Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season Part 2

Throughout the entire second part, I felt as if the director was trying to force-feed me some incomprehensible mush, and in the end, I had to consult the light novel readers to understand what was going on. My frustrations, detailed below, practically set my nerves ablaze.

What felt off:
- Subaru and the Unseen Hand:
The Unseen Hand appears for him in a situation that don’t threaten his life. When a demon beast or Garfiel wants to shred him to pieces, he doesn’t use it. But suddenly, when there’s no immediate life-threatening danger (like striking Garfiel when he’s no longer a ... threat), he decides to use it, complete with a dramatic face, as if to make viewers think, “Wow, that’s so cool, I didn’t see that twist coming.”
It reminded me of this meme about Goku and Donald Duck:

- There's way too much pomp around Elsa.

- They cut off the storyline with Echidna and the warlock. It's a bit disappointing.

- Terrible CGI. The rabbits were horrifying in their 3D rendering and gave me emotional scars just looking at them.

What’s still decent:
- Setting. The world-building remains interesting. Despite its naivety and flaws, the story isn’t boring, which is a plus.

- The voice actors did a good job. For instance, Roswaal’s VA and several others were standouts, especially during Emilia’s trial scenes.

- Subaru’s New Design. Finally, he gets a wardrobe upgrade! I was so tired of his tracksuit, it didn’t fit the setting at all. Now, with his new look, he’s a proper heartthrob, at least in terms of design.

It’s worth a watch, but with tempered expectations.

While the animation and character building of those outside of Subaru's typical party was nice, the amount of background info/flashbacks gets overwhelming and boring. A lot of talking but it doesn't feel like any progression occurs until the last 1-2 episodes which is not what I need from a season separated in two parts. That's not including the fact that it feels like someone was upset that Emilia was not as popular as Rem, so the only solution to help increase her popularity was by removing Rem in general. I recommend watching this part in sped up form to skip most of the talking. Especially ... since most of the flashbacks barely answer any questions and just add more to the list of 'What's going on?'

The second season amplifies the first's problems while dragging out its story. The Sanctuary arc introduces Echidna as yet another addition to the potential harem, complete with manipulative tea parties that try to be unsettling but end up feeling like another romance flag. Can you imagine drinking someone sperm? No, right? Why would you drink her disgusting stuff. If Subaru took up her contract, it will be If route: Greed, Subaru would died 100 mil times of cheap death which is a viral sound on tiktok. Absolutely lame

Emilia yaps more. Despite her supposed power and importance, she constantly needs Subaru's help. Do you feel this ... is like blind lead blind? Pathetic. Her past trauma but never quite delivers on making her a fully realized character.
Beatrice's storyline is weird, she choose to be alone and wait for THE ONE, she can even just die inside the castle BUT subaru has to safe her because she can also become his harem partner. The "choose me" scene aims for emotional impact but leads to awkward parent-child dynamics, just because he choose to save everyone. A 400 years old women stuck in an underage girl's body, he constantly hugging her and hold hand like she is a child. If this not promoting pedophilia behaviour, I don't know what is.
