I found these shows to be alike in their atmosphere. Another and Mayoiga are very eerie and set a certain uncomfortable (something bad is going to happen) atmosphere. Mayoiga and Another are both uncovering a secret about a village/class and indulge in mystery. Another is more horror geared than Mayoiga that's more mystery based.

The both have Psychological experiments as a premise. They take place in a mysterious village tucked in the middle of nowhere similar themes of ghosts, characters with strange personalities, and legends

Mayoiga is marketed as a horror however it can be watched as a comedy, similar to Ousama Game. The atmosphere is dark and edgy in both shows, however, Mayoiga is less serious. Both shows are in the mystery genre and neither show tries to explain the supernatural events in a comprehensive way.

Both main characters are pretty small and weak, filled with bright hope and hero feelings, and give off a similar aura. I think this is a good reason to watch the other if you liked the main character in one. Both settings are mysterious and give off bad vibes. If you enjoyed that mysterious feeling, then you will probably like the other. Both have a diverse character set that makes the plot more enjoyable.

The cast is a dysfunctional group/family. They are confronted with unconventional supernatural phenomenons. This leads to a mystery/psychological. The art style is similar, too.

Though they start off very differently, the eventual idea of both series centres around a cast of characters with internal scars which prevent them from leaving the place they are trapped in. Angel Beats is more slice of life-ish while Mayoiga is more centred around mystery.

Both are spooky and mysterious, both keep you guessing on what's going to happen next. Similar in quality of story, characters and setting.

In both anime the focus lies on a quite small group of people who find themselves in an isolated village Both anime have a dark atmosphere

Self-Protective. Defying my Key and Ke paradigm: absolute epitomes of sainism while absolute craters of masokinism. Every character has much to say, repeatedly struggling to speak. The stories expose a sense of morality where the unique-ness of every individual is precious simulating why meaning even when the relative isolation which preserves that is a hindrance. Mayoiga suggests how detachment between many individuals simultaneously complicates conflict resolved by consensus and diversifies the side-effects of that resolution. Subete ga F ni Naru presents an issue of nihilism when many individuals develop too robust of deductive and predictive reasoning, where the only question left is how to make  read more

What can you do when you have to start a new life? How to cooperate with others when you end up in a quaint place? How does a newly formed group deal on its own with otherness and danger? What to expect and what to be afraid of? Two different shows, that seem to be very similar at the same time, will try to answer these questions.

Both are entertaining horror anime, and can make you creep out with an ugly faces and creepy sound effects. Just ignore the storyline to make the experience more enjoyable. kikoushi is more creepy than mayoiga.

The last part of both shows resembled each other. Can’t share any details cos they’re spoilers. Though I say this, Mayoiga is not a parallel world-like show.

Lots of characters, put in an unknown environment trying to survive. There is lots of flash backs.

They are similar in terms of: -Multiple characters -Tolerable horror stuff -Gives off the thinking and psychological feels -Both give resolve to the characters

Both shows start off light but goes dark as the show progresses. Both shows also have several characters involved and also have diverse personalities that the MCs have to deal with. Both Mitsumune and Emma have a strong sense of justice and have savior complex. Both shows are in a bad environment where they struggle to escape from.

If you liked The Lost Village or were disappointed but still liked the theme/plot/story then don't worry you have a great alternative to watch the better version of it which is Summertime rendering. Summertime Render explores themes of trauma, identity, and the supernatural. If you’re looking for a similar blend of mystery, suspense, and rural Japanese setting, Summertime Render is a good recommendation.

Both have a large casts of young adults travelling to a small rural village and stayed there for the majority of the run time with suspense conflicts and horror elements. The main difference is that one is about tech while the other is about fears

These two features a large cast of young characters deciding to explore a mysterious and abandoned location, intentionally/ unintentionally. and ended up getting trapped there due to some sort of disasters The characters both have a similar attitude, stupid, dumb, and love to start arguments with each other, with one being similarly designed and even one being from said mysterious place, where they share about their internal struggles that brought them here. They also play into a bit of horror elements too

The characters are endearing to both anime. In addition, the suspense is at its height, there is a lot of paranormal stuff going on, and these evil beings, weird creatures that are supposed to be invisible become visible. A lot of passage is creepy. And the two animated ones are quite dismal on a lot of points. The openings are also very interesting, they are very well done, which allows you to get straight into the anime from the start of each episode.

Both have a large cast of oddballs and society's rejects. Assassination Classroom handles it a lot better in that they are not a bunch of complete idiots.

there both so bad that there actually amazing, there just "unintentionally hilarious"

Both of them have extremely absurd comedic situations, but Hinamatsuri does this on purpose and tends to be more comedic, while Mayoiga does this by accident. Either way, situations crop up that are strange, wacky, and absurd, that'll keep you laughing, either on purpose or by accident.

Both shows involve a cast of people who have had tough pasts and desire to escape them. Mayoiga has that "horror" hint to it whereas Grisaia doesn't. Grisaia has a smaller cast than Mayoiga which allows a clear story and character development (in my opinion) I'm surprised no one else has recommended Grisaia for Mayoiga.

Both shows concentrate on finding the right ways in one's life. Both protagonists fight against prejudice and discrimination of the girl everybody else sees as bad. Both shows contain supernatural powers and in both shows teenagers are the main characters who move the plot forward. I also got the same wibe from the two shows and the male protagonists seem similar to me, but that is only my personal feeling.

Dark and unsettling shows about youngsters being involved in dangerous circumstances in their lives while they unfold the truth and mysteries of a strange place.

Both shows involve characters with issues and emotional traumas that manifest physical form and play a huge role in story development.

Both are kinda trippy shows that make you question your own perceptions of the world if you get involved enough. Slow pacing, initially confusing, and there is a lot of attention paid to the details of characters' subjective perceptions and experiences and how they overlap with those of others or not. Mayoiga has considerably stronger Action elements than Shinreigari. Shinreigari has a stronger real-life based theoretical grounding for its world building and I had a field day on Wikipedia because of many of the things said in the voiceovers for the episode previews. Both shows have many easter eggs and unspoken connections. Shinreigari has more  read more

To be honest, both of these animes are polar opposites. However, if you like Mayoiga, you will most certainly take interest in Terror in Resonance. Both animes have characters that dislike the world, as they feel that injustice, in some form was used against them. Terror in Resonance also shares the rather uneasy atmosphere that is found in Mayoiga.

#DankRecs Both have a thought provoking message to convey about life and how the character finally has a resolve to deal with it. Also both anime is surreal and funny in their own way.

Both are incredibly memeingful, unintentional B horror-esque comedies that just keep escalating the further in you get. Testing the very concept of how much suspension of disbelief one can have.

Extreme Malware in real isolation. In a reality bodies jealously guard expansive empirical minds; in another one mind jealously arbitrates diffusive mental occupation. Barrel scraping effort causes flirtation with infectious silliness, in other words gaslighting. Approaching singular conflict with cascadingly compounding subconflicts, to extract entropy as efficiently as imaginably possible, damaging sanities either by one's rules repairably or by another's irreparably. One takes place in mindscape, while the other in the land of bodies, considering bodily needs most of which may be trivially resolved while the other focusing on destruction lack of entropy causes. Mayoiga is mildly brutish in its handling of bodies never passing a  read more
