Both take place in an office job with characters in their mid 20's. Both also have a somewhat relaxing atmosphere and off beat comedy.

Cutesy shows that tackle the harsh reality of workplace culture and self-identity. Both manage to be charming and relaxing while brutally honest.

You may wonder how those 2 animes are similar because they seem so different, they have many similarities too. Both are about anthropomorphic animals who act like humans. They go to school and to work, fall in love and have worries. Worries are darker in Beastars as the animal part is quite important in this anime (how herbivores act with carnivores etc.), because in Aggretsuko the theme of the animals is not very important, it's just their appearance. However, I feel if you like slice of life about some serious matters (like money, job problems, being fired in Aggretsuko or violence, sex abuse in Beastars),  read more

Both stories excellently deal with the monotony of adult life and professional burnout. Thanks to their comedic formula, they can capture the attention of every viewer. The main characters experience daily adventures alongside their close friends. These adventures give the main characters their reason to smile, which is the little spark that turns into their motivation to continue.

Two hilarious shorter (ca 15 min x 10 ep) series with the shared trope of a timid main character who transforms when performing death metal. Both are vocalists, either in a popular band, or just slaying it in a karaoke place. If you want to just relax and watch a series which doesn't take itself too seriously, laughing life's annoying troubles away, then either is a great choice.

They are not exactly similar but I felt same vibe from them. Both have this thing that short episodes but entertaining so much! Both have funny characters. If you liked one you will like another too.

These series are similar in how they present a normal girl who has a hidden side that comes out when she's angry. Both series use their anger for comedic purposes, with the extremity of their anger versus how they normally present themselves being apart of the humor.

Both deal with the problems that a worker might face in their day-to-day life, so if you enjoyed that part of Aggresive Retsuko, then you may find some of this in Skullfaced Bookseller Honda-san, and vice versa.. Be warned, though, that they differ in that Aggretsuko deals more with work-life balance, while Honda-san is more about informing people about the process of bookselling, so the overall feelings of the shows are different.

Comedy animes with animal characters working in office environments. Has somewhat similar art style and animation.

Both shows involve the use of animal characters in a modern day society, and take a more low-key approach to the show.

Both of these shows have rather short episodes revolving around a single joke that applied to different situations: Retsuko and her secret hobby using death metal karaoke to destress and Ueno's cornucopia of different inventions to win her crush's heart. Despite this, both series have a sense of progression where events in past episodes are referenced. If you enjoyed the simple premise and slapstick yet heartening nature of one, it's likely the other would be worth your time.

Aggretsuko and Cells at Work! CODE BLACK! shows us what can happen when you work in a toxic environment. They might be in completely different work environments, but Retsuko and Red Blood Cell AA2153 are hard workers who can't seem to catch a break (and might even be punished for their efforts). You might think that Retsuko can solve her problems with a better job, but no such luck for Red Blood Cell AA2153. Who has it better? Who has it worst? You decide.

Both protagonists are young adults frustrated from expectations, routine and failure in their lives, questioning themselves if they are good enough. Also, both share a dark comedy, a crush that protagonist does not notice, and characters that can't be considered as fully good or bad whom the protagonists have toxic relationships.

anthropomorphic animal stuff

While the protagonists of the two series have very different relationships with their work, both series focus on young women navigating the Japanese work environment. Both series provide down to earth, realistic portrayals of adulthood lightened by bits of comedy.

Maybe if Retsuko had Najimu for a boss instead Ton, she'd be less angry. Not only are these shows similar in setting and art style, but I'm pretty sure Youjo Shachou's ending theme is a direct reference to Aggretsuko.

Both anime focus on the character's day to day work job while having some romance involved. Both have cute styles and are a comedy Retsuko & Haida remind me of Beezlebub & Myurin in some ways, possibly just the height difference between them lol Besides that they are way different, Aggretsuko focuses on more adult topics while Beezlebub is just a cute mini slice-of-life

Aggretsuko is a series, and Kick-Heart a short film. But both anime seemed similar to me in a way: though played for comedy, they concern repressed emotions and letting them loose. Retsuko lets steam off by throat-singing metal, whereas the couple of luchadores express their lust (otherwise not possible to openly express, given their occupations) by over-the-top wrestling.

In both of these animes: - Main characters hide their real selves - But also bond with a few who know their real selves - Both have bosses that are terrible to them - Hilarious anime that will make you laugh - Also make you feel bad for the main characters

Cute main heroine? Check. Office setting? Check. Quirky Cast of Characters? Check. Bubbling Romance? Check. Hilarious laughing? Check. Servant x Service follows Lucy Yamagami as she begins her job as a government employee. However this show is anything but typical. Like Aggressive, it takes a normal day and brings it up a notch to something more grander than typically allowed with it's humour and zany characters.

Both are about young women in their late 20s navigating life through their relationships, jobs, and more. They have a consistent job around people that later become good friends. Although Aggretsuko is more cartoonish and has animal characters, it's just as realistic showing the confusing world of adulting.

My Neighbors the Yamadas and Aggressive Retsuko are comedic, casual slice of life anime, but have very different tones and mood. My Neighbors the Yamadas shows the daily life of a multi-generational household through vignettes. Aggretsuko shows the daily life of an adult in a toxic work environment and struggles of romantic relationships. Many viewers love both anime for their relatability and humour.

Aggretsuko and Polar Bear Cafe are two adorable slice of life comedy series that follow animals through their day to day jobs. Aggretsuko is more dramatic and takes place in an accounting office. Polar Bear Cafe is more laid back and cute and takes place in a cafe.

Slice of life about jobs: one in an office and the other in a restaurant. Both have unique characters will make you laugh with their daily issues or circunstances and they have a touch of romance in the background.

Both are comedic flash animation shows, that focus on the protagonists' daily life, and how their troublesome interactions with others influence their lives. Saiki is a more "affectionate" high-school comedy, whereas Aggretsuko is a biting satire against the workaholism in Japanese culture.
