Both are extremely short one-shots that manage to convey a large amount of emotion in just a short amount of time. Both involve the death of loved ones.

More so the relationship, and it is a rather odd one, but they are powerful given the context of both worlds, and the means to part in such untimely fashion is rather glum. It's not just there for show either, the general acclamation suggests these relationships be as powerful as normal anime would be too. They are good shorts that focus on relationships, Rain Town takes into account the atmosphere and Kanamewo, you have to do some context digging to grasp it entirely.

Time, a variable that reigns over all, that rule will never change and time will remain the winner at the end of the day. Such an entity so strong gives birth to some stories that know how to bring feelings out of the viewer. Kanamewo and Furiko, stories in which people are passing with time in such pitiful ways know this all too well. The passing of what you wish to not pass, the struggles as time goes forward, these two shorts are incredible at directing such. Great net videos, very time efficient too.

Relations. Kanamewo and One that Heads to Tomorrow both show the importance of relationships be it via more controversial ways or wholesome ways. Kanamewo exceeds with the controversial storytelling with its many aspects not typical found (to be considered of decency) in its narrative, whilst One that Heads to Tomorrow is more wholesome, spreading a simple but honest story of relationships. Two good shorts that remind up of how important a relationship is be it friendships or love.

Both have one of the characters harbouring a non-human entity and both come to deeply care for them. Also, both of them have a distinctive artstyle.

There's not a lot out there that can truly make one feel something in such a small timeframe, but leave it to Kaigo to Ikiru and Kanamewo to disprove you. Such a simple story, with no words, but music and a powerful array of frames entwining to make for a short blessing. A story based on family, how important they are and why the losses are so heartbreaking, you will find that all here. Two amazing net videos.

An obscure recommendation, but losing a loved one is a universal feeling at some point in life. Kanamewo, despite being short, has the same power as Clannad AS in conveying such an emotion. Touching, to say the very least. Do obviously watch Clannad then After Story if you haven't seen the series already.

Weird concept blended to music, deep themes that are implied but not explained, and a extreme sense of melancholy and confusion that is paired with it. Plus top tier animation for both, and both are short-form! How can you say no?

Girl finds a non-human creature, takes care of them and eventually falls in love. Both of these music videos are animated by the same person.

Older lady takes care of a girl of supernatural origins. Those short videos also have visuals that are both cute and aesthetically cool to look at.

- Female protagonist - Adopts plant, befriends plant, loves plant - Interesting art - Environmental themes

Same kind of thing, but Orgel's a little longer. Someone finds a cute little loli thing and takes care of it for a bit before it poops out on them.
