Both are VR-MMORPG games where the player puts on a headset and sets foot into a different world in their own adventure! After that, the story tends to differ (for now).

Both protagonists dive into a game world and go on adventures. They meet new friends, fight in competitions, and get new skills. They try and balance their real life and game life as they start spending more time in the game world compared to the real world. One is a female protagonist while the other is a male protagonist.

Bothe anime have a similar tone and one could summarise both of their plots at once: An isekai in a game world where the main cast consist of a small group of young people that are disproportionaly powerful. After making friends, getting used to the world and overcoming some early chellanges, they find themseves in the center of an evil plot that threatens the entire region. Apart from that, the actual worlds and dynamics are quite different. Dendrogram has the more plausible, if boring premice - a VR-MMORPG that has no clear goal and soundls like normal life plus super powers and a quest system - while the  read more

it is very similar to Infinite dendrogram, where you can also do anything to pump, fight, arrange competitions and so on. very reminiscent of the main character, he is very pumped, trying to protect himself and his loved ones, while he is very friendly and able-bodied considering that these two games are in VR and the main character also has a very similar, strong companion as in Infinite dendrogram.

What these two stories have in common that both stories have the creepy crazy mad scientist that does experiment on large tanks trope that have evil schemes to destroy the world. also no stories are complete without the epic battles to save the day. Although there are also its other difference wont go into details. the other similarity is for shield hero as default equipment on the get-go is a shield... Infinite Dendrogram they get a companion, for our mc happens to be a cute girl that turn into a weapon but they can be anything even a big castle.

both anime are VRMMORPG anime with some darker undertones although with Infinite Dendrogram the game world work much in real life with the Tains (NPCs) being mortal so failure of a quest for permanently end a Tains life give more weight to the game. in SAO II the first fourteen episode (twenty four total not including recap) is center around a player in GGO (a post apocalypse wild west shot them up game )that has a "death gun" that allow them to kill player in real life. the two are most similar when comparing the Calibur arc and the mother's Rosario arcs of SAO  read more

While both anime are very different from each other, there are some very close similarities between the two. - Both shows feature the same concept: an MMORPG game using VR-technology. - Each game's world takes place in medieval times where the players are free to do as they choose, as long as they physically can do it. - Unlike other anime following the same concept, the NPCs in both anime are treated as human beings and don't respawn aftering dying while the players do respawn.

Both is about a popular immersive full-dive VRMMORPG that takes place in a realistic virtual world realistic where NPCs that can die for real. Both of the main characters are noobs when playing the titular games. Players can also be able to log out from it. The differences is the interactions with the NPCs. - Ray from ID thinks the game is real. - Sunraku only acts out a scenario while giving appropriate responses.
