Star Wars: Visions and The Animatrix are anime anthologies based on blockbuster action film franchises. Both anthologies contain nine individual short films about new stories taking place in the films' universe. Each episode is written and directed by a different animation studio. These anime reference characters and events from the base franchises. It is recommended you watch the films before these spin-offs for a fuller experience.

- They have the same number of episodes. Additionally, the episodes vary in length.
- The Animatrix has episodes that greatly expand the lore and history of the universe, but Star Wars: Visions tends to lean more on individual stories, though The Animatrix tells plenty of individual stories as well.
