visions has more Japanese style settings and characters too than regular SW, which makes it similar in feel to Gintama. Also, Gintama had an arc parodying SW once too.

What would happen when you give some of the most popular American franchises to Japanese animators? In 2008, we were given the opportunity to find out with Batman: Gotham Knight, a six-film anthology collection. It took 13 years until the release of Star Wars: Vision for a new anthology collection based on an American franchise. With the support of Disney+, it easily the most well known and liked Japanese adaptation of an American franchise. Both anthologies involved multiple studios creating their own shorts with industry veterans. It makes for two very eclectic collections with very different ideas for the Batman and Star Wars.

If you liked episode of SW Visions: The Twins, you'll probably also enjoy Kill la Kill by the same studio. Both have crazy fights between siblings and the same over the top style.
