Both using "Gaming" main theme on the series, some elements, stories, time plot, and characters are almost similar each other, especially with the main character of both series. But here's the "slight" differences of both series, if you looking for serious thing-y, watch "Infinite Dendrogram" rather than "BOFURI."
both are VRMMORPG anime that focus on the MC time in game with just a few shots outside the game so they are like Isekai with gaming elements
