Blood and Vampire Hunter D are very similar in themes and execution. They both follow a human-vampire hybrid main character whose mission is hunting down and killing other vampires. They're both quite violent and action-packed, and are even made in the same year.

Both are about vampires and how sometimes these night stalkers are treated unfairly when they try to blend into mortal society Vampire Hunter D is more sentimental the other one is trying to hide her true nature by beeing rough both are must see for fans of vampires

Both include a very strong, very mysterious, female lead. Elements of storyline are discovered throughout the film, or in Elfen Lieds' case, show. The epic-ness and action packed scenes really pull you into them both. Both are very dark, and strong elements of gore in both add to the awesomeness.

both are vampire story´s , although i pefer the last vampire WAY more than black blood brothers as an masterpiece, still both are simmilarity in the ´vampire ´genre and earned their name, Especially Blood, the last vampire.

both chara are ´cut out´for the job, being demons or vampire´s , and have some damn filthy case up their nose, both decade´s apart from eachother and were just a one-time project

Blood: The Last Vampire and Claymore have similar stories using different genres. Saya (Blood: The Last Vampire) is a slayer who kills shapeshifting monsters that prey on humans. Clare (Claymore) is a warrior who kills shapeshifting demons that prey on humans. Both characters are stoic and lethal girls who are not human but fight to protect humans. Blood: The Last Vampire may be a short movie, but you will still find most of the elements that made Claymore interesting.

A teenager is tasked with killing three powerful vampires in an urban setting. The sketchy art style and high-level animation in both anime make for some great sakuga cuts, with a lot of gore and blood. Main characters are also vampires to some extent.

Some of the least anime-ish anime movies you can watch. It's paced and directed more like a live action film.

Both anime are dark. The art is similar. Both stories are dramatic.

I guess the story outline would be not enough for claiming some special similarity, as it is already sort of a cliche (secret organization vs supernatural enemies fighting in a way that society doesn't realize...). Lead characters have not much in common (melancholic insecurity / aggressive overconfidence) but for me what makes those movies alike are pictures. Maybe Robin is not so 3D, and generally lower quality (TV-series against the movie), but there's some visual mood much in share. Low saturation and contrast for colours and dark settings and probably some more subtle factors can provide same feeling for both shows that personally I  read more

Taciturn, serious and determined main characters, in a very dark plot, who are pretty strong in fights and they use just a simple sword. Both have heavy violence, blood and gore.

The same studio made both titles. And more: Balsa looks like Saya, even though their attitudes may be different... Blood: The Last Vampire is about a vampire that hunts its own kin...and Seirei is about mystical guardian of the water spirit. But both are a must see and a must buy!

Both are stories related to vampires. Allucard, as like as Saya, kill their own kin. Lots of blood and enjoyment garanteed!

Blood: The Last Vampire and Mars Red share the same basic idea of vampires working with the government and killing other vampires to protect humans. They also have a similar approach in telling their vampire stories: realistic character design, dark colour pallet, and a slow burn storyline. Anyone who enjoys vampires with a dark atmosphere should look into this recommendation.

Both are action horror movie with a female "badass" that uses sword to fight and that has supernatural powers as main character.

Female ninjas/vampires, assassinations accompanied with plenty of blood and finishing moves and fantastic animation.

Blood: The Last Vampire and Hellsing Ultimate are vampire anime with graphic violence, visual horror, a dark atmosphere. Neither anime invest time into character development or plot, but this is not needed when you compensate your audience in other ways. Blood: The Last Vampire might be a short movie, but it uses all its time to create a slowburn, action thriller. Hellsing Ultimate needed years to release high quality OVA episodes proving that the audience loved everything. If this sounds like a good time then you should look into this recommendation.

Two anime movies that feature a teenage girl with supernatural abilities, who is part of a secret military squad to track down evil.

The anime industry has very few examples of vampires in a horror anime. Shiki is a slow burn anime series that builds tension with its mystery and suspense until all the storylines reach their climax. Blood: The Last Vampire is a very short anime movie, but it is still able to create and build up tension, which makes the action sequences better. Their approach to horror might be different, but you won't regret the experience.
