'Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu' Gets Third Anime Season

The Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-) special stage at AnimeJapan 2023 announced a third anime season for Tappei Nagatsuki's fantasy drama light novel on Saturday. The event also revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and a teaser promo.

Nagatsuki originally launched the series on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in April 2012. Kadokawa began publishing the novel featuring illustrations by Shinichirou Ootsuka through its MF Bunko J imprint in January 2014 and shipped the 32nd volume on December 25. The 33rd volume is scheduled to go on sale on March 29.

White Fox produced the first anime season in Spring 2016, covering the first nine volumes. The Memory Snow side-story OVA opened in Japan in October 2018, followed by the Hyouketsu no Kizuna (The Frozen Bond) prequel OVA in November 2019.

The second season aired in split cours, with the first cour airing in 13 episodes in Summer 2020 and the 12-episode second cour in Winter 2021. Cunchyroll simulcast the season as they aired in Japan.

Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and shipped the first season on home video in two installments in June 2018 and February 2019.

Yen Press licensed the light novel in December 2015 and published the 21th volume on March 21, with the 22nd volume scheduled for release on June 20. The company also publishes the manga adaptations and the Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu Ex side story.

Much to nobody's surprise we have a third season...I heard that this one will be over 30 eps long too so I'm glad that fans of this series (Like myself) will be eating good

S1 was way more than just decent, it had 3-4 episodes that had insane peaks to me, that were done better than in the LN, but while I have yet to see S2, Arc 4 itself is more balanced and consistent that previous arcs, so I can agree with it being PEAK ReZero up to that point, thought I doubt S3 will beat S2 in terms of creepiness, it is certainly more action packed so as an anime might work out really well setting up some EPIC moments and great character development.

Definitely peak action, I have always enjoyed re:zero, really excited for S3 just for the development in the story

They had to announce a couple weeks after I finally started reading the LN because I expected it to take another half-decade. I'm not angry about this, I just find that funny because this isn't the first time something like that happens to me.
