There is a high chance that if you liked Haikyuu you will like Kaze ga Tsuyoku as well. I'm already loving them both! You can feel the similar vibes coming through. The art styles are very similar so characters like Kageyama from Haikyuu and the main character Kakeru from Kaze look very similar. Also there is something going on with the importance of being "number 10". So definitely check out one if you have seen the other since they are both Sports genre and by the same studio!

Both are really similar in : - Learning to trust each others - Passion (sport meaning) is the key - BL/Bromance vibe - Realistic scenario - Dealing with struggles - Friendship

Both are based on running, male athletes/sports, and a mostly male cast overall.

These shows are both thought-provoking sports anime heavily invested in the themes of natural talent and practice

Both animes have a mainly male adult cast who wants to reach a goal, the friendship between the characters will develop their skills as well help them to surpass their limits.

The most common rec for Kazetsuyo seems to be Haikyuu but despite their shared studio and many creative staff, most similarities are superficial. At its core, Kazetsuyo is a character study through sports and the only other such anime, in my opinion, is Oofuri. Although one is about college students (age ranging from 19 to 25) doing long-distance running and the other about high school baseball, the 2 are similarly dedicated in their characterisation. All characters and their interpersonal relationships are written exceptionally well, resulting in a cast of multi-dimensional and relatable characters. While sport is used as an instrument of storytelling and characterisation, it's not  read more

Both are about sports and friendship. They have different stories behind the main characters and most of the character have high-spirited about sports. And how they are going to face the challenges too. A lot of emotional parts too...Hope you love it.

Both shows have a similar energy. and while Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (KTF) is a sports anime and Boku no Hero Academia (BHA) is a superpower anime, they both are strong shounen anime. Characters that aren't where they want to be build themselves up. The enjoyment level, the mindset of the characters, and the drive to succeed are common themes while both anime's do it completely separate ways. If you enjoyed the type of character development in KTF, you'll certainly enjoy the adventure and characters in BHA.

Two sports anime focused on a group of guys trying to meet certain goals. Run With The Wind is certainly a bit more serious, but both have a great feeling of success when their characters succeed. They are enjoyable to watch for similar reasons, mainly good character chemistry and growth, as well the sports themselves being well animated and fun to watch.

These are two sports anime about fairly different sports but done in a somewhat similar way. They both lead up to a big event, and spend most of their time building up characters that have never done the sport before. In both of them, the protagonists (Run With the Wind is basically all protagonists) have never really done the sport before, and so we see them starting from zero and working their way up. Both are very motivating and fun to watch. I will say Run With the Wind is much better if you want to just watch people getting better at something, but Ballroom  read more

Yowamushi Pedal is about road race with bicycles and Kaze ga Tsuyoku is about road relay race (running). Both series take place in Japan and in both shows the main race takes place at Hakone. Fun fact: in one of the Yowamushi Pedal episodes (20) the characters are watching videos of Hakone road relay race. A nice unintentional interconnection between two series.

A hopeless group of young men trying to reach a difficult goal? Yes, both series have it. If you like sports anime with well written slice of life elements to it then both are for you. The differences are that Kaze students are in college while Hoshiai takes place in middle school. Also Running versus Soft tennis. Yet they share the similar vibe in character interactions and difficult backgrounds.

Another great sports anime with a elemental motif. Sora has the water while these boys have the wind.

While Re: Main is a bit different because of the amnesia thing. They are pretty similar a prodigy on a bad team, teaching amateurs how to play. They have strong supporting pieces that have their own motivation but they all have to come together to achieve their slightly unrealistic goals. Through hard word practice and bonds they formed they try to achieve their goals. While the prodigy realizes he can better himself as well

Both are about students in clubs competing in competitions. Both series explore each character's motivations for joining/staying in their clubs. Both are very wholesome and good for your heart.

Though the subject of each anime is completely different, they both are a tale of random people achieving great things, things they never dreamed of doing, things that inspire. Both anime are a lesson of how ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things. They are about a journey of a lifetime.

Both series are based on novels written by the same woman and feature very detailed character work and incredibly realistic atmosphere, despite having wildly different settings.

I personally enjoyed Kaze ga tsuyoku fuiteru a lot more that Bakuten!! but I still found it enjoyable. It is based in a similar dormitory setting, the mc's coming in as a new member into the group and they're making a place for themselves. It's a feel good type a show. A bit tacky imo at times but it didn't bother me too much.

Both stories use a main character that is a top-tier athlete but also extremely stoic, who is forced to face the melancholy of his past when he transfers to a new school and has to start over with a team that has almost no experience.
report Recommended by IAmDare
Both are about underdogs who rose to the competition under one's leadership. MCs are quite similar in that they both are hard-working, calculative and charismatic. Portrays struggles of individual members participating in the sport. They both feel pretty similar except that kaze ga tsuyoku fuiteiru is a more passionate story while giant killing focuses a bit more on strategizing.

Both anime has MC that stopped doing the thing they loved because of some bitter past, but eventually met someone who help them to get over that problem.

if you're into the type of main character who: - has irreversible injury but is hopelessly in love with a sport he can never do again - is the team's mother and coach - radiates sly bastard energy lol

-Two main characters which are the axis of team development -A team that want to win an important tournament -charismatic characters -many of his characters manage to self-overcome -is developed in amateur leagues, all of the characters are students -A great friendship -A weak character and a genius character -Evolution continues in plot and interactions between characters -Same uniform color and similar art style -a beautiful assistant girl -very little romance - similar duration days 24 episodes, kaze ga 23 episodes

Honey and Clover and Run with the Wind are both shows about a bunch of college students practising a common activity and getting to know themselves while doing it. They're both character driven shows, not having a lot as for a plot per say, but making up for it with great character development. They both put a lot of emphasis on self discovery tough HnC with a romance twist and Kaze ga with sports as the outlet for all that. Anyway, I'd recommend them to anyone wanting to live a very warm experience / searching for a new favourite comfort anime.

This two anime tells about "Friendship-Persistence-Ambition-Dream-and-Love" that everyone need in sport and youth life. This two anime provides sports stories that aren't often made in typical Japanese anime, that's why I recommended you :)

Both have the same theme, namely winning championships in sports. The good thing about these two Anime is that they teach about Chasing dreams with pleasure, Not just strength. As the story goes, You will understand it. Fight on !.

Both sports anime, but it also has that team vibe for a fairly individual sport.

Great motivational anime, they make you want to start training.

As mentioned, very similar in the way both series really show the determination of the main cast to overcome the huge almost impossible task infront of them. Whilst they are no where close length wise, whilst watching Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru, i was reminded of the hardships Gon and Killua went through to become better Hunters, which a lot of the time were the best parts of the show for me.

Okay.. I know they're quite different in some ways.. but Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru reminds me of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo a lot. Both of the shows transpire the life of students inside a single dormitory. Also, Mashiro Shiina and Kakeru Kurahara are both prodigy of a certain field, also they both have social issues. I think these shows portrait the importance of team work and the significance of unity between members of a certain group.

These shows share some similarities such as - Both are Sports anime where characters are adults so you get something new rather than usual high school setup - MC has a bad past experience which makes him having difficulties working together with others - Players living together in the same house/dorm Ryman's club is a newer series so time will tell it's further quality yet if you are looking for series with similar themes this might be it.

Yoichi Hiruma and Haiji Kiyose are the de facto leaders of their teams, determined to achieve their lofty goals of winning the Christmas Bowl and running the Hakone Ekiden Marathon, respectively. And they'll do whatever it takes to coerce their teammates to join them to their cause through (largely comical) psychological manipulation or plain old blackmail. Both teams are made up of a ragtag group with a strong sense of camaraderie, whom no one would expect to make it past the first tournament.

Both series revolve around a university sports club. RideBack steers dramatically away from sports after a few episodes, but if you wanted to watch more young adults enjoying sports and camaraderie, Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru might be what you need. If you liked the latter and also enjoy action and mecha, then RideBack is a must-watch.

Both are a bit slow paced and about the struggles of making friends, figuring out yourself, and the forming bonds between teammates in sport. Both have young boys as protagonists and side characters and there is a focus on emotions.
report Recommended by Lopika
Both are about becoming a functional team and becoming stronger individually to improve the whole team. Both depict different character types acting in team environment and solving problems. Both are sport related anime. The main characters (Kageyama from Haikyuu and Kakeru from Kaze ga tsuyoku fuiteiru) are similar in mentality and dealing with problems and they both involve as characters throughout the series.

Ao Ashi follows the MC through situations that help him grow / develop both, as an athlete & in his character. Both anime are good for anyone that enjoys watching an athlete-MC go through deep character development by overcoming difficult situations related to the sport. Ao Ashi follows Ashito through his first journey of growth after goijg through failures that come after his previous success, and watching Ashito go from relying too heavily on talent -> necessary training to hone his skills. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Run with the Wind) goes a level deeper by following MCs at a university, who have already gone through  read more

If you like the theme of college teams that start up and follow the growth of both the team and it's members than either series is a win. Cheer Danshi is similar to Kaze ga Tsuyoku in quite a few ways honestly; both teams have a member with a dream he isn't sure he can manage, both have an injury and troubled members that they have to pursue for a bit before they join. It's a roller coaster from start to end for both.

They show that supportive cast are really important to have during your life.

If you like characters and their development in Run with the Wind you may like characters in Slam Dunk too. They have a lot in common (passion, encouragement, perseverance, etc.) Also, Slam Dunk is quite fun and it has a similar realistic feel in contrast with for example Kuroko no Basket. So, just try it, you won't regret it. It's fun, quite realistic and it has great characters. And if you get to the end of the anime, you can just finish the story with manga, anime is completely based on it.

Nana and Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Kaze) are similar in their character development and their drama. The characters are given vivid, realistic backstories. And while Nana is about getting to the top of music/showbiz, Kaze is about being in the top 10 to win the biggest running competition in Japan. Nana is a Josei (for women) and Kaze is more is more for boys. But it's refreshing how the characters are older. In Nana, they're out of school and Kaze is college. The drama is very heavy in both and the scenes are pretty realistic as well as the actions and motivations of the characters.  read more

They have a great balance of believable characterization and enthralling sports scenes. Themes in both of these shows include finding one's passion, being on a team, overcoming obstacles and following one's dreams.
